I'd heard about this place and the rave reviews were correct!! The burgers are a smash hybrid, very juicy and delicious. You can order a single double or triple. The single is huge for $7 with $1 upcharge for cheese. There are numerous toppings with no charge: tomato lettuce pickles onion grilled mushrooms and onions etc. the fries are shoestring and amazing!! A huge serving for $4.75. Hamburger Mikey's is becoming a local Spring Lake favorite, as it is in Muskegon. It's a busy little place around the meal times. There is not a lot of table seating inside, or outside for that matter during the warm weather months. So prepare to take home/work or just eat in the car. I got the basic burger, single patty, with my choice of toppings. Lettuce, pickle, onion and, tomato. ($7). I wanted a small fry and the smallest was $4.75. They serve you enough for 3 people! I guess to some this is considered value. To me, a single diner, it was a waste of money. Why not offer a single serve fry for say....two bucks? I opted to take out my meal. The ambience inside was rather noisy....you notice that real quick while you stand around waiting for your food to be made. It was too cool to eat outside. No fountain pop. I ordered no drink. $11.75 + tax was my burger and fry costs....so you're right around Five Guys territory! read more

I was visiting Grand Haven for the day and wanted to stop at a local spot. I ordered a Mikey original, small fries, and a chocolate shake. My order was ready within just a few minutes and I had lunch at one of the outside patio tables. Everything was delicious! I had the Mikey sauce with the fries, which I highly recommend. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted, and the burger was crispy with fresh toppings that did not compete with each other. The milkshake rounded everything out nicely. We stopped by on our way back to Grand Rapids and man, I wish I knew about this gem before! They just may have the best burger we have ever tried in Michigan. The beef was fresh and cooked to perfection, and they offer a lot of toppings to choose from as well. One of my favorite things about Hamburger Mikey's was the sauce options, as I am a huge fan of dipping my burger and fries into various sauces. I loved the wild Mikey sauce the most. But if you're not feeling like a burger, they also have hot dogs and shakes that looked incredible. I will definitely be returning to try those. One of the most important things I really enjoyed was the vibes offered here. The staff were cracking jokes, everyone was smiling and welcoming the customers as they walked in. Owner was there, grilling up burgers. I said I was a first timer so he basically said ok choose single double or triple patty. Choose your sauce. Your cheese. And your toppings. So I got a single with blue cheese and Mike's sauce with lettuce tomato onion and pickle. Then I asked for fries. The gal at the register asked if I wanted regular or little. I'm glad she did. I wanted little fries (it's still a huge portion) and two sauces on the side. They gave me one included w the fries and charged for the other one. No biggie. It's cheap. My order was ready within five minutes. They bagged it up even though I was eating there. I grabbed salt and napkins and dug in. Burger was so good. Tender. Juicy. Flavorful. Fries were salted but I like a lot of salt so I doused them. I tried both sauces. Mike's white gold was my fave, it's basically a better ranch. I did not finish all the fries so I took them to go with my sauces. Pretty good deal here for a burger and fries considering how much food you get. I would definitely come back here again. Great burger. Excellent service. Parking lot is small but room for plenty. Outdoor seating closed for snow but indoor there's plenty. Most people got their food to go but I didn't want mine to be cold and soggy, so I ate there. The place is clean and so is there bathroom, which is unisex. There is ketchup and little to go containers for it right by the soda machine. They also have bottled beverages for sale and some branded t shirts. I like this place. We heard about Hamburger Mikey's on an Instagram Post! Decided it was absolutely time to come and check it out. We had Family Visiting from Illinois and we were all in! We headed from Holland on a Beautiful September Saturday and Arrived Around 5:30 to experience this famous spot! We all ordered what we planned to enjoy on our Mikey's Burgers! Some traditional some more classic others creative. They all were perfect! Served up by their friendly staff. Enjoyed their indoor seating but certainly could have eaten outdoors as well. We had milkshakes and shared their famous fries! Wow Wow and Wow. We absolutely will be back. What a treasure. Locally owned and beating out the Big Guys. Hands down! 10/10. We all agree. Everything was great about this burger. Stand alone building/whole in the wall restaurant. Some seating inside and outside. 7 dollars for a great size burger and has options of toppings, from onions, grilled onions, lettuce tomatoes, mushrooms, pineapples and more for no extra charge and the burger was phenomenal. Delicious place to visit after stopping by grand Haven and walking the pier. When walking in, we were greeted nicely with a fairly extensive menu visible. I went with the double cheeseburger labeled the fat Mikey. The burger was cooked very well and was a smashed burger style patty. Overall, the food was delicious. The fries also were thin cut and yummy though it did taste slightly bitter at times. However, still delicious nonetheless. There was plenty of seating off to the side, though I can totally see it. Get pretty busy in the summers given that there is relatively limited seating. Our weight was minimal and food came out quickly and was well prepared. Bathrooms were clean and overall the place seems to be maintained well. Overall, enjoyed our short day and the lunch was quality and worth recommending. I was in Spring Lake on a work trip and wanted to try their 2nd location to see how it compares. The owner was there too! Again, very nice, welcoming guy. The best burger joint in the west side of Michigan. The added Spring Lake location is very similar to the Muskegon location. The Spring Lake location has some nicely shaded and sheltered outdoor seating in addition to indoor tables and the similar barstool counter found in Muskegon.
