George Strohm, Dan Grumbine, Tom Strohm were who I worked with. Bought Strohm Plumbing and electrical. Started a pool business and did terrible work on our pool replacing the liner, $7000 later. Have fought with them for 2 years to come and do the repairs. Finally their pool tech admitted he couldn't do the work needed. Dan agreed for me to find a quote from another pool company to have the work done. The company gave us a quote. A month later, we find out the company was filing bankruptcy. From what I hear, this isn't the first time strohm companies have filed like this. Stay away from companies with any of these 3 men involved. read more

Came out to do a yearly cleaning and checkup for "free". They broke a part on the unit disconnecting it and charged almost $500 to fix it. The part cost $50 at most. Do not recommend. read more

In February, while out of town, tech replaced a thermostat & zone valve in approximately 2 hours. Billed $1007 for parts that cost $130.50. We are retirees on fixed income & believe the bill was exorbitant. read more

George Strohm did a replacement of our entire HVAC system. The technicians were well dressed, polite and knowledgeable. We've been through an entire heating and cooling season now and the system works flawlessly. Since having it installed a technician has come by twice at no charge to ensure the system is working right. I could not be happier with George Strohm! read more

quick to respond but charged $1284.00 for 3 hours of work, we priced out the parts at less than $60. Based on our calculations they charged us $378.00 per hour. Requested itemized bill and they just emailed the total cost. read more

Called for emergency service during a hurricane. i thought my sump pump was broken but turned out it wasn't keeping up with the water. They came back to assess damage after 6" of flooding. They installed a new sump pump, they fixed the hot water heater and checked the furnace. I've met 6 people throughout this mess and they all have been wonderful. kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. Also very fair with pricing. as issues arose they waived some fees. I can't say enough about this company. I had tried another company on the night of the hurricane and was turned away even though I'd been a customer for over 10 years (I wasn't signed up for a service plan, so that was the reason). I don't have one with Strohm but that didn't matter. they were here in 30 minutes. Highly recommend read more

Called to have a small leak repaired at my cottage in Mount Gretna. Person I spoke with told me I would be advised of the cost of repair before work was started. That never happened. When work was done I was presented with a bill of almost 500.00. I paid it and called to complain and was told someone would call me back. That also never happened. Will never use them again. This company was quick to respond and make it to our house for an emergency furnace repair. The repairman was extremely kind and pleasant, and he went above and beyond to make sure every single tiny detail was in order. Even though there were some challenges including a brand new part that was broken straight out of the box, the repair was reasonably priced and done quickly. My elderly handicapped mother called Strohm several times during the summer in an attempt to have yearly maintenance done on her furnace. After many unreturned calls she was finally able to have a technician stop by to do the work. The technician told her there was an issue with the pilot light not staying on which he could not figure out and that there may need to be a part ordered. He would get input back at the shop and contact her the following week. During this visit he also measured the full bathroom to get a quote on a possible remodel. He then left, charged her $375, left no receipt, and never heard from anyone again. As I live out of state, I came into town this month to help my mother with numerous business matters which included dealing with what was clearly this business taking advantage of my mother. After going to the business in person (no mgmt available to speak with on a business day) and letting the secretary know my extreme unhappiness with this matter and that it will be resolved, I received a call from the new business partner 30 minutes later. He apologized and stated he would have someone out the next business day to complete the job properly. This was the same day I had to leave town but two technicians did show up. Resolution was that a new chimney liner would be needed and they would call my mother to come back and give her a quote. Two weeks pass and once again nothing from anyone at this company. I proceeded to once again contact the new business partner who proceeded to berate me and make excuses for his poor business practices which actually included the hurricane that was still out in the Atlantic ocean posing absolutely no immediate threat to the Lebanon area! In review, no quotes were ever received and any further business with this man and his business ended at that moment. A clear attempt to take advantage of my elderly handicapped mother was done by charging $375 for the pleasure of dealing with this company. A good businessman does NOT make excuses...period. A good businessman does NOT take advantage of elderly handicapped people. The customer pays your bills and you clearly are NOT a good businessman. As they say every dark cloud has a silver lining.... a new chimney insert was quoted and installed within 3 days of contacting another company. Their work was absolutely professional, outstanding and cheaper to the point they also got additional business to be done for my mother and will continue to do so going forward. The unprofessionalism, lies and excuses presented by George Strohm plumbing and heating was inexcusable and others should take note there are other less expensive, professional companies that would look forward to having your business! read more
