The parking lot is really small and you might have better luck street parking if it gets busy.

Check in was easy and I bought a day pass as I still have a lot of credit left on my BP account. Thanks to Tempe location refusing to refund my annual membership. When life gives you lemons, go climb all the BP locations across the country! The routes here are easier than what I am used to as I am usually about a V2 or V3 level climber but I was clearing some V4s and V5s, it gave me a nice confidence boost! I loved the climbs here. They have a lower level too with more climbing but I ran out of time so will check it out when I am in Seattle again. Parking is tight around here but you can find it, just have to look a bit. I'd definitely come back to this location again!

This location is smaller and has less amenities than the original Poplar location…read more It's still wonderful and perks is it's in the central Fremont area where there are tons of places to work to before and after your bouldering session / workout! There is no giant parking lot like their is at the Poplar location. I'd say the punch packs and memberships are on the expensive side but it works at all the locations (there is a new one in U District I haven't been too!). I usually get the 10-punch pass for almost $300 after tax.

It's right along the lake, so there's a welcome breeze on a nice sunny day. The slab is a great way to practice for all those runout slab climbs in Squamish and Darrington. There's even a 'just a little too high for comfort' pillar that you may want to risk on day's when you're feeling dialed in. But use the anchors too to climb any section. It's a pretty simple rock. It's up to you to think up an infinite number of ways to climb it, traverse it, and tune into your mind/body connection as you climb it. Many parts of it are actually quite challenging. If you are a student or staff member who climbs, this is THE PLACE to spend your lunch breaks. It's a secret gem tucked just out of the way to discourage the crowds. Don't tell anyone.

Having no climbing experience, I thought it was challenging but fun and totally do-able. Besides skydiving, this was my second favorite activity so far in Washington. The session kicks off with a safety overview and a practice climb up 30 feet before moving onto the next tree. Depending on the pace of your group, you could climb up to 3 trees in one session. At no point do you feel any pressure to have to climb all the way to the top. You can stop anytime and just "hang out" or descend to the ground. The guides are very helpful and patient. The equipment is checked multiple times to ensure everyone's safety. Make sure to bring some snacks, water, and a camera. You might get lucky and spot some bald eagles like we did.

I'm giving Kaf adventures 1 star because of a serious safety incident during its Rock Climbing…read moreMentorship Program. During a practice multi-pich climb, the participant assigned as my partner loaded the GRIGRI back while belaying from the top. Had I fallen, it'd have resulted in an unctrolled fall, leading to a serious injury or death. The guide did not verify the belay setup before I began climbing. I was the one who noticed the error when I got to the top. The fact that this setup went unnoticed for the entire pitch raises serious concerns about KAF's partner-check procedures, supervision, and risk management. I enrolled because KAF advertises professional instruction in safety evaluation, rope management, and multi-pitch climbing. After this incident, I no longer trust the program to provide that supervision. I cannot recommend KAF Adventures based on my experience. Even though, I emailed the KAF management about this, they haven't responded in two weeks, demonstrating the lack of care about safety.
