I find their card selection fantastic, but they are on the pricey side. I purchase their cards for very special occasions like weddings. It feels as though the store has gradually changed into a gift store. You can find a gift for any occasion here (ie graduation, weddings, baby shower, Christmas, etc). read more

I have been to this store in Guildford several times over the years and have purchased some beautiful cards. A week ago, after quite a bit of searching, my wife picked out two cards that were very nice which I purchased. (These are the kind that is wrapped in plastic and fairly expensive) However, today she decided that one of the cards wasn't quite right for the occasion and tried to return it. Surprise, surprise, they don't take returns even if it is unopened as this was. The girl at the counter said that 'no refund exchange only' is printed on the receipt. That's a great help after you have purchased it. When we mentioned that, the girl said, "I'll call the manager". The manager's excuse was that they have an old system that doesn't have return credit capability. To me it looks like the same system they had a few years ago. Does that mean that when it was new it couldn't do credit returns? That is a sick excuse to avoid giving refunds since they will do exchanges. Every store I have been to that has an 'all sales final policy' verbally notifies their customers of such. Every time I have made a purchase in this store I have dealt with a different clerk and NOT ONE OF THEM has informed me that all sales are final. Today they pointed out that there are two small signs in front of the counter (but not in your line of sight when dealing with the clerk) that state sales are final. If you have been in this store you likely haven't noticed them as they sit among countless other printed items. No matter, they still refused to refund. The manager suggested that my wife keep the card for a while until she could find something in the store that she liked better. How long might that be when the occasion she picked it for is close at hand? I will never shop at this store again and advise any who choose to; be sure that you really want to keep your purchase because once you pay for it, it's yours forever whether you want it or not! read more

My 3 year old little boy and I visited the store today with a friend. My son was super stoked to see all their toys displayed at the front of the store. We walked up to the stuffed bear section to see what was moving on the shelves. It turned out to be one of those stuffed toys that moves and dances around if you pressed a button. My son put his hand out to touch the toy, wanting to push the button when a mid-aged sales woman/cashier reached her hand out to push my son's hand away and said "Please don't touch anything if you are not going to buy!" The question was directed at my son who is only 3! I was two steps away behind my son when this terrible woman shoved my son's hand away. To the store owner: Why are you displaying toys when you do not want kids to touch? Why do you have such inexperience and rude stuff in your store working? I will be filing a formal complaint tomorrow to Hallmark Canada. Unfortunately the store manager was away today. VERY disappointing visit at this particular store. The one at Lougheed mall was great and the stuff was courteous and helpful. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Went to buy baby gift wrap today, and there was NONE. They did, however, have a great selection of Christmas wrap already in stock even though it is early October. I would expect a better selection for all occasion wrapping paper by any store that holds the Hallmark name. read more
