This is closer to 3.5 stars than 4 stars, honestly. I was very excited to try the basque…read morecheesecakes from here, but I didn't expect the cheesecakes and other menu items to be soo expensive. I get that rent in the city is not cheap, but this shop doesn't offer anything else besides the food. There's only 2 seats by the window, and even then, it's very cramped seating, so it's not really like you could sit down to enjoy the food/ambiance. I think I would be more ok with the priciness if it tasted spectacular or the portions were big, but the cheesecake was neither. I got the $29 cheesecake platter so I could try 4 flavors at once. Having just tried Lamoone not too long ago, which also offers basque cheesecakes with Asian flavors and SAMPLES, I think Ando is just ok when it comes to the cheesecakes. Yuzu and original were the superior flavors while matcha and oolong were alright. I'm not tempted to go back again for them like I am for Lamoone, though. The slices of cheesecake that were included in the platter were half the size of a regular slice of cheesecake from say, The Cheesecake Factory, so $29/4=$7.25 for a tiny slice is kind of absurd. I got to try their jasmine pana cotta, and that was unexpectedly really good. The jasmine flavor really came through and the texture of the pana cotta was perfect. There was only one person working in the front and at least one person in the back when I went with my friend, who also ordered the same thing as me and a drink. And only one other customer bought something from here while we were here. Yet, it took about 15 minutes for our desserts to be ready.

I just tried the best bakery ever! I had five different items, and every single one was amazing. I…read moredon't remember all the exact names, but I had a pistachio-filled croissant, apple pie, a cheese danish, a small raspberry dessert, and a white filled donut. When I say everything was good, I mean everything was good! Each bite had the perfect level of sweetness. (The one I went to was the one located inside the American dream mall)

The counter attendant skipped me completely when I clearly had not ordered yet, and she was the only counter attendant there. I tried not to mind because I just needed coffee anyway, but the line took a bit to come up to the cashier. At no point did anybody try to check with me if I've been served. When I get to the cashier, I placed my coffee order, and asked for an iced coffee with milk and simple syrup (very clear instructions). When the cashier went to prepare my coffee, she came back with a full cup of black coffee. I reminded her that I wanted milk. She then proceeds to take it back to dump part of the coffee to make room for milk (which I get means I have to pour it myself). But at no point did she tell me where the milk and sugar was and they were nowhere in sight. I asked her if the cup had simple syrup already. She begins to attend to the guy behind me and just says no without even looking at me. At this point, I'm annoyed because she was being rude. So I got snappy and said "so you have no sweeteners at all???" and only then did she tell me the sugar and milk are on the side. Please train your counter attendants to at the very least not be rude. It wasn't busy or too early or too late for them to have an attitude. I'm not giving my money to any establishment that doesn't even bother to train staff on common courtesy.
