This past week I have gone to Zero Dock Street for two separate occasions, one for a private luncheon and the other to grab a bite to eat with my husband. At the luncheon I had the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The waffle was cooked perfectly and the chicken was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My husband and I stopped in for a drink as well as to try their chili since it is part of the chili cook-off. The chili www delicious and so far is my husbands favorite in the area! My husband got two beers he really enjoyed. I had one of their February special cocktails- the strawberry mojito. It was actually pretty bitter and had to ask for some sprite to help. It was 10 dollars so a little overpriced for the area. We ordered two desserts to go and they were fine. Nothing special, and to be honest 8.50 a slice, was a little bit of sticker shock, especially when they weren't that great. read more

One of our newest soldiers lives in Carthage, and we wanted to have a welcoming meal for him. Upon searching up places to eat, Zero Dock Street Restaurant and Bar popped up and looked promising. Now, I can't speak for how things are during dinner hours, but during lunch, it was nice and quiet. We were quickly seated when we entered, and the staff was very friendly. This being our first visit here, we decided to order a few items. We ordered the Stuffed Jalapeños, Sweet Potato Skins, Calamari Tower, Onion Ring Tower, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Beech Hill Burger and the Build Your Own Burger. First this place was loud. SO LOUD. I don't know if it's the shape of the lower level or there is no noise dampening or both, but all three of us left with a headache. It was a full house, but there is plenty of space between the tables. It should not be that brain splitting. The spinach bacon dip? This was easily our favorite thing any of us ate. I could sit there and eat a vat of it with a spoon. It was everything great about a spinach dip with that really nice, smoky flavor from the bacon - think if spinach artichoke dip and good collard greens had a love child. So good. That's where the honeymoon ended for us. We made the drive out from Watertown, because my husband wanted Ribeye. They were out. The sirloin he ordered instead was bland and overcooked. The kid thought his pasta piemonte was ok and my log jam burger was one of the more mediocre burgers I've had. It should have been super complex flavorful, but all it managed was disconcertingly sweet. If you want a burger for dessert, this is your jam (pun intended). Service was fine. Would we go back? This was a first for me. First, the food was great. I am very glad to have a restaurant in Carthage that makes great food. The experience I had today was amazing. After ordering a few appetizers, I decided to order a salad. When the waitress asked what dressing I would like, I said, "it's the chefs choice." She understood and went inside to place the order. About 5 minutes later a different server brought the salads. He asked me, "was it you who ordered your dressing as the choice of the chef?" To which I responded, "yes." He then did something I will never forget. He presented their entire selection of dressings exclaiming, "well, considering all of our dressings are made in house and all are delicious, I will let you decide." He then allowed me to literally sample each dressing they had before making my choice. The new mystery waiter turned out to be the head chef. I don't know about you, but that says something. This is a person who is passionate and actually cares about his patrons. Needless to say, I will be returning and will be recommending to all of my friends. When they opened during COVID I was scared for them, but this place has been an amazing addition to the community. From quick bites after a long day outside to late night beers and apps with my friends, and date night dinners, this is my go to restaurant in the Watertown area. I luckily live two blocks down so I often walk down to eat. Ricky is the best bartender around, fun and gives great recommendations. Recommendations: All the pizzas are amazing, and the GF crust is great! Pulled pork is yummy and spicy, love the GF bun as well! Spinach and bacon dip is sooo savory and amazing. Pretzel rods are super yummy, great for a quick snack. Wings are super yummy and all the sauces are well prepared. ALL of the burgers are incredible! Wow. We just had Sunday Brunch at Zero Dock in Carthage. It was amazing. Sherry (The Chef) puts on a divine assortment of breakfast and lunch items. Even Dave liked it and he hates everything. Brandy was our server. She was friendly and delightful. Brunch is every Sunday 10 am to 2 pm. Only $16 per adult. We'll definitely be back. Close by home in 5 minutes. Yay! read more

THE best Burgers I've had in CNY/NNY. Their proprietary ground beef blend is amazing. Come for the Burgers and the ambiance but PLEASE stay (and order extra) of their Whiskey Beer Cheese. No shame in saying when I order their Tower of Onion rings for an app I dunk the onion rings in their beer cheese. And when the burgers get served I dump their beer cheese on them as well. Space is nice, my wife ate there over a year ago and the food was good. Tonight all four of our entrées were not good. Our friends said their meals weren't good, no flavor and grilled fish was dry. My wife had a hamburger that was over cooked and had little flavor. I had the pork chops, which were two very small and very thin pork chops that were severely over cooked. The garlic mashed potatoes were barely smashed and had no garlic, no butter, cream, or anything that typically makes them mashed potatoes. Our two dinners, a pretzel and cheese appetizer, and two drinks were $57 and change. If I spent that at any of my favorite places in Clayton or Sacketts Harbor we would have had an amazing meal. Can't recommend this place for dinner unless they make some serious changes in their kitchen. read more

Dock street is amazing! The most eclectic menu around, with TONS of gluten free or allergy-sensitive options; it's also the most chic restaurant for miles!! My wife was thrilled that they also have an extensive bar for her to choose from, including 8 different draught beers and tons of girlie cocktails for me. We were excited to try this place because it had such great reviews, however, we left disappointed. The food: Our appetizer was great, we ordered thesteak sliders. The steak was so tender it was easy to bite through and the parietal garlic sauce, I wanted to eat with a spoon. Thats where the joy kind of ended. We both ordered burgers, mine with a side of fries, my husband's with a side of Mac n cheese. My husband's burger had BBQ sauce and onion rings and it was good, but the patty was dry and a little salty. I ordered the up north burger and same thing. Salty and dry. My husband liked his Mac n cheese until he bit down on a big piece of garlic in the food. My biggest complaint about the food is that the sides were COLD! It was obvious they'd been sitting for awhile. Nothing was bad, but nothing was that great either besides the appetizer. The ambience: Beautiful space, lovely views, nicely decorated, uncomfortable chairs. The service: This is the reason I won't be coming back. The hostesses were the nicer people in the restaurant. Our waitress was not that friendly, she took our drink orders and then just walked off without a word. Later on we needed refills, but the waitress was nowhere to be found. We look over and there was a group of servers just standing around, talking, playing on their phones, playing with their hair(ew). After a bit she comes over and finally gives us refills, but her attitude seemed like she felt like she was doing us a favor. We barely saw her again until it was time to pay. Most food was ok only certain foods were good, we were waiting for 15-20 minutes while there were only 2 other people there, its has a good vibe/ atmosphere the calzone was dry and bland, the log jam was on point, Vodka soda ok. Had an early dinner at the new Zero Dock Street in Carthage- Wow! The building is amazingly nice with views of the river, the staff was suoer friendly, and the food...so good. The "duo dip" appetizer was enough for four people- we chose the Buffalo chicken dip and the Spinach Bacon Dip- both excellent (only thing I'd suggest is offer chips in lieu of pita bread with this appetizer). My chicken Parmesan was excellent and my dining partner had the Caramelized Twin Chops- cooked in maple bourbon- very juicy and really good flavor. We definitely will be a repeat customer. Skip the corporate chain restaurants and try this new one that's locally owned and operated. read more

The place had a very nice vibe. Only thing I didn't like was where we sat. I think they should ask if it's okay to be seated there when getting a table. But I didn't complain because I know they have a limit on the amount of people let in so I was also thinking maybe the other area was full. We we were put by the fireplace by the window just felt a little squished in a way. The appetizers we died for which were pulled peon sliders and the dip duo (bacon spinach dip and Buffalo dip). My wife loved her Calzone but my Mahi Mahi grilled fish with roasted potatoes were okay. I wish the mango salsa tasted more flavorful so it would compliment the fish better and my roasted potatoes were burnt so I switched for mashed potatoes which were amazing. And of course we had to try their drinks and got gummy bear martinis. Soooooo good we recommend them we got four of them and they were like $9. There was a lot of work put into this location and it is nice to see what was a vacant building turned into a nice dining location. It has a good atmosphere and dining on the elevated deck is nice when available. Food is good. Cons- Acoustics, it is loud inside with all of the hard surfaces. It looks as though some sound dampening has been applied, but some more would be nice. Some menu items seem a little pricey. All in all, I have eaten here a few times and would do so again. read more

To celebrate our anniversary we chose to dine here. We wanted to sit outside with a view of the water. Even though it was a Thursday we thought it would be a a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation. We called about 5pm for 7pm dinner. We were able to get a table with a nice view of the water outside. The place was busy and definitely practicing social distancing even outside. Our server Jordan was very attentive. When we asked her a question and she didn't know the answer, she went and found out the answer. We ordered the shareable Maple Brie for starters. My husband ordered the fried haddock (so far Tully's haddock is still his favorite and Cracker Barrel is a close second) and I ordered the broiled haddock and shrimp combo dinner. So...we waited...and waited. One of my pet peeves is that we get served our "appetizers" aka "shareables" at the same time as our dinner. We flagged down Jordan and she apologized and said the kitchen is getting backed up. We had arrived at 7pm. Our salads finally arrived 7:45 . When our salad arrived we ordered water and another glass of wine. At 7:50 our appetizer arrived. At 8:05 Jordan realized we still had not received our water or wine. She then promptly brought them to us. 8:10 our dinner arrived. While our meal wasn't served all at one time, it might have well been. Our food was served nice and hot though. However, both of our fish dishes were over cooked. I did enjoy our side dishes of red potatoes and Mac and cheese. On a final note, be very aware of the time of year that you choose to eat outside, this time of year the mosquitoes also got a meal out of us. read more

This place is awesome. Great option for locals or those headed to or from the ADKs. Great food, nice beer options (including local options) and a hip scene. When weather is nice the deck overlooking the river is great, when it's cooler you can sit inside by the fire. Live music supposed to be starting this month!!! read more

I normally do not take the time to write a review but after reading past reviews I felt compelled to share my experience last night when I arrived I noticed 2 of our party were at the bar so I joined them as they were patiently waiting to be served. They told me that they were waiting for five minutes. Another 10 minutes had gone by and I finally asked the two bartenders who were talking to each other at the inside corner of the bar when they were coming over. I said we were waiting fifteen minutes. One of the motioned to be patient. I couldn't believe it. I have never had this experience before and was so overwhelmed which I believe set the mood for the night. Finally after taking another couples drink orders, she took ours, 25 minutes total. Do you think this is acceptable? I had come to find out that it was her first night and that she basically was lost. Training? We finally left the bar and was told to go down the front hallway when one of our group asked where we were seated? The waitresses said the group was upstairs and we asked what group and told her we were a group of eight. She asked what the name was and one of our group told her and it appeared that we were not in the book. But then she said she found it and that we had to wait while they set up the tables. Obviously you were not prepared for us. Planning? We finally were seated and Jordan was our waitress. She was very pleasant and really tried to keep us satisfied. We received our salad and shortly after that our dinners. However, while this was going on you were setting up a table for 26 people adjacent to us. Needless to say, after just receiving our food we couldn't hear ourselves talk to each other. We had to either repeat everything we said or we had to scream. It is obvious that this was not thought out. Planning? I also have mention that where were located was so cold we had to ask 3 times to just shut the fan so it could warm up a little. The girls were wearing either their jackets or sweaters to try to remain warm. Finally, with regard to our dinners. It seems that everyone was satisfied with their meals; however, my dinner was not as requested. I requested from the menu breaded haddock, what I received was as Jordan told me baked haddock. One of the other gentlemen said to her he ordered breaded and she said baked. And left the table leaving me wondering if she was going to bring what I had requested. Another 10 minutes went by and I finally had to catch her at the bar and ask if she had placed a new order. No, she hadn't. I told her I needed what I ordered and I also told her that I would like extra lemon and tarter sauce with the fish. Ordered a sugar free mojito, our waitress JuliaAnn was working both the bar and floor (it was around 3:30pm and quiet) she made one of the best mojito's in northern NY, no mixes allowed due to sugar, all from scratch, it was yummy! Three out of four restaurants are incapable of making a sugar free mojito, it takes talent. Order the basic cheeseburger, it was good not great, nice presentation, good fries, but they should switch out their burger patty it was salty and dry and yes I ordered it cooked thru but not well done. Table also ordered anti pasta salad and berry salad both had good presentation and tasted great. Spinach dip is a good, served with great pita bread, the bruschetta was not a hit. Service was horrible. We won't be back. Our low rating has nothing to do with COVID. The food, once it arrived, was good not great. We didn't mind the wait for the food. But our server and food deliverers could have cared less. Fish tacos were bland and no flavor. They were Unfamiliar with the menu, side items offered that weren't available, never bussed our appetizer plates and literally threw our dinner plates on top of dirty dishes. The presentation of food was sub par...$24 steak showed up with no garnish, just a steak on a greasy plate. No refills offered. Waters never delivered. One of our $15 appetizers arrived in the dirty server's tray and the server attempted to pick up with his hands. We ordered a Manhattan and it was served in a warm glass, half full. Then opted for bottled beer and was never asked for a cold glass. For the money, DEFINITELY not worth it.
