Used to take my 2024 GMC Sierra for all their service then after they did a change all your fluids recommend service that costs 1800 , I did it becayse I want to maintain my warranty and truck well next 3 weeks later I have transmission fluid lines leaking and they tell me it's my faught that I hit something that pulled the line out cause I hit causing the leak..fought with the upper service dept mgt and they told me I hit something and the fix would be around 4000...I never hit anything ...so I had my truck pulled / towed to another GMC service center in a different area ..and they found no proof of any damage and it turned out the leaking transmission line to be a covered manufacture fix and I owed ZERO. BEWARE Darrell Waltrip's (Franklin TN) Fresh Start program: Several months back I had a discharged bankruptcy which left me in need of a car. After receiving many email offers from different dealers who offer "fresh start" programs, I opted to go with Darrell Waltrip due to the fact that they seemed to be very thorough and efficient with the pre-approval process. The pre-approval went very smoothly but the actual day of the sale was quite different. Unfortunately, for me, I didn't realize what was going on at the time until I had time afterward to process the entire transaction and get used to the car that I said I didn't want in the first place but let myself be coerced into. When I went to the dealer to look at cars, the salesperson showed me a list of cars on their website she said were in the "program." She did initially ask me though how I felt about Subarus. I said I didn't hate them but wasn't necessarily interested in getting one. As I went on looking through the cars, any car outside of a Subaru, including even a few Hondas that were supposedly on their Honda lot, for almost any I chose I was told they were not eligible to be financed through the program. I had no problem with a high-mileage car but wanted something reasonably priced. Getting back into a high car payment after bankruptcy seemed ludicrous. We spent about two hours going through my choices - I'd pick 2 or 3 I was interested in, she'd go check and come back with the same answer that they were not in the program or the cost was too high (none were priced over 25K and I was approved for 30K - and the only reason I chose anything in a little higher range than 20K was because my choices kept getting eliminated). She still brought up a Subaru Forester for me to drive and I told her again I was not interested in that car and did not want to drive it. She also claimed that a lot of the cars on their website were not even at dealers in Tennessee, since I guess the Hendrick group has dealerships in many places. Didn't understand why she would even include showing them to me but later figured out it was probably just to cover the (what should have been obvious) plan of leading me to purchase a Subaru. The final choice was a Subaru Legacy - which I drove and while I did have a few misgivings, it did seem adequate. I was in a situation where I really needed to get a car - which is probably the same situation as would affect most people having just gone through bankruptcy - and, being in that situation they know they pretty much have you over a barrel because you need a car, probably don't have a big downpayment, know you can't get financed by regular means and, as I finally realized later, they use that to their advantage. So, I ended up purchasing the Legacy which I will admit I have grown to like except for the fact that I ended up with a $700 car note. This is due, of course, to a high interest rate and all the crap that gets added on when you're signing. The finance guy, who had been just delightful any time he stopped at our desk during the decision process, was rushed and almost rude during the signing. He went very quickly through what few details he did offer and didn't tell me the amount of the car payment until the very end. Then he tried to get me to sign up for the extended warranty but did finally agree to let me take the paperwork home to review before I decided. I'm not laying all the blame on the dealership because I certainly could have declined the sale. Sadly, I'm not very experienced at car buying and was a bit intimidated by the finance person's attitude. But.... now I know of what to beware. I just wanted to share this with anyone who might be looking at going through Darrell Waltrip's Fresh Start program, I would strongly advise going just about anywhere else. There's enough trauma attached to having to go through bankruptcy and though they seem sympathetic to the situation and act as though they want to help - things aren't always what they seem. If it seems like they're guiding you in a certain direction, they probably are - wait for what you want.... read more

Undermanned! Be prepared to wait EVEN if you have an appointment. So far I've been to Darrell Waltrip twice. Overall the dealership is nice and the service is friendly BUT it's very inefficient. The first time I came, the service department apologized that my tonneau cover installation would take longer than an hour because they were so undermanned. So I waited for three hours for an hour long installation job for which I had an appointment. The second time I went was to drop off my vehicle for body shop repairs. There's a manufacturer paint defect and a issue with my window. I show up and they're not ready to take my car to the body shop. In fact, I learn they haven't even done an inspection of the issues that I reported during my FIRST visit. So I end waiting 1.5 hours for the manager to do an inspection of the paint and window. I also learn they didn't order the part for the window on my initial visit, so they couldn't even make a small repair. In essence, I wasted my second visit on an inspection that could have been done tbe first time I was there. Additionally, the service desk reported to me when I showed that the manager wasn't in yet so I'd have to wait longer. The final kicker is they couldn't give me an estimate of when my window part would arrive. The dealership is clearly undermanned with technicians. Maybe the should pay more and some of those salesman (there's always a ton milling around) would want to be a technician. My review was at 4 stars when I started writing. I bumped it down to 3 stars now that I think about all the time wasted. I didnt bump it down to 2 stars because the work that was done seems pretty good. read more

Every time I bring my car in for routine maintenance I have to advocate for myself to get my car back within the day. BUYERS BEWARE...The service department here is great but the sales det is far from it. Built and ordered a new vehicle through them back in Nov. I waiting 4 months for the vehicle to be ordered and when it showed up things went south quickly. 1. The interest they were chargiing monthly on the vehickle was 4% more then what GM financial was charging. do your homework ! 2. The GM called the day before I was to pick up the vehicle and asked my what time i was gonna arrive so he could help close the deal. GM never even showed his face while I was there for over 2Hrs. It was the second time he pulled this. 3. Had a similar vehicle at another dealer, but priced much lower ready to go and Waltrip told me to stick with them and they'd make sure I was taken care of. Needless to say......I didnt get the DEAL i was hoping for and i DIDNT get the vehicle...They sold it whne i said the offered deal didnt work for me. My 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 had its Lifters replaced 2.5 yrs ago and was under a GM 3 year 36000 mile warranty and neither had been reached . I bought the truck at Parks GMC and they were always great with service . When it broke down again with same symptoms I was much closer to Waltrip so I had it towed there instead of Parks GMC ......That was a huge mistake . After charging 280.00$ to diagnose the problem they said it was most likely a Cam shaft issue and not the Lifters and they said it would not be covered under the parts warranty . That just didnt sound right .So I had it towed again to Parks GMC and they took one look and said it was a lifter problem and fixed it For 0.0 Dollars $ . Waltrip should be reimbursing my payment and my tow to their dealership .I cannot stress this enough ,this service department is not to be trusted . if I could give it 0 stars I would Take your vehicles anywhere else but Waltrip read more

Here are questions I received after my recent visits. 1. Did we answer your questions either via email, phone, or in person in a timely manner? Yes, questions were mostly answered in a timely manner. 2. Did we have the vehicle you were searching for and provide you with information on the vehicle? No, there were not enough vehicles available to make any decisions. That would have been one thing by itself. The problem with this is that apparently corporate loads car images onto the website saying you have them when you don't and your dealership doesn't bother to remove them (according to what your sales associate told me). No one else seems to have this "issue". That is bad advertising and manipulative to get people in the door. Once I was in the door, I was shown a ridiculous spreadsheet of all the people waiting on a car. That was meant to tell me you don't have cars gently??? Just odd and not helpful. Once I did come in for an actual car you had. That was even worse. The sales person took literally as long as possible to give me a trade in quote and purchase price breakdown. He didn't even bother to take time to show me the car. It took about two hours for those two things. The price sheet had error after error in it. I didn't even have time to argue with him about it after being there with my kids for two hours that I just left and decided I wouldn't be back. 3. If there was one thing that prevented you from moving forward with a purchase with us, what would that one thing be? The biggest thing was the "dishonesty" (aka. Not being upfront or detailed with pricing). I went to see a car for $78k then the price sheet marked it up further for random dumb things. It even priced the trunk netting twice. Like, what?!?!? Stupid. I also had a suppliers discount that they quoted me $1500. Just incorrect. My trade in was not appropriately quoted. The $78k car suddenly turned into $93k. I went to another Gmc dealer that I had been talking to for a month. They were always fair and honest. They gave me appropriate trade in for my car. They actually had the cars on their website to go see. I was able to see about eight Yukons to compare. The suppliers discount code I had was worth over $5k. I ended up purchasing a $92k listed car for out the door cost of $98k. That is insane!!! Your dealership had me looking at a $78k car then quoted me $93. I was also there for a total of three hours and left with a car!!!! I was at your dealership for two hours and left with literally nothing accomplished. I am embarrassed that your dealership is in my town. You all are not any place I would ever recommend to anyone. Awful experience. You all should be embarrassed. read more

My wife went and looked at a pre-owned Enclave on 7/3/21 and fell in love with it. They wouldn't sell it to her because it hadn't been through inspection. She told them if it passed we definitely wanted to purchase it. On the morning of 7/5/21 they called and said it had passed. She told them we would be there around 4 or 5 to purchase the car. We showed up at 4 and were told that they were negotiating with someone else to sell the car even though we committed to the purchase. Instead of letting the other buyers know a mistake had been made and that the vehicle was already promised, they sold the Enclave out from under us. Very bad way to run a business! read more

I purchased my Escalade here in may. The car has been great other than the TVs never worked and I had to take it to Cadillac to get them fixed. I scheduled my first maintenance appointment for today at 1pm. I arrived at 12:40 and was told it would be about an hour and a half. At 3pm I checked in with the service department and they said it hasn't even been started on yet. I'm late picking my kids up at this point and was told if I can bring it back tomorrow they'll get right on it. Free oil change or not, I will go elsewhere for service now. I called him the following day and he states to me "I didn't see any emails from you"... Oh there they are let me read it. Unbelievable. Lastly, the service manager Willie is a nice guy and means well but it is all about the "SALES/General Manager". Not service or customer but bottom line. I was suppose to meet with the General Manager Lawrence Martin today. I was called by Willie Berryman "that Lawrence wants to sit down with you and work this out". So, my transmission once again went bad and had to bring back in the day before we were to meet. (Ironic) This is the 7th time in 7 months. I go to see Lawrence and his solution was to give me a 2017 truck and wants me to pay 10K out of pocket for it. I have a lemon of a car and their solution is to get me last years truck and pay 10k out of pocket. ORIGINAL APRIL REVIEW.. READ: I purchased a 2017 Buick Lacrosse Premium: Day 1: Bring home that night (4 mile ride) and there is a scratch in the door. On the ride home the tires are thumping also. I have to bring to the shop because they have to paint the door. Mind you this is a BRAND NEW Car. Also, they state to me you have flat spots in your tires and after 1,000 miles you won't feel them any more.. Really? 2. I come home and then my family notices that the molding is not right and I take it to them.. They said we have to order all new side molding and reinstall.. (This is just a week after the car was purchased). 3. The car has terrible noise in the roof and can't hear music or people when driving. Brought in and they needed to tighten something in the roof. (Once again all within the first few weeks). 4. About 6 weeks in and at around 1200 miles the TRANSMISSION WENT on the car. Yes brand new car I am talking about here. They had to replace the WHOLE transmission. Needless to say I wanted to get the car replaced. The management team at Darrell Waltrip states "We are the dealer and don't make the cars" We fixed what was wrong and we can't do nothing if Buick doesn't want to help us" I believe this is a COP out and using this to wipe their hands clean. So the Lawrence the General Manager states to me.. IF we have ANY I mean ANYMORE problems I will take it up with Buick Myself and get it addressed. Well I am going in this week for the third service issue since that statement and every time I mention his statement he ignores it. To add insult to injury, I went around and looked what I could get for trade in or straight out purchase for the car.. Darrell Waltrip the car dealership I am having issues with in good conscience was giving me 2-3K less than dealers I was visiting. What does that tell you about how they want to take care of their customers?? They know of the issues, they promise to fight for you and they don't.. Then they low ball you on the trade in or buy back.. Can't take a loss or do the right thing. Nope.. They need to make sure its all about them and how it benefits their bottom line first. What started as a car in need of repair ended up being a great experience! The service center was very up front, honest and helpful with what was wrong with my car. They're prompt to make an appointment and work you in as quickly as possible. After evaluating the needed car repairs my husband and I decided to trade the car in on something new with no repairs needed. The sale consultant that took care of us was not pushy at all. He was very honest, up front, and prompt to take care of our needs. Once we decided to buy our sales consultant made sure it was detailed (even though it was new) and the tank was full before we left. No surprises when the paperwork was signed at all. Last they made sure we had an extra key fob I mentioned in small talk. Will be back be back for future oil changes, tire rotation etc ! 15 months ago I Order a truck the moment reservations open. 6 months in I drive into the dealer and they said ohh we thought you didn't want it. But my reservation was still active with gm so I "reclaimed it". Finally 8 months later I get an email saying the order for the truck is in with the manufacturer. 2 months later I get a text when I'm out of the country that says the truck is at the dealer. I land back in the US on a Sunday when the dealer is closed and call them first thing Monday morning only to find out they "sold" it to someone else because it was 72 hours after they received it. That's weird because 72 hours hit on Sunday afternoon when they were closed and I called the minute they opened on Monday. Did they sell it or did they want my order. What company texts instead of leaving a voicemail anyway? Shady amateur operation. Go elsewhere if you want to order a vehicle, especially if it's a highly sought after one. read more

What I liked: 1. The greater Nashville area finally has a GM dealer with a low-pressure and knowledge-backed approach to vehicle sales. 2. Our salesman, Michael Sharpton, and new car sales manager, Bryan Cagle, were absolute gentlemen. Both were exceptionally easy to deal with, had a straightforward business mentality, and answered all of our questions clearly and concisely without the common BS you find at many dealers. 3. The whole process took a solid chunk of time (as does any car purchase these days!), however, the thoroughness of the Darrell Waltrip GMC folks put us at ease and did not make us feel like our time was being wasted unnecessarily. What I didn't like: 1. When we purchased our vehicle on Friday evening, the accounting staff had already gone home for the day. Apparently they are not available on Saturdays, either. If you are expecting a check for your trade-in vehicle immediately upon title turnover, just be aware that it may take a few days to process the funds you are due. This was not a big deal in the least to us but something to consider if you need immediate cash. The pros of this deal far outweighed the potential cons. The verdict: My husband and I were sincerely and completely satisfied with our purchase experience of a new GMC at Darrell Waltrip in Franklin. It was a true pleasure working with Michael and Bryan -- any potential new car purchaser would be remiss if he/she did not first stop by Darrell Waltrip to give these guys a chance to earn the business. read more

Careless maintenance technicians, and rude management / service advisors. I purchased my new GMC truck here in March of 2016. The initial sale process went smoothly, and the Billy, my salesperson, could not have been nicer during the process. When I brought my truck in for its first oil change in May, I got it back from the shop with oil stains on the headliner. According to the shop manager, the technician that changed my oil was wearing an oily/dirty ball cap that made contact with my headliner in several places. Jocelyn, a maintenance coordinator, had the detailing department clean up my headliner. Most of the grease spots were removed, but there were still spots left on my headliner. I brought the truck back in today to have the spots worked on again, particularly one bad spot of discoloration, directly over the driver's seat. This is where the technicians ball cap made the most contact with the headliner. After attempting to clean the spot a second time, the grease had been completely worked in to the headliner. When I pointed this out to the maintenance team, they conveniently "couldn't see" the spot. My salesperson, Billy, agreed that he could see the grease spot until the dealership manager, Lawrence, came to take a look himself. At that point, Billy changed his mind and decided that he could no longer see the grease spot. They essentially told me that they would do nothing more about the problem that they caused. This was my 2nd service with Darrel Waltrip GMC. Each service began with a kind face(s) and ended with kind faces and minus the ridiculous suggestions. This means a great deal to me since the dealerships we purchased from are in Springfield and Memphis. The dealership closest to us is in Murfreesboro. I hate to openly berate businesses in my county; however, we made our purchases far away at other dealerships due to Murfreesboro's slothfulness and untruthfulness - by the way, we have excellent credit scores. After using the Murfreesboro service dept a few times, they lived up to their bad service reputation as well. Happy and relieved to find Darrel Waltrip GMC!!
