This review is long overdue. I had my wedding in September and although Halsted Flowers was booked with SEVERAL events on my wedding date, they made an exception and did my bouquets and boutonnières. I was extremely thrilled and not only that, the flowers came our gorgeous! I told them what my colors were and what my budget entailed, and they gave me a bouquet that worked. Thank you, Halsted Flowers. read more

This is by far the best flower shop I've ever been to or dealt with. It's a small mom-and-pop shop with an incredible selection from their very deliberately picked providers. Absolutely unreal service - the owners and their son were working when I went and were incredibly helpful when ordering flowers before Valentines Day for delivery. They took the time to explain different arrangement types and what they could do for me if I wanted a specific flower emphasized within a given arrangement -- which I did. Possibly the best part was when they actually delivered the flowers a little less than a week later - the woman (I didn't see who it was but I imagine it was one of the owners who helped me out) waited for my girlfriend to come and get them (at her office) from the receptionist just so she could see the look on her face. Unheard of. I look forward to going back again and again. read more

Unique and beautiful arrangements! I live in Atlanta and needed to send my sister who just had twins something. I absolutely cannot stand the typical arrangement that is overloaded with babies breath, fern cuttings along with a few flowers or those shops that have online ordering but nothing looks like the picture you ordered because it's "not in season". Well this shop is not them and you will be blown away! Not only by the actually arrangement but the customer service and price, I was so pleased and happy with my entire experience that I have saved them in my phone and WILL be using them from here on out when I need to send her future arrangements! read more

Beautiful flowers with excellent communication with the owner. They work with your budget and provide great recommendations.

This is a lovely little flower shop. I stopped in to pick up a small plant and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The shop is quite small, but they have a wide variety of really beautiful plants that were reasonably priced. Will definitely be back! read more

This is a review of my past 4 experiences over a 1 year time frame. As a guy it's always been a pet peeve of mine when flower shops take advantage of men by having the free will to do what they want with a budget. This place DOES NOT do that. So many times I've run into the situation of bringing home a 60 dollar bouquet that my girlfriend says has 20 dollars worth of flowers in it, because I've given OTHER flower shops free will. This place has time after time impressed her consistently with their beautiful arrangements while charging me a reasonable price. Yesterday I had an experience where a few hydrangeas died on me early. I called them and sent them some pictures so they had an idea of what was going on. Every other flower was PERFECT as they always are and they agreed their was something wrong a few flowers. They felt so bad about the situation and genuinely want you to walk out as a satisfied customer. They gave me a free credit at the store to replace all the hydrangeas and even rounded up to make sure I had a great experience with the replacement flowers. The ladies that work there have always been so friendly and genuinely want to make sure you have the best flowers to impress your ladies. They could not have handled the customer service side to a small problem any better. Thank you so much for being the place to turn to for us procrastinating guys that need some amazing last minute flowers! You have a life long customer in me. read more

I am so happy with the gorgeous flower arrangement I purchased as a gift. The flowers were very fresh with the colors I requested. Thank you Anthony and Geneva! It was more beautiful than I imagined! That's typically the way it is. Been shopping at Halsted Flowers since 2013 and I am always given more than expected. Very highly recommended! read more

I came to buy a flower arrangement for my mom and it came out perfect. I told Geneva my mom's favorite colors and she really took her time putting together a beautiful arrangement using the exact colors I asked for! My wife LOVED these flowers. I ordered her an arrangement for Mother's Day and she said it may have been the most beautiful flowers I've ever given her. The quality is top-notch, too. The flowers smell amazing. Thank you Halsted Flowers! read more

I am very impressed with this place! My husband had been here for flowers in the past and has always been extremely happy with the design and service. We recently worked with Geneva on a succulent garden for a center piece in our kitchen. We gave her full design control and it is beyond what we could have imagined. So beautiful. Geneva and her team is great to work with and we plan on using them for more projects in the future. read more

My favorite flower shop in the city. It's not even local to me and I make the trek over there because it's always a perfect arrangement. An amazing selection of hard to find exotic flowers, and lots of organic ones! Plus, very cool ownership, and a wonderful experience! read more

I ordered flowers for my dad and wife...I purchased from Halsted Flowers for location and yelp reviews. I was so happy with the service on the phone, delivery, communication and the floral arrangement. I highly recommend them. THANK YOU !!! read more

I was so excited to see that the owner, Geneva, moved back to Chicago to open up a new flower shop, Halsted Flowers. I used to buy flowers from her about 10 years ago when she had a shop in Printers Row. Geneva is a very talented florist who designs beautiful arrangements that you don't normally see at the average flower shop. I know she hand picks her flowers daily and you can tell that they're high quality. If you're looking for something really special or just something for your own home, you have to check this shop out! read more

Thank you for the beautiful arrangement you created for my sister today. It was my first time ordering online and I was a little hesitant but your work is amazing. It was a pleasure to work with you. Looking forward to working with you again! read more

I've never had quite an extraordinary experience like this. My wife and I moved to the area in the last year and I had been looking for a reliable florist to keep fresh flowers in our home. I went to Halsted Flowers because of the excellent Yelp reviews. Ordering flowers was incredibly easy, I just called in and gave a price I was looking to spend and a light description of what my wife likes - the flowers were ready when I came to pick them up, and they were lovely. I later had a slight concern about the flowers (green hydrangeas) and Geneva, the owner of Halsted Flowers, was just absolutely tenacious in resolving what I considered to be not a big deal (the green hydrangeas were an accompaniment, not the core part of the flower arrangement). It's evident she takes enormous pride in her work and her small business, and keeps incredibly high standards for customer happiness and satisfaction. A strongly undervalued part of looking for a florist is the value of trust - as a guy and especially with flowers, there's always a momentary hesitation b/c you never really know what you're going to get when you order from a florist you've never been to before. That trust is something I'm willing to pay a premium for and what engenders customer loyalty. I can't recommend Halsted Flowers enough. read more

Can't speak enough compliments to this florist, her talent speaks volumes and she speaks with such passion, it's my first visit in a long time to a "real" florist as opposed to ordering from a website or going to a retail store, and I'm glad I did, it's a cute little store with big personality and a staff that are kind and friendly and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple or complex arrangement read more

I have a friend who lives in Chicago and his cat passed away after having him for 17 years. I found Halsted Flowers on line and read the reviews. Although they were really positive I was not expecting the OUTSTANDING service I received. I needed a rush order of beautiful roses and Geneva and her staff was able to make it happy. My friend called within 90 minutes to say he received them and how beautiful they are. In addition to the beautiful flowers the customer service is outstanding. After hearing why I needed them so quickly Geneva even sent me a picture of the enclosed card (A cat with a halo above his head). How amazing as my friends cat is now in heaven. Thanks again and have a great day. read more

Geneva is extremely kind. I live in Texas and the flowers I ordered for my girlfriend who just moved to Chicago were delivered faster than was quoted. There's a reason this place is rated so highly they work their butts off and produce amazing arrangements. read more

My review is a overdue for Halsted Flowers - stopped by the afternoon of Valentine's Day, thinking I would have to pick from a scarce supply or leftovers due to my procrastination. Thankfully that was not the case! Geneva, the owner, had a whole assortment of ready made bouquets as well as the option to create one from scratch, with a variety of choices. Really liked one of the pre-made ones, so couldn't have been easier for great looking flowers. She knows her stuff and the whole store looks great. Very happy to support local business! read more

I finally dropped by here after living in the area for over two years now, and I must say, the owner, Geneva, is probably one of the nicest small local business owners I know. Not only is she so sweet, she is very knowledgeable on questions I had about every plant (I tend to kill my plants frequently) there was. It's a very charming and cozy store. You must visit her if you are close by! :) read more

Walk in clueless and leave with a great looking bouquet. Not the cheapest place I've been, but worth the money- I'll be returning! The owner was super helpful and very friendly and best of all, seemed to be very appreciative of my business. read more

Owner is incredibly friendly and a nice variety of flowers!

Wandered in 20 mins before closing (accidentally) and even though everyone was prepping to close the store they were still very friendly and helpful to me. High quality, fresh blooms at fair, transparent prices. When I asked about the peony price it was given with an explanation as to why they were the price per stem and when the price would go back down. Ended up settling on gorgeous, giant fragrant roses. They wrapped them beautifully (and took all the thorns off the stems!!) and they even came with instructions on how to keep the blooms fresh. read more

I stopped in for a small bunch of tulips on my way home from work on a whim and couldn't have been more happy I did. So many little hole-in-the-wall flower shops in this city it's hard to keep em straight, but I'll never question where to stop when I want to brighten up my apartment. A true small town shop in the city. read more

I stopped by the shop around 3PM the day before Mother's Day and requested 2 wrist corsages for later that evening when we would be having dinner down the block for Mother's Day with my parents and my wives parents as well. Not only did they make 2 gorgeous corsages despite being very busy but delivered them to our table at the restaurant when they were ready. Both mom's were surprised and really impressed with the beauty and attention to detail of the corsages! I'm not one to Yelp very often but Halsted Flowers went above and beyond and really impressed me with their friendly customer service. I will def be going there again in the future. read more

One word: GENEVA! She was an angel helping me out last minute, on a Friday afternoon before a holiday and from thousands of miles away on a poor cell connection no less!!!! I walked in to look around and found this to be an overall great flower shop. The two people working were so friendly and helpful, that I ended up buying a cool little plant and some fresh "triple petal" lilies for my girlfriend. Very unique and I had a 5 star experience. They cared about my questions and the owner, Geneva, told me, she's been in the industry for over 20 years. I can tell because she knows her stuff. Also, lately just noticed that so many businesses seem to not care if you buy from them or not...but Geneva thanked me and told me she was grateful for my business. Who says that these days?! THANKS GENEVA!! :) I highly recommend Halsted Flowers. read more

Beautiful little shop with an amazing selection of succulents, air plants and cacti. I can't stop in without picking up one or two more.

Was in the dog house with my girlfriend and found this place on google maps. Walked in and of course it smelled wonderful. The two women working, one the owner, were extremely helpful. They asked me my budget and what colors I wanted and then got to work, putting together a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They were incredibly nice and very personable, which made for a very comfortable experience. They provided a vase and gave a choice of walking out with it or boxing it up. They also hit right at my budget. I will definitely go back. read more

Lovely ladies at this shop with the patience to help a poor soul like me, born without a green thumb! Glad to support this local business

Geneva was a pleasure to work with for our wedding. She let me and my father make custom wooden planter boxes for our centerpieces. She was very accommodating with all our requests. She was the friendliest florist we met. My wife and I had met with 5 florists before talking to her. I wish we came to her first! She txt us pics of the flowers as she was putting everything together making sure it was perfect for us. It was! Flowers were delivered on time and set up how we requested them. Everything looked great! I highly recommend Halsted Flowers for any event. Geneva and her staff really made us feel like family. We were so comfortable working with them. We look forward to continuing my friendship with the shop! read more

Geneva and her team knocked it out of the park for my wedding! They made 2 larger alter pieces for us and everyone commented with how beautiful they were! Long overdue review. This shop was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome flower shop! Super sweet lady.

This is a really unique place to get plants -- especially if you're into succulents and cacti. There's a lot of variety and the prices for the smaller plants are super affordable -- many as low as $6. The staff also did a great job of initiating, helping me pick our what I wanted, and sharing how to care for the plants. Definitely made my first plant-shopping experience great and I can't wait to go back again! read more

I have not used this florist before, but I needed a local one in Lincoln Park. I loved their website and the reviews were good so I took a chance. Was I happy I did! Not only were the flowers beautiful, but the service from Polly was a breath of fresh air. She talked me through what flowers looked great on hand for a "welcome baby girl" arrangement and offered advice on vase size, colors, fragrance and proportion. She called me at home to discuss the delivery later that day and even sent a photo of the final arrangement for me to view. Now, that's what I call above and beyond. It was a pure pleasure dealing with Halstead Flowers. The flowers were gorgeous and the service provided by Polly was top notch from start to finish. Thank you! Now I have a favorite florist in Lincoln Park. read more
