This location is a complete disaster. They literally have children selling the vehicles who don't even understand how financing works. The GM makes promises on things being taken care of after the fact and won't put anything in writing and then service asks for $1000 in labor. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this location. Carmax should definitely investigate this location.

I chose a car that was at another Carmax location (in tenneseee) to be shipped in. I was told the offer would remain valid even if we went past that 7-days since the delay was on them getting the new one here. The communication with the sales guy in Nashville completely stopped so we came to the Murfreesboro location and explained our situation. They let us start over with them, choose another car, have it shipped, and they agreed to honor the original trade-in offer because of all the trouble with the sales associate at the Nashville location. The new car came in and we made an appointment to go in, test drive, and purchase it at noon today. We sat down to start all the paperwork and they will NO LONGER honor the trade-in offer for my car and are instead offering me $1,200 less. I agreed to take the lower amount if they would replace the tires on the new car and we'd call it even. The new car will need tires very soon but they said they would not replace them because they weren't "within spec". Essentially they let us walk over a set of tires. Over the past 11 years, we have purchased 6 cars from them and have purchased the extended warranty on all 6 of those, as well. For them to make a promise, back out on it, and let us walk over a set of tires was enough for me to share my experience. We will NEVER buy another car from any Carmax or recommend them to anyone again. Seriously beware; I'm super disappointed. ****While the new car's tires were still barely "in spec" as far as their standards/requirements go, they told me they'd replace would replace them if they went "out of spec" within the first 90-days. Those tires have a MAXIMUM of 2 months life left on them so they would have been replacing them at no charge anyway.****

Marc listened to me when I told him what I was looking for and gave me the miles and prices of what he had available on the lot. Then he gave me some time to think and I picked the one I liked. My husband and I test-drove it, and my picky husband agreed the van was good, so we went back to fill out our paperwork. Marc explained everything to us, and that afternoon, we were pulling off the lot with our van. We took it for a long drive last weekend, and my husband and I agreed we had made a good choice. I'll add this: I had been considering buying my family a new van since October, and we made this purchase at the end of January. We had already gone to every lot in town and all the neighboring towns, too. I had stopped looking around the holidays because I wasn't seeing what I wanted. I knew what I wanted and had done the research. The day we bought the van, we had taken a day off and went to a few lots before I told my husband, let's go to Stargate. I had put it last in the rotation because I had been checking websites and knew they had a few of what I was looking for in stock. I had spoken with Marc back in October and was happy to see he was there when I got there. They got our registration done for us as well and called when our plate came in. Overall, it was a great experience, and we are very happy with the van and the service we got. My husband is up for a car next, and we will be happy to purchase again from this dealership when the time comes.

I would be VERY wary of purchasing a vehicle from these folks…read more My story is as follows. A few weeks ago I traded two reliable vehicles for one other vehicle, not yet 2 years old (a 2017), they had on their lot. I left both of my reliable vehicles there, and they allowed me to leave w/ the "new" vehicle, without actually exchanging titles for the vehicles, assuming we'd just mail them to each other. Less than an HOUR later, after taking my family to dinner, we got back in the vehicle, only to be greeted w/ a Check Engine Light (CEL). This was after this dealership closed, so I immediately took the vehicle to a nearby O'reiley's to have them pull the codes on the vehicle to see what the CEL was on for. It was a P052E code for a PCV malfunction. Nothing too damaging to the vehicle, but most definitely needed to be fixed. While checking the codes, the O'Reiley's employee and I noticed that the little door for the OBD/2 port was already open! It's very ominous to purchase a vehicle, after test driving it, only to have a CEL light come on, and then see the OBD/2 port door left open. This makes it very likely that the same code had been thrown before, and someone simply went in to clear the code. This works to turn the CEL off, but a few more drive cycles (like a test drive, a drive to a restaurant, then a drive home) will trip the code again - the original problem not having been solved. I contacted the dealership and they said, "Oh! Take it somewhere and we'll take care of the bill." This being a Mercedes, there wasn't anywhere within an hour drive away willing to work on the vehicle anyway, so I brought it back to them, and they said they'd get the part required and do the replacement themselves. I agreed and let them change out whatever they thought was the problem w/ the PCV system. They also gave me another vehicle to borrow for the two days it would take for them to complete the job. Which seemed nice. Up until I got in THAT vehicle and could feel the transmission surging anytime I accelerated! Thankfully, I wasn't buying that car. Sure enough, the day they were supposed to deliver my "new" vehicle back to me, the CEL came on in THAT vehicle they had loaned me! I was amazed! THIS WAS A VEHICLE FOR SALE ON THEIR LOT! I gave it back hoping they'd fixed my vehicle. But oh no. This is barely the beginning. THE VERY NEXT DAY the CEL came back on with the EXACT SAME P052E code! I called them, couldn't reach anyone, and so I drove it to the Mercedes service center to have THEM do a diagnostic, assuming the offer to pay for repairs would still be honored. Turns out they replaced the WRONG PVC hose on the vehicle, the "easy" one to replace. The one that had the leak was a job that would be $2100! I called them to tell them what the news was. I asked them to honor the deal, only to be offered to pay $1000 of the bill!!! that if they were to be the dealership account to do the repair on, would not pay tax and would bring it down to $1800~. So I'd be out an additional $800~!! Screw they word! To be honest they had me in pretty much of a bind. My wife and kids had no transportation since I had traded in my other vehicles for this one. And at this point I just wanted it fixed because all the 2hr round-trips away from home in the middle of the week were playing havoc on my life and work. So I just agreed to it, misplacing my trust AGAIN that someone might, I dunno, keep their word? So the repair was done. Once it was, I called them to get them to pay their share LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD, only to be told that they wanted the titles to the trade-ins BEFORE they'd be willing to pay the $1000 they SAID THEY WOULD. Even though they didn't NEED the titles, since they had a limited power of attorney to go ahead and get new titles issued from the state. I was livid. I was stranded, w/o transportation. My family had no transportation, and now I had a $1000 bill that wasn't being paid when they SAID THEY WOULD?!?!? I finally talked them into letting me sign some arbitrary statement saying I'd send them the titles within the next couple of business days and they finally, after HOURS of arguing, paid their share of the bill. So the very next day, I sent them the titles. Even sent them the extra key FOBs I had, paid extra for that FedEx shipping even. So you'd think that'd be the end of it right? Oh no, you'd be wrong. You'd be DEAD wrong. It's now just a few days later. The transmission is miffed. Vehicle dies everytime I pull up to a stop. Transmission went into "emergency mode" twice. There's something seriously wrong and now I'm screwed. These people are buying crap vehicles w/ serious mechanical issues at auction, getting their hack mechanics to cover up the problems as best they can, and turning around and selling them to folks for a profit. Look through these reviews. I'm not the only one w/ this story. These people are unethical. Dishonest. Immoral. AVOID!!!!
