Traditional Eggs benedict with home fries
    Michailah W.

First time visit. I ordered the eggs benedict, extra crispy English muffins with home fries. When my food arrived I have to be honest I was not sure how it would taste for me because the Hollandaise sauce looked a bit thicker than most places I've been. I have to say I really enjoyed this dish and the home fries were good. My friend ordered the raspberry white chocolate pancake with a side of home fries and I ordered a blueberry pancake to go for the next morning. Everything was really good and the coffee was tasty as well. Service was quick and we were seated quickly for a Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. Very attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. If you're ever in Deep River Connecticut, give it a try

    Corned beef hash
    Jason P.

Solid breakfast place in what I imagine is Deep River Center. Nothing too fancy. Just a good, but no frills diner type experience. I asked for a recommendation and our server said Hally Jo's has good corned beef hash. She was correct. They do. Definitely made in house and better than most places. I came across a couple bigger than normal pieces of corned beef and it was quite tasty. The rye toast was good too. I asked if they have iced coffee and our server said yes. I suspect it started at least somewhat hot because the ice didn't last very long. Service was friendly. Some Yelp reviews suggested Hally Jo's can get crowded inside, we actually ate outside at prime breakfast time and we were seated right away and had efficient service. Four Stars

Excellent home made food. Beautiful lemon blueberry pound cake, Cinnabon load, best bagels outside of NY with velvety salmon and cream cheese topper. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the homemade hash.

2 egg breakfast (includes French Toast, bacon, sausage, and 2 eggs)

The most amazing breakfast sandwiches we've had in a long time! We went two weekends in a row, it was that good! They have sit-in dining and take-out at this time, and also have extended hours on the weekends to best accommodate their guests' schedules.

No matter, we were there before 11AM so we were served breakfast. The server we had was excellent she was a former employee of the Coffee Break which was the old restaurant in this location. The place is LOUD. The decor is new and refreshed. There is NO WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS (which surprised me as they just renovated the place. One would think the Town of Clinton would have required it.) I had the Breakfast Wrap with sausage and american cheese. It was good and filling. $7.00 (in May 2026) My companion had the Quinoa Omelette pictured 1/2 eaten ($14.75 in May 2026) which was good. The home fries had a little too much salt but were otherwise excellent. Personally when there is salt actually on the table, I always wonder why the cook just lightly dusts with salt as I can add more. We also ordered a fresh fruit cup which had grapes purple and green, strawberries, and a few hard pieces of honey dew melon. $6.50 (May 2026) In May 2026 the hours are 0700-1430 MON - SAT 0700-1200 SUN ****WARNING**** They stop servicing breakfast items at 11AM They do take credit cards BUT... They used to take it right at the table now, they don't which means you wait to pay. Bad move on the owner's part. There is plenty of free parking. I imagine there will be waits once the summer season gets going so plan to wait (maybe on the weekends)?

There also appears to be extra seating at the back of the restaurant. The menu is small but has plenty of selections, both small and large bites as they call them. Our server, who was very friendly and pleasant as well as the other staff, took our drink orders and let us know what the fish was for the evening. We decided to order the sourdough bread, French onion soup, and two burgers with fries. This is a very relaxed atmosphere, a little in the dark side, and the seating was very tight between tables given the size of the restaurant but we adjusted the table and made it work. The bread arrived hot from the oven with their house butter which I couldn't quite figure out was in it. Almost seemed sweet as if it was a maple syrup base but can't say for sure. The bread was incredible and didn't last long. The French onion soup arrived in a large bowl with a number of crispy croutons and plenty of onions. The soup was very tasty with a little bit of a bit to it. The croutons were a very nice touch as they stayed crispy ti the soup was gone. The burgers arrived hot off the grill with large baskets of very crispy French fries. The burgers were large, cooked medium as requested, with nice slices of Grafton maple smoked cheese, bacon jam. Lettuce, and Dijon mustard. The burgers are very thick and the roll is soft and grilled nicely. The fries, which were right out of the flyer, stayed crispy through the whole meal. There are a couple of steps up into the restaurant so if you have mobility issues it might be a little bit of a challenge. All in all a great little restaurant with incredible food and great service. The next time we're in the area there may be a return trip.

The deli and coffee house has a very antique, old-school vibe that fits nicely with the charm of the area. They offer coffee, sweet treats, and a variety of sandwiches, making it a convenient stop while exploring the town. We ordered the South West and Monte Cristo sandwiches. Both were nicely portioned--bulky sandwiches filled with roasted chicken, fresh tomatoes, and avocado. The food itself was decent and satisfying enough for lunch, but nothing particularly memorable. While we enjoyed the meal, the overall value felt a bit off, especially considering the price point of $38, which seemed high for what we received. That said, Simon's Marketplace works well as a quick and easy lunch spot, especially if you're already in the area and looking for something casual. It's fine, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. Overall rating: 3 out of 5.

My dad went with the Southwestern sandwich and enjoyed it! It's definitely a welcoming stop with great food.

The brunch menu offers a nice assortment of options as we had one member in our party who had some eating restrictions. We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

They have a great selection of menu items. Their beer, wine & cocktail list was very well rounded. The interior is decorated in a warm eclectic theme. I just grabbed a beer. I settled on a Moroccan lamb over noodles but was surprised when I was served a small soup bowl of stew. It had a 1-2 Tbs of clear celluphane noddles at the bottom. While it was solidly good, It was $14- which I found to be exorbitant for the item & serving size. It didn't even come with bread of any kind. I then ordered a house made pretzel $10- which came in a single braided format 10-12 inches long. It arrived with 2 ramekins of cheese sauce & stone ground mustard. I opted for the mustard. I did not care for the cheese sauce. It was okay but I was definitely not bowled over by it. Overall, I just wasn't too impressed with this place. The service was solidly good. The vibe & interior is solidly good. The food was fine but not great. I felt the prices for the items were just too high. They do have a happy hour with a burger & a beer for $12-? I can't actually remember the exact price). I recommend coming for their happy hour when prices are more reasonable.
