Food was absolutely amazing. The fries, boneless wings! They had a variety of sauces for you to choose from too!

But it got even better. It used to be a soda shop back in the day and there are historical pictures and artifacts placed around the store. All that is nice, but the best part was the food and service. We ordered lunch off the menu and all of it was cooked great and had a real "mom and pop" type taste. We always try to steer away from chain restaurants just because we like to try local food. This business did not disappoint. So, the service was excellent. I feel bad because I cannot remember our server's same, but she was great. She had been there only two weeks and was from Syracuse. That's all I know. But she was super helpful with the menu and she knew the history and gave us a tour of the shop. We arrived for lunch around 11 am and the place was quiet, but by noon this was where the locals came for lunch. It got lively. Great lunch, great service, great ambiance. Seriously. We brought the kids which makes a large party...and the staff was very accommodating. Were were a party of six. No issues seating us or waiting for food. Thanks for making our experience a positive one.

Unfortunately,…read morewe couldn't sit outside because of the rain, but our table inside still offered a great view of the water. The restaurant wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests to give it a nice atmosphere. It felt comfortable, relaxed, and not noisy at all. We started with the Kung Pao Cauliflower, which was excellent. Even my kids, who don't usually enjoy vegetables, ate every bite. For their meals, both kids ordered brick oven pizzas. My older child had the Labrador and finished the entire pizza by himself, while my younger child ordered the Authentic with pepperoni and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered the fish of the day, and I chose the scallop special. Overall, the food was very good, the service was pleasant, and the waterfront setting made for an enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

I was confused as to whether that's the norm, as almost every table was available, yet they expected that we had reservations. Sat outside and our waitress wasn't very quick, to our dismay. Drinks were terrible (Bloody Mary and matcha latte) but food was great. Took us much, much longer than we expected for a "quick" lunch, about two hours, but left happy and fed, overall.

Jake's on the Water - The contrast of lighting doesn't show this well, but we had an "interior" table tucked well back but still had a great river/lake/flow view.

We were very pleased with the food, and location near the base. Many people were coming in to take out so you could tell that this is a loved spot. I ordered bibimbap and it was very very good. I typically like the dolsot bibimbap, but it was not an option, so I was surprised how good my dish was. The vegetables were fresh and well cooked, the flavors were excellent. The beef was very tasty. I also enjoyed the banchan - in particular the cucumber kimchee was fantastic. It was probably the best I've had anywhere (at least in recent memory). The regular cabbage kimchee was good too, and the pickled daikon were tangy. They offer small, medium and large sides of the banchan, and I could definitely see ordering extra of those. Our server said she makes the cucumber kimchee fresh every day multiple times a day to keep the cukes from getting soggy. My friend got the Ja Jang Myon which was very good too. The noodles were a great texture, and the portion of meat and sauce was generous. You can also get soju here! The only thing that is keeping my review from being 5 stars is the price. While I understand that these prices are probably necessary given the location, it was much higher than in a larger city such as Rochester. But other than that, I had a great experience and would come back again!
