Countryside Propane - untitled

Countryside Propane

I had a 1000-gallon propane tank installed in-ground. Countryside performed the entire job…read more Excavation, dropped the tank in the ground, ran the line to the house and finished the connection to the inside line that the HVAC company had run from the furnace and stubbed to the outside wall. They cleaned up well. Very professional and outstanding work. Everyone at Countryside were easy to work with, extremely helpful and polite. This was my first propane experience. I knew I wanted to own the tank and bury it in-ground, but they offered excellent suggestions and insight based on my projected needs. I am more than pleased. Would, and have already, highly recommend. I do not understand the 2 bad reviews that I see on Yelp, but they both seem like typical unfair reviewers by folks who misunderstood or made a mistake on their end. My first call, the site survey, the tank install; all handled with genuinely nice and helpful staff at Countryside. Plenty of little but thoughtful and quality touches, that as a perfectionist, I greatly appreciate. And finally, they filled the tank for 10 cents less than the closest competitor, and 30 cents less than the highest quotes I received. (So I originally posted this under Countryside Fuel and LP Gas in Myerstown. Oops. Sorry!)

UPDATE**** 3/20/17 I was contacted by Heller's just now and…read morethey have offered to repair my driveway.**** If there was 0 stars, I would have given it. Here is a copy of a complaint I filed with the BB this morning. These people are unscrupulous and will not take responsibility. Do not buy Propane or anything else from them. "On or about 2/6/17 I received a propane delivery from Heller's Gas. (My wife has the bill at home so I don't have the exact date but I can provide that if needed) 2 days later I noticed that there was a large davit in my driveway where a vehicle had bottomed out. There were only 2 vehicles that had visited us in those days and 1 was FedEx and the other was Heller's Gas. I called both and asked if they could talk to their drivers and get back to me. FedEx opened an internal investigation and it was proven that they had a regular van that came to our house and there would have been no reason for the van to need to use my turn around (paved hill) and additionally, regular cars or vans will not bottom out in my turn around. I called Troy of Heller's Gas and he told me that he would talk to the driver and ask her if she recalled bottoming out in my driveway. Based on the damage, it would be impossible for someone to not hear the impact/scraping. I waited and waited and waited. I texted pictures to Troy and left him voice messages that went ignored.Eventually he referred me to Jason the manager. Jason also ignored and avoided my phone calls and eventually told me that he was waiting to hear back from his boss as to what they were going to do. All I ever wanted was for them to talk to the driver and ask her is she remembered bottoming out in my driveway. Instead, they took a vow of silence which to me felt like an admission of guilt. It has been over 7 weeks since I first called. I called and left a message last week and told them that I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau by the end of this week if I did not get a response. They do not care about their customers and seem to take the route of ignore and hope the customer gives up. This is unacceptable and the only resolution I will accept at this point is a complete repair of the damage. I appreciate that the BBB exists otherwise people like this would continue to treat their customers like garbage and get away with it.

ordered propane online on Sunday with my tank at 15%. It's now Thursday night, still no delivery…read moreand my tank is now at 3%. I doubt I'll have any hot water or heat by the morning and will have to pay a $120 fee for a safety check if the tank is empty. Also, what's with the $9.95 delivery fee each time the tank is filled! A delivery fee is usually for the option of having something delivered but since there is no option, unless someone can tell me how to pick propane up in my car, how can there be a fee?

Unfamiliar with the whole set-up I would need I found their contact and staff extremely helpful from the get-go. Site review, placement of tank and needed line all fell into place nicely. I wasn't ready for the safety check right away as the pool/filter was not yet opened and operating. They made the extra effort and came out the day after I opened for the safety check. Early next morning propane delivery and I have a heated pool. Grandkids are happy. Highly recommended office staff, technicians and great service. Thank you Patriot Propane for a smooth undertaking.

I actually received the delivery on Wednesday around 5:30am, waking my family and pets. To me delivery in the hours of darkness and before the family is awake is not acceptable and not safe. Limited visibility conditions during darkness can be avoided especially during non emergency and should be avoided. I tried to contact the manager and left a message to return my call but never heard back. I guess they weren't too concerned about customer feedback. I do not recommend this company for residential service.

I have been a long time customer for oil delivery. I have…read morebeen cleaning my boiler myself for the past 20 yrs. I neglected to clean for the past few years so I thought maybe I would start having someone else take care of this annually. I called Countryside to see how much it would cost and was told $189 for a one-time cleaning, or $120 if I agreed to have its cleaned with them every year. I asked all that was involve in the cleaning for $120 and the lady I was talking to read off of a list telling me everything that they would do. I was happy with that price, and it included the entire cleaning so I told her I would have them clean my boiler from now on. The serviceman shows and begins the cleaning. Now while he was in the middle of cleaning my boiler, he comes to me a tells me because the boiler hasn't been cleaned in a few years the price would be higher. I asked how much and he said $189. I wasn't very happy to hear this but now I felt stuck because if I tell him no on the price, he may do something to my boiler. So I agreed. Then he tells me the price will be $189 extra on top of the $120. Now I am really pissed. He explains to me that the ladies who I talk to on the phone don't know what they are talking about when they give the prices. I asked him how long it will take to vacuum the boiler, and he tells me about 30 mins. That is $189 for that 30 mins and I am sure he was done in less time than that. I also told him I bet I'm not the first person be get upset because of the bad pricing I got on the phone, and he agreed that I was not alone. He did call and get me a small discount because he knew I was not happy about this. I still agreed to have him finish because I don't want him to mess up by boiler if I say no. I still figure maybe there was some kind of mistake made, so I submitted a complaint on their website. It's been two weeks now and there is no reply back to my complaint. Maybe the lady who gave me the bad pricing reads the complaints and just deleted it? Is Countryside doing this intentionally to make more money? Be careful if you are dealing with this company.
