Filet Orleans! Out of this world!

Had an amazing Father's Day experience here today! The wait time was short, only about 15 minutes. We drove over because of the long wait at the Original Oyster House and aim so glad we did. The waitress Amy did a phenomenal job waiting on us. Best service I have has in years. She brought everything in a timely fashion and with a nice warm smile. The sweet tea wasn't that great and she went back to the kitchen and made us a fresh batch that was sweet and delicious! She also gave us some great recommendations. My party of 5 loved our food. Everything was so good!

Everything was beyond. Absolutely amazing service, the food was to die for, and they made our evening special without us even asking! We mentioned we were in town and taking ourselves out for a nice night and they went above and beyond to make our date night extra! The bread pudding was to die for and the cocktails demanded that I order one more than I should have, but hey we Uber'd so #treatyoself! Definitely give this place a shot for a nice lunch or evening out because even though our Uber driver dragged it through the mud on the way there 'from a local's perspective' it was a very worthwhile and delicious experience and meal so don't miss out. :)

The good was fantastic. The service was quite impeccable... This location is my favorite. Great choice for a somewhat healthy lunch. House salad is phenomenal, not shown in photos.

Southern food at its finest! We loved the food at Half Shell so much that we ate here as many times as we could while in town. Everything we ate was absolutely heavenly, especially their pastas, fried green tomatoes and crab cakes, steaks, and desserts!! The prices are very reasonable too and the staff provided great service on every visit. We never had to wait long to be seated and our food came out fast and piping hot ever single time. I honestly wish we lived in Alabama just to be able to eat here more often! If you're ever visiting in the area, Half Shell Oyster House is a must!

My husband and I shared the Seafood platter and kids enjoyed the Royal Red Alfredo and Voodoo Chicken Sandwiches! The appetizers did not disappoint either! I never had a honey butter with my hush puppies, but this was a great value add to my meal experience! The atmosphere gave an upscale vibe as well and perfect for date night! Definitely try the Voodoo Chicken bites!

First time at this location in years. Ordered a relatively new dish called Catfish Lameuse. It was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was good and we have an awesome waitress. I do plan on returning and trying other items. It's worth a shot especially if you're looking for an alternative to deep fried seafood.

I had lunch here after Worship Service today and the food was delicious. The Chef knocked it out of the park. This is one of my favorite dining places as the atmosphere is always on point for any group or solo. Each dish was perfect. Zack's service is always superb. Awesome customer service. ( I have come here often and could always sit in a vacant table near the bar when there are empty tables; Today was the second time I was told I could sit at the bar, even though there were empty tables in the area (2); the hostess looked at the vacant tables and said the bar was available and I could sit at the bar. The last time it was 2 of us and was told couldn't sit at one of the empty tables. I didn't make an issue of it but think that is odd and didn't understand reasoning. In the past was given either option. The bartenders are always nice when waiting on those tables.) Still 5 Service.

However, were we're very pleasantly surprised to find that the new ownership, a Jamaican woman is also gluten free and fully intends to expand GF options to include GF onion rings on the appetizer list. She is currently deciding which menu items will be replaced with more requested items. The new owner is a friendly, warm person with a feel for greeting and making diners feel welcome. We were greatly relieved that she has great Jamaican recipes that will add to the otherwise seafood specialties. My wife has been GF for several years and has been unable to enjoy most fried foods including seafood due to wheat flour. However, we were able to enjoy a wonderful GF fried seafood platter and only the hush puppies were not GF. We also had the delicious crab bisque that is also GF. I am fortunate to NOT be allergic to anything so I was treated to a delicious chocolate truffle that is absolutely the best. This delicacy will soon be available GF. If you are looking for a coastal restaurant with GF options in the Mobile or Daphne causeway area, you should try the Elite Pierhouse restaurant. You won't be dissatisfied. Great food, spectacular views and really good service with moderate prices. Not fast food, but really great southern seafood with Jamaican flare.

Upon arriving we noticed the big parking lot, good location, and when we walked in we were greeted immediately. Inside was nicely decorated, dimly lit, and clean. We promptly got sat on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly got served water, got our drink orders, and food orders put in. The brunch menu is from 12-3, with mimosas and bloody Maria's. The bloody was really nice - could tell it had tequila! Old fashion was nice not overly Smokey. Onto the food, the tamales were some of the best I've had. They were HUGE. They came with birria, great consume, flavorful poblano rice, delicious poblano and corn cream (something of that nature) was so creamy and was GREAT. I couldn't believe how hot and fresh everything was. It was some of the best Mexican I've had. My husband enjoyed his chicken as well - it was tender and juicy, good char on the pineapple too. The portions were huge and we didn't eat it all. Good thing we didn't, the chef gave us complimentary dessert (ice cream because we're gluten free)! It was our first time and we'd love to go back. Everything looked and sounded great. Good margarita options, the flight was ordered by the table next to us! The overall cost for us two, although not the worst, but definitely not a cheap brunch was $110 with tip. Hot sauce was $2.50 on the side. A nice treat with friendly staff and good food, but not if you're looking to save some money.

Other subsequent customers had to wait as well. The place is very dark inside with the theme of a jungle of plastic plants hanging overhead. There appeared to be a few real plants, but it was too dark to confirm that. The food is tasty, but overpriced for what you get. We had the feeling the money is being spent on the decor or the lease on the building rather than the food. The potential is there for a better deal without the hype. It's a "been there done that " place for me.

The ambiance is nice and cozy. But we always sat in a booth. Sitting at a table indoors next to the back door, I looked around in confusion. At first it felt like someone kicking the back of the seat like on a flight. But then I was trying to move the table and check the chairs, maybe it was an earthquake from the New Madrid fault line. But like a typical NOLA raised home, it was just a hard floor and heavy footsteps. I'll know better next time. But Sundays from 12-3pm is the time to be there. Our waitress friendly and bubbly was there quickly to take our drink order. She checked on us frequenly. We started with the Boudreaux's egg rolls, they were awesome great texture crispy outside and soft avacado inside with a lot of flavor and great dipping sauce. Next I had the shrimp creole, with a substitute of side for gumbo. Both were very tasty and prepared perfectly, she had the black and bleu salad, the steak was very tasty and bleu cheese, well its bleu cheese and good bleu cheese. Last, we ordered an order of beignet's they were pretty good, a little on the heavy / dense side. The place was a little on the quiet side tonight despite the dining area being pretty full. One thing worth noting, we have noticed on our last two visits here the servers not clearing plates from the table when a persons is obviously finished eating either by the plate being pushed to the side or the universal silverware placement indicating, I am done eating. This time I had to ask her to clear the table before she brought anything else to the table. She was happy to do it, so maybe this timely removal of plates is not obvious, nor has it been explained/ taught by anyone. Service is important, this falls under the basics, if you are headed to the kitchen, do not go empty handed. Just a thought to improve the level of service. We will return.
