Reliable Automotive is incredibly honest, trustworthy, and as their name says - reliable! My bf's crankshaft position center failed on us while driving - it was terrifying bc we lost power steering/brakes and the car just shut down. Thankfully, the team at Reliable was able to give a transparent and fair quote, and get it in and repair it quickly for us. Brandon was very helpful and the entire staff was welcoming, professional, and made us aware of some suggested preventive measures to take with the mileage of the car. Brought my GL450 mercedes to reliable automobile to repair the A/C. Only hot air was blowing out. They did a diagnostic and found four things wrong with the car. I got a quote for $10k to fix a car that is only worth 5k. Then lack common sense. He wanted to replace so many different vows, and all I needed was a compressor to get repaired. They initially quoted me $181 for the diagnostic then when I went to pay, they wanted to charge. $280. I don't really don't trust this organization. read more

My third time doing business here! The fellas at the Lubrication Corner (right by Five Points in downtown Franklin), gave me a quick & affordable tune up. My AC was running hot this summer too, and the guys over at Franklin Automotive did a full check-up on my RAV-4, diagnosis of everything that will need repairs soon (brake pads, AC compressor, etc), as well as topping off the Freon to keep us cool! Terrible quality, Overpriced and even worse customer service once they found out I had a problem with the service they directly provided. AVOID AT ALL COST If you have to deal with upper management, the operation manager, Michael avoids all wrongdoing no matter what, the manager at the new shop sent pictures and talked to him directly, and he still acted like they did no wrong, and said he couldn't see what the pictures were showing, and they were "blurry" he said. Took my truck in for some engine codes relating to vacume leaks/rough idle (intake manifold gaskets) and front brakes making terrible noise when i visited franklin. I drove the truck under 2000 miles after they "fixed" it. just to have all the same codes come back plus a few more along with the brakes starting to make noise and the rear caliper leaking fluid after a 1900$ front brake service. I do not live in franklin, so I called them, and they sent me to another napa certified shop in Huntsville, Alabama to warranty the work. Upon taking it to the shop they requested me to take it to, that mechanic found a bolt broke off on the backing plate of the brakes they fixed, and also found that they charged me to replace the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets 1648$ and they only changed the upper intake gasket. So he could not warranty the work that Reliable Automotive did because they DID NOT even do the work that I was charged for. The new shop had to rework the entire intake manifold gaskets upper and lower. There prices are overpriced too. The intake gasket cost 1648$ at Reliable Automotive where the shop they sent me to only charge 950$ for the same work. over 150% more expensive than the shop they requested me to go to so they are price gouging So I ended up having my truck back in the shop for a week, having to pay for a car to drive for that week, and having to pay the new mechanic up front out of my own pocket to actually fix my truck. I also had to make many phone calls and send pictures to finally get some money back. I finally got the senior manager tiffany at Reliable Automotive to actually refunded me the 1648$ amount for the intake manifold (parts and labor) because all of the physical evidence showing they didn't do the work. I should of got paid for the car I had to borrow while my truck was back in the shop, plus I shouldn't have to pay out of my pocket for service that was done wrong at their shop. I hope this review saves someone else the headache and money. read more

I had recently had the alternator replaced by a shop in Knoxville on my sons car. when driving home for Christmas break the battery light came on and the car died. It would "come back to life" for a while and then more lights. Luckily, he made it home to Franklin and we got into Reliable. Sergio Sumal was our advisor and he was great to deal with. Courteous, prompt, and communicative. He and the techs discovered the previous shop failed to properly secure connections to the alternator and battery. It's hard to find a good honest repair shop , but I was lucky enough to get recommended to this one! They will treat you like family and they will tell you straight up what you need, don't need and what can wait. They understand that people need their cars, but also need money to buy food and pay bills. They will work with you and give a great price. Beyond that they don't have quotas like Firestone so they won't tell you a million things you need fixed that aren't really necessary. I also really appreciate the Southern hospitality. Their office is nicely decorated and welcoming to even female customers. It doesn't feel like a grimy shop. It's nicely painted and even has a table with cookies and drinks for customers. After a frustrating situation with another garage, Mike & the guys at Reliable took care of their mistakes. They did a full inspection that they shared with us (videos, photos, detailed explanations) before they started the work. We realized that not only did the other garage not fix what we paid them to, they ended up creating several other problems as well. The guys at Reliable got the issues corrected and thanks to their great work, we were able to recoup most of the money lost at the other garage. if it were possible to rate this business zero, I would. I was charged a large sum for repairs, only to discover thousands of dollars were needed in addition for my car to be operational. After I had another garage look at my car, they stated they would've never completed the initial repairs without further investigation from the start. So, I was out thousands of dollars and ended up selling the car as scrap to that second garage. When I attempted to communicate with the manager my dissatisfaction, the only thing I asked him to do was respond to me. But he never did, which told me a lot about how they valued me as a customer. I'm not sure I've ever written a negative yelp report in my life, but people need to get second opinions before they are willing to spend thousands of dollars for repairs at this company. Such disappointing service. Who has several thousand dollars to throw out the window...I certainly didn't. I did learn a valuable lesson though. ALL I asked after voicing my dissatisfaction was a response, and they weren't willing to do that. Had they taken responsibility by simply contacting me and talking the issue out, I most likely never would have posted this. I understand people make mistakes, all I'm asking is that you take responsibility and value your customers. read more

Being new to the area I found Reliable through RepairPal . I made an appointment online through RepairPal . When I arrived, I was greeted nicely and sat down to discuss the problems with my truck. After being informed of the necessary review of the truck, I mentioned that I thought I could wait for that. Instead of saying they were too busy, they took the truck immediately. About 15 minutes later we sat down again and reviewed the potential repairs and prices. I signed off on the quote and left with information on how to drop off the vehicle that evening. The following day I was contacted to approve one small addition. The truck was ready when expected, later that afternoon. All repairs seem to be fine, no issues. Mike (one of the owners) also discussed another repair that could be done but was not really necessary on a 17 year old truck. One of those "just live with it" issues that doesn't pay to fix. He didn't just try to get that extra job knowing it was not worth it to me. I will bring my vehicles back to Reliable as needed.
