I purchased a new Carrier ac/heating unit from this company. Has a 10 year warranty on parts. However does not include labor. It's only 2 years old and a fan motor went out. They charged $690 in labor to do an hour and a half job. TOTAL RIP OFF. Never do business with them read more

Better off using HB McClure....I have been using Haller for over ten years. I just liked their service until I used them recently. Now they have a membership you have to be a part of. I needed one unit serviced and one unit needed repaired. They said they will call me back about the membership. No one ever called me back about the membership. I made the appointment anyway thinking I would get a call before or they would adjust the bill accordingly. They charged me an almost $200 service fee then an hourly rate on top of that. Meanwhile the overall bill was $800 plus. They supposedly spent 3 hours on one unit after they had already fixed it. They were only supposed to get it running which that was done pretty quickly but spent a lot of time doing things that I didn't ask. They always have been in and out before not sure why they spent all this extra time that was not needed....guess business was slow. I questioned the bill the same day and someone was supposed to call me back but I never received a call back. I won't be using them again they are only about trying to make the most out of each visit - charging a fee and hourly rate and trying to be there all day to make more money is ridiculous. Once I told my husband they are charging hourly, he got them out of there. They had never been there that long in the past. read more

Do NOT use this company!! Really terrible service. Liz, who answers the phone made me pay $80 to answer whether they had a part in stock I needed for a repair. So after I paid the $80, they said they had the part and they could do the repair, so I put down a $1500 deposit for a $4500 job. And then they said they were coming at a certain day and time and then they didn't show up! For several days in a row. Liz would just say, no we're not coming today. I was literally spending hours on the phone trying to get them to show up because they had my $1500 deposit, so I was essentially a hostage stuck with them. Wasted hours on the phone trying to get them to show up, waiting on hold, getting transferred around. It took a full week without air conditioning. And there was nothing I could do other than report them to the Better Business Bureau. Do not get stuck using these people!! read more

We needed a new first floor air conditioner since we had a freon leak. We did a remote video inspection and got a recommendation on the new system we needed. They had the equipment needed and that is impressive with the equipment shortage due to covid. We got scheduled and our guys showed up on time. They were extremely professional, competent and left our place as it was before they walked into the house. I found my new HVAC guys. read more

Needed an HVAC tech to come to clean up what another HVAC company didn't finish from todays emergency service call. 8:15 pm call with a visit at 9:15 pm. Called Haller and in an hour Christian HVAC tech to the rescue. A seasoned professional that went right to the problem with a shop vac and got me back to normal. That other company will be getting this bill and paying for new carpet. Haller tonight was my hero! Thanks Chris! read more

update on my 4 Feb 2025 review. The proper term is not coupling but union. There should have been two dielectric unions installed just before the connection to the water tank. Dielectric unions prevent electrolysis (two different types of metal touching each other) which eats away at one pipe until it leaks. read more

The techs are polite and knowledgeable. Their work is professional. Unfortunately, when you call for an appointment the office staff are rude and demeaning. They act like it's a nuisance to have to take your call. Thought the first time it happened it might have been a bad day for whoever I talked to, but it happened every time I called. I've had acquaintances say the same thing. I will never use this business again. They obviously aren't concerned about serving customers. read more

You might want to actually think twice before using them. The Service for us has been pathetic. We have zero confidence in their technicians and the company actually knowing what they are doing!! You know it is sad that you guys installed a garbage unit supposedly as a high end AC HVAC unit and a completely new heating system at a cost of over 25000+ and I continue to pay large service bills just 3 years later. $1800 this time. Really? This AC unit completely failed in less than 3 years and it was their supposedly "High end unit" ....a unit large enough for a house Twice my size. This has been such A bad decision choosing Haller as they have shown us nothing but a Pathetically disorganized company with service calls, and it's been an even worst decision spending the money with them thinking they stood behind their work and valued quality products. Very sad!! I personally recommend you look elsewhere if you want quality and someone that stands behind their work. They've made Mistake after mistake literally every time they come out. It's like I'm dealing with the 3 stooges and I'm stuck in some bad comedy show. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. We lost heat at 1130am on a Sunday. I called and talked to the girl and set up a $190 emergency service call. The girl on the phone said she could not give me a time or even an estimated time on the techs arrival. Which I thought was odd. Four and half hours of waiting and the girl called back telling me they would NOT be coming out today and would be coming Monday between noon an 5pm. WTF!!! Its freezing and we have no heat. What kid of half a--ed company is this. I would NEVER recommend this company. read more

So unfortunate when you have a company that provides poor service and then doesn't take responsibility. Their own techs agree that they price gouge but the company sets the numbers. $1300 for a clogged toilet. They did not get the toilet unclogged, would not service as a recall, busted a hole in the line, and refuse to return funds after another company had to come complete the job. Poor customer service and the dispatchers and service team are so out of sinc with each other. We now are forced to take legal action to see those funds returned. Just sickening. Go with any other company and save yourself time and hassle. read more

For the second time in two months, we are experiencing a low voltage short in our Haller installed air-conditioning units. (three units installed, same issue in second unit) When the replacement units were installed, Haller leaves the original lines to the external units in place, as well as zip-tying the electrical to the coolant line, which is known to cause shorts. For an easy $1000, they come out and fix the issue they caused by not installing correctly the first time. Finally, while they advertise 24/7 support, as of right now it's four days before they are willing to come out and address the second short due to their installation. Until then, no air conditioning. read more

I called Haller as per recommendations from the LG dryer technician as "highly recommeded" to have the ductwork cleaned due to the dryer overheating. However, I called Haller for an estimate; the office advised that the crew had to "assess" the job before giving an estimate. The service crew estimated $450 to clean around 35 feet of dryer ductwork! I felt this was excessive! I opted to do it myself with Linteater, a $40 dryer vent cleaning from lowes, to clean the ductwork using a drill & vacuum in about 2 hours. Haller has a $79 service charge to provide the estimate! I would not recommend Haller due to the excessive charges for cleaning dryer ductwork. Recommend calling for other estimates or looking at DIY options. read more

I have been using Haller for a couple years to service my elderly moms air conditioner for her mobile home and also was on the maintenance plan for $14/month which doubled to $28/month this year. The unit was aging and I had them replace several components over the last 2-3 years costing hundreds of dollars each time. They suggested replacing it with a new unit because they said it's on its last leg. Recently the neighbor said it was making a noise so I called Haller and they said we were due for a maintenance visit anyway. The technician Braydon showed me a pipe he said was frozen and then said the unit had no charge left and would need over $1000 fix. So I said it's time for a new one and they put me in contact with their sales people who quoted a price of $5300 for an Amana unit or $5800 for a Carrier. On installation day they called and said they couldn't do the install because the electric hookup wasn't up to code and posed a fire hazard! They offered to repair it for an extra fee. This was SUCH a blessing in disguise!! I told them I wanted to look for an electrician to fix the "electrical issue" and then found out I could get a new unit installed by a contractor that specializes in mobile home HVAC for $3200 or $4000 depending on what type of unit was needed. In the mean time my brother-in-law said he knew of someone that could do the work and they would come out and give an estimate. My sister just called and said they checked the unit and it's working fine!!! HALLER tried to rip us off for over $5K!! read more

Haller installed our new gas furnace, so naturally we used them for maintenance/repair. The furnace developed trouble, but they couldn't solve the problem despite three or four service trips. Their service advice tops the ludicrous scale. The boiler was getting air in the line resulting in no heat. Relatedly there was a leaky valve, so we had water issues. One of Haller's techs said the valve cap (which is supposed to remain loose to allow air to escape) could be tightly closed without consequence. Well, every three or four days we had to physically loosen the cap, let the air escape and then tighten it again to prevent a water leak and to get heat. We had several appointments with them because of this issue. Finally, we switched companies. They identified the problems immediately. They were amazed that there was no pressure in the boiler and showed me the gauge which read zero. I told them a tech from the other company said the gauge was broken, not worry about the reading, and showed them where he wrote "broke" on the face of the gauge. They assured me that was not the problem. The gauge was working fine. The problem actually was the lack of pressure. We were running the system for over a year with little pressure in the system, had weekly loss of heat, and had to constantly loosen the valve cap. The new company replaced the valves that needed to be replaced, and the boiler is running beautifully ever since - no leaks, gauge registering as it should, and no more early morning trips to the basement to bleed the boiler. Our complicity in all this is that we waited so long to switch companies. Our last call with Haller resulted in a rather confrontational exchange. We subscribed to their annual service plan which promised service within 24 hours. When I called about having no heat, and this was in the winter, they tried to schedule us three days later. After some heated discussion they relented, but why should that have been necessary? It was their guarantee! I wasn't asking for more than they had promised. Never again with Haller. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. They scheduled an appointment with a window between 12 noon and 5 pm today which is a Saturday. No one showed up. I called three times asking for an ETA. Was told plumber was held up on another job. No ETA nor offer to send someone else. It's now 8:12 pm and not a word from any of them. Was told too they had no way of getting in touch with the technician but would send an email to the scheduling team or some other group. Email??? No one likes to have their time wasted especially me but if you're someone who does, feel free to call them. Just don't expect service. read more

I had a blocked drain in the air handler in the attic the service tech said it would be a total of 350 to clean it out and what he done was hooked a vacuum sweeper hose to the out side drain pipe and said he cleaned the pan in the attic. Tech showed up on time, replaced capacitor for AC unit. Tech was very nice, knowledgable. He was on site about an hour but because we do not have membership, charged $490 plus service call to replace part. Haller has flat fees for all work. Would have been $250 if we were members. Still kind of high in my opinion. read more

I have been completely disappointed with this company. I tried for three years to do business with them. I have uploaded some pictures to show how careless they are. They obviously have no regard to your investment. we had a repair issue a few months back. The first tech made the issue worse, it took a second visit to fix the issue. I canceled the subscription service yet they continued to send me invoices. I can't believe this was even acceptable work in their eyes. Drilled holes wrong, Installed the drainage pipes wrong....twice, it took a third time to get it wrong (it isn't acceptable to this day} Those drilled holes in the side of my home are going to effect the value of my home and they go the entire way up the side of my house. When it comes time for me to repair all this it will be on my dime. Just an overall horrible experience. read more

Good experience. Recently purchased a new rental home and we used Haller to perform some needed maintenance and updates to shoddy plumbing done by the previous owner. The service tech who came out to look at the work was pleasant, knowledgeable, and took time to explain exactly what needed to be done (I have a background in this stuff but I no longer have time to perform the work myself. I agreed with his assessment). The service was performed as scheduled and to our satisfaction. It was not cheap but I feel their pricing was fair. I have them scheduled to perform furnace service in the near future and plan on using them for other needs in the future also. I will also add that the staff I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and helpful. RECOMMEND read more

This company has gone downhill. Called them on Friday morning December 23rd with a failing heater system. It was 6 degrees outside, the temperature in the house was falling. I had 8 out of town guests in the house for the Holiday They told me they could not have anyone come out till Tuesday, December 27!!. Today I got a text telling me the appointment was now Wednesday the 28th THAT'S 5 DAYS LATER !! I have their Premier Service Agreement and pay that stinking fee every month. I'm pretty handy so I asked if a technician could call me and I could tell him the error code - maybe figure out how to get it working. Which I have done successfully before - Sorry they said- no one is available!! They reminded me that there would be a $79.00 fee just to come out plus whatever parts would be needed Again - What the hell good is the service agreement ???? I canceled the service call and was able to get the unit working myself Get your act together Haller! You pretty much SUCK right now! read more

Had an electric water heater replaced. The quoting process was ok, the technician tried to upsell things that I didn't want. When I made it clear I didn't want these add ons, they were understanding and told me where I could go if I changed my mind later or wanted to get them myself. I paid for and got exactly what was quoted, no surprises. The technicians that came to install were very respectful and careful during the installation which is much appreciated. The final installation looks professional and functions as well as I could have hoped for. Overall I am pleased with the service. read more

I have no idea what happened to those who gave this company a bad review. I set up a meeting online and they were prompt and very professional. The service tech reviewed with me everything he was going to do before service so I knew what the expected charge would be. There was an additional part needed later and the tech explained why it was in the original estimate to make sure I was aware. I am very happy with the service we have provided and it was a much better experience than we have had with another company. I would not hesitate to contact them in the future for our needs read more

Haller did all the work for our home heating oil to natural gas conversion a few years ago. They have since done duct cleaning and installed a whole home dehumidifier. As well as a few quotes that we did not use (hot water heater, solar panels). With all things being equal we paid close to 6 thousand to install a new trane 2.5 ton, 13 seer a/c unit, furnace, natural gas hub, lines, electrical, pipes, freon, etc. This includes a warranty and first two cleanings. Annual preventive maintenance cleaning for our A/C unit runs in the 100 dollar range. With a high numner of qualified HVAC companies out there, we think it was wise to use Haller. Relatively quick professional installation, cleaned up site afterwards, followed up with any questions and issues. read more

We called to have our kitchen sink snaked and a plumber came to our house and quoted us $480 - an exorbitant amount for this procedure. We obviously declined, they could have given us the quote over the phone as we told them it needed snaked, but they sent someone out to give us that ridiculous quote. We received a $79. bill today for the absolutely pointless visit. Would give ZERO stars if it was an option. read more

Our gas water heater stopped working properly so I called Haller to come in and check it out since they previously serviced the units in this house. This is my first house and we've only been here a little over a year, so I'm not very experienced with these things. That inexperience came back to bite me. They came out and the guy knew right away what the fault was due to the blinking light sequence on the gas valve, and he said he could either repair the faulty part or replace the whole water heater, since it is 16 years old. I don't fault him for offering the full replacement since yeah, it is definitely up there in age. He also wasn't "selling hard" either because he said if he replaced the part only, I could very well get a couple more years out of the current unit. But I decided to go for the replacement rather than spend a couple hundred to fix the part and then end up replacing the whole unit in a few years anyway if I'm lucky. As an added bonus he could install the new unit that same day. Here's the issue: his quote for the full replacement was around $2700, including the water heater and expansion tank, and that was only if I also joined the $10/mo membership service. I ended up agreeing to it because the membership service helps cover regular maintenance and such, and it would have been hundreds of extra dollars if I wasn't a member. Only after I agreed to it and after he was well into installing the new unit did I come to realize through research that $2700 is an astronomically high price for a new water heater install, even including the expansion tank and removal of the old unit. I approached the technician about the cost while he was getting something from his truck, and asked if there was a less expensive one available. He just said that the unit was the one the company installs and didn't provide any alternative. I didn't know what to do so I just let him finish the job. It's a shame. Literally all of my friends and family's jaws have dropped when I tell them about it and they all have unanimously told me that's wayyyyyyy more expensive than it should have been - as in, double to triple (!) the price of what the people I talked to paid for theirs. I mean, I'm sure it's a very good water heater but I'm just a regular guy living in a regular townhouse with one other person and I don't need the top of the line. Just something to heat my water up. I gave this review two stars rather than one because the service was good and the people were professional (particularly with health and safety precautions during these COVID times), and most of all, I take responsibility for being an uninformed consumer. After all, I could have just said no if I wasn't an idiot and if I didn't just jump at the first quote I was given. I'm sharing my experience so anyone reading this can learn the lesson I learned the hard way: SHOP AROUND. I trusted Haller because they're a big name and I see their trucks around all the time. When they give you a quote - whether it's Haller or anybody - don't agree right away, even if it means another cold shower or two that you have to deal with while you shop around. Just say "thank you, I'll shop around and get back to you." It's tempting to fix the issue NOW, but it's always better to compare prices first. If I did that, I may have hundreds if not more than a thousand extra bucks in my pocket right now. I know that now, but it was a VERY costly lesson to learn. read more

Had Haller Enterprises come to the house because the air conditioner stopped. The technician arrived and said the blower motor was bad, and the capacitor and contacts should also be replaced. The total would be $1742.71 including a $383.56 discount because of being on their maintence program. With it being a hot summer day what was a single mom putting a child through college suppose to do? The technician was at the location for 3 hrs according to my son and that included him taking a break to "cool off" I was talking with gentleman who owns a well established hvac company " but isn't taking on any new customers" and showed him the bill and he instant reply was " WOW they took her " so I then began to look up the parts to see rough prices. I am attaching pictures of the prices of OEM parts that the public can purchase and I would assume that a large business can purchase these parts at a discount lower then the general public. Now Haller does not charge a per hour rate - the technician determines a price when they figure out what is wrong and that includes labor. So in my opinion the prices they charged were out of this world and I will let you decide and form your own opinion. A dispatch fee of $79.00 I can accept this. But to replace the blower motor they charged $1299.85 the actual part could be purchased for $225.82 from Granger, to replace the capacitor $235.47 which could be purchased for $11.88 from Lowes and to replace the contacts $256.78 which could be purchased for 15.99 from Amazon. The total for all the parts if you bought them yourself would of cost $253.69. I am attaching pictures of all this with this review. In my opinion a business needs to make money however the technician was at the location 3 hrs and again the total amount charged was $1742.71 which again was discounted $383.56, the total parts could have been purchased for $253.69 which leads to the amount of $1485.93 which would you call a reasonable fee for a business to charge for profit on a 3 hr. job for labor? You can form your own opinion I did call the company and speak with a Jim on 8-16-22 thinking this was a error but after a 20 min conversation he said he truly thought that since the technician did some cleaning by hosing the condenser coil and flushing the drain with the garden hose, brushing some dirt from the 2nd heat exchanger and looking at the system which he said needs to be totally replaced, The amount charged to the homeowner was a good value. The bottom line is when the technician left the AC worked however you can decided is $1485.93 is a amount you can justify spending as profit on a 3 hr. job. read more

As a summary: you're going to get price gouged. Find someone else. First call, technician comes out for a cleaning on a one unit HVAC system and finds a leak. Surprising, but ok. The technician then quotes me a rate approximately five times another outfit for the same work. I doubt this is a case of quality costs more at that multiplier. Move on to cancelling the service contract. You can't talk directly to the people to cancel the contract. You can only have your message forwarded. It took over a week to hear back, and that was after two follow ups. They'll charge your card while they have you on the phone the first time, though. I expected to pay out the difference for the cleaning that was done, but apparently the one that was actually done was much more costly than the one advertised on the Haller site. read more

Very disappointed. We called w/ a water leak emergency and gave them the code to get into a vacant property. Somehow this was lost. They never left a voicemail (we admit we should have also checked back) and never got into the property. When we contacted them the next day we discovered they had not been there and rushed out to find extensive water/damage everywhere. We now have to replace alot flooring and clean up a big mess due to their errors and not leaving a simple voice mail telling us they did not get in the house. When we tried to professionally discuss this their responses were uncaring, and cold. read more

So last night our central air unit that has a heat pump and handles both heating and cooling for our house just stopped cooling. It had been working pretty bad for years, but we were assured by Haller technicians that it was working just fine. It would read 70 in the house and feel more like 85 (very hot). We have likely been bleeding so much in extra money from the electricity we've been wasting in having to run the unit constantly on a very cool setting just to make the house comfortable. We called to find out how much it would cost to have someone out and were surprised to find out that they were going to charge $80 just to come out, and then a service fee on top of it, plus whatever repairs and parts we'd get charged for. Not wanting to commit to the potential for a huge bill and having to pay them to get it, we called a friend who does HVAC but mostly for businesses. He came out and said our unit was completely out of coolant. COMPLETELY OUT. I said, "That's impossible! Haller has been out here every year cleaning and maintaining the thing!" They had been out just a year and a half prior - a little longer than normal for service - but we had a baby and were too busy to remember. Still..coolant should last for years. So, we're clued in by our friend, that they were likely just topping it off to a bare minimum to make it work and then leaving, and brushing off the fact that is worked like crap. I'm betting the goal was to get us to buy a new system that we didn't need. What a great reward for our loyal business, huh? The coolant is extremely expensive because they're phasing it out (R22), costing about $90 a pound! We're going to have to pay around $500 to completely fill the unit with coolant now and can't you just imagine how much Haller would have come out and charged us for a problem they caused by not filling the coolant. I would recommend anyone that has their unit serviced by them goes out and makes sure it is actually filled with coolant. Having no coolant can cause the compressor to go and we're lucky as hell that didn't happen. It should be a basic part of maintenance and most customers I'm sure assume they are doing it. For the cost of maintenance ($168) they damn well should be especially when most of the time there is nothing majorly wrong! At the very least, since in this case the coolant is very expensive, they should have told us, "Hey. Your coolant is low, but we have to charge you extra to fill it because of this." It's unbelievable to me that they would be so shady about the whole thing. As if families don't have enough struggle in these trying times. And when the unit ultimately fails from their bad maintenance, they get to come in to 'save the day' and charge you even more! read more

As bad as it gets. a Joke of a company. Use any company but this one. First they come to my house and say they can't reconnect my stove because the line was rusted. Ok replace it. Of course that requires another appointment which they literally made on their own without asking me. They sent me a text confirming this rogue appt and I replied "no" to the confirmation. Of course they show up anyway and call me wondering why I wasn't there. Then 2 days later a bill shows up in the mail they didn't do. So I call and ask them to please turn my stove back on that they disconnected and I make an appointment on my own accord this time. I explain I can't be there and key left under the front door mat. So of course the appointment comes and the dude can't show up cause he's supposedly sick. Next appointment comes and the guy gets the key and goes in. He calls me at work and is like "uhhhh how can o bill you if you aren't here?" Dude Idk maybe in the mail like the other bill you sent me? So the guy leaves cause I'm not there. I usually read reviews prior to engaging with any company. For some reason I did not with Haller. Thankfully, I was saved from the mistake of using this company. Recently purchased an older home and wanted the 200-amp breaker panel redone (already purchased panel and breakers). Scheduled an estimate 2 weeks in advance - an afternoon appointment with a window of 12:00-5:00. At 4:00 on the day of the appointment I receive a call that the tech will not be able to make the appointment. After a discussion where I was talked to like a child and where it was very clear that they only cared about their schedule and not the customer's, and against my better judgement, I rescheduled the estimate. Worst company ever! Horrific customer service! They accused me of not paying a bill from 17 months ago despite having proof it was payed. Spoke with 6 different people, one by the name of Kerry, who claims to be a manager, but was rude and accusatory - questioning whether my check cleared despite never having an issue with my check book ever! i was told there was no way to be connected to the President of the company. It leads me to believe the President couldn't be bothered to speak with customers, so this not caring about customers obviously starts at the top. In all fairness, they do good work, but are very expensive. I would not recommend using Haller unless they are your last alternative, but if you do use them, pray you never have an issue. It is on me to prove my payment, despite them having full knowledge of a major flaw in their bookkeeping system. They hired temporary workers (most likely with little or no training and without knowledge of the company's operations) and asked them to call customers like collection gestapo. There apparently is no procedure in place to verify if the calls are warranted. Just send them money whether you owe it or not. This is the epitome of slipshod operations if you ask me. Stay away! read more
