I got a month membership and have climbed with a couple friends. We all agreed that the route setters do a great job here. Even the 5.7 feels very varied instead of just a ladder. I like the auto belays for the times where I just want to get in a quick climbing session during a lunch break read more

I've been climbing here for about a month -- plenty of autobelays and top rope routes. Can get crowded during peak hours, but I haven't had an issue getting onto a route. Everyone is friendly and atmosphere is chill read more

Tons of autobelays so it can be great for training. Good offwidth crack. Parking is terrible. Better to just park around the block rather than wait in the lot for a spot to open up. Bring a jacket for the 5-minute walk. Too many team/comp events. It seems like 1 out of 4 times I go, a large portion of the gym is closed due to competition or team training. Yesterday, half of the bouldering area was closed for comp setting. I wish their calendar posted notices of areas being closed like this. read more

I love rock climbing, but I am not very good at it. I try to go every once in awhile hoping I will get better, so even though this place has been open for a bit I've only made it in once. It was even located in a completely different part of Lynnwood than I was guessing. My only complaint is that on a busy Saturday the parking lot is a little difficult, might be a good idea to find out in advance other options for parking if you are coming at a peak time. If you don't know rock climbing is hard work and they have rental shoes and harnesses you can use. This place is huge, with large locker rooms, an upstairs and a downstairs, a gym area and even places to sit around at tables. The upstairs has a lot of bouldering options and a place designed for kids. Seems like they offer a lot of camps/classes here too. Everything was nice and clean, everyone was super friendly and helpful. It still looks brand new. I got a voucher at an auction for the rock climbing experience and invited my family, 2 kids, 7 and 9, and another adult. Their mom came along hoping to photograph our accomplishments. This is meant to be an hour experience where you get someone to do the belaying for you while you work on your climbing. We ended up with Saul, who was the best helper ever. Don't know if he's always there, but if not you should request him. We loved him so much we even wrote out comment cards. He made the experience great for everyone. I had anticipated that we would each do a couple climbs and sit around and watch while the others climbed. I also thought our photographer would have to wait in the lobby (she did have to fill out a waiver). This was not the case, not only was Saul great at helping everyone feel less anxious and providing encouragement, he helped us get set up on the self belay routes so that we didn't spend most of our time sitting around. He did a great job helping us find routes that were appropriate and making sure we were comfortable enough to come down without his help on the self belays. He provided tons of tips and shared his love of rock climbing. He made sure we understood about bouldering and let us hang out up there a bit after our time was over. We had a great time, everyone was able to climb as much as they wanted. The 9 year old rocked it, the 7 year old made some decent climbs and had a good time. Our photographer hung out with us the whole time and took some awesome photos/videos. We had a great day and I hope we do this again in the future. If you are on the fence about trying it, definitely check it out. read more

Vertical World North - Rock Climbing Near Me - Lynnwood, Washington

Nice staff and a cool gym. Prices seem way too high - for monthly passes, shoe rentals, and day passes. Sometimes the parking lot is full. I also don't think they have yoga/fitness classes included, and most of the other climbing gyms do have classes. Since I am mostly interested in bouldering, I don't think it is the gym for me, but if you really like climbing more it seems great! read more

My husband and I had a wonderful initial experience here by taking a class and then taking our 6 year old to climb here. My son even had his birthday party here and everyone had a great time. Unfortunately, we didn't go back for about a year and our first trip back was a horrible experience. We went in signed our waivers again and in passing the girl checking us in said we would have to do the belay test again. I did a quick review of tying the knot and when I went to ask the test, they told me I could not take the test because I had practiced beforehand. This was absolutely not the case the previous time we tested and makes absolutely zero sense to me that you are forbidden from reviewing anything to be able to take the test. We ended up leaving with my son in tears and needing to get a refund. It just makes the entire experience feel very elitist and exclusionary to beginners and I don't know if my son will ever want to go back and I certainly don't. read more

We came here on a weeknight and the place was pretty crowded. That said, we had a blast and rarely had to wait for anything. There are two gravel parking lots on either side of the driveway. we had never been there before se had to watch a short safety video and sign a waiver before starting. We rented all of our equipment and the price was fair. They are building an elevator and our kids loved that there were a ton of other kids there doing after-school programs and classes. We started upstairs where there were lots of auto-belay walls and a kids bouldering area along with regular bouldering area. Once back downstairs, we did some of the regular belay walls and they seemed challenging at the right level. There are walls for all levels. The gym facility looked great and there were plenty of people working out in there. There is a random foosball table and the bathrooms are clean. By the time we left, there was no parking and they had to make an announcement for people to move their cars since some were parked illegally. The staff was great! read more

A group of friends and I went to visit this newly opened climbing gym this past Saturday and it was so much fun! This rock climbing gym is related to the Vertical World in Magnolia and Redmond. Saturday (8/10) when we went, the lady at the front said they had been open for 5 days already. The place only has top rope for now, bouldering coming soon. They also have a bunch of cardio machines setup already. Wondering if they will get more gym equipment, since the Mag location has a squat rack and other stuff. But I know it takes time to build it out so I am looking forward to what more there is to come from them! Typical climbing prices, $19 for day pass, then they also offer shoe and harness rental. The grips are super grippy since the place is new! I tried a couple of auto belays, and the routes were super fun. My friends noticed their wasn't really a slab wall at this location. Friends also said that the lead climb test here looks easier than the lead test at Mag because the route isn't on a massive overhang. You need to be belay certified to be able to belay here. You can take a test with them when you check in, they will ask you to put on your harness and then they run through the test with you, either at the rope next to the counter, or on the wall. If you haven't climbed with VW in over a year, you will have to retake the belay certification fyi. I will def be visiting here more that one opened less than 10 min from where I live! read more

Great gym with both top rope and bouldering. I don't lead climb but there are quite a few lead climb routes as well. The rotation is pretty quick and the staff are friendly. Took a class "Art of Movement" from Dave, and also took a personal lesson with him. Great coach and climber, really knowledgeable. I would recommend this gym to anyone. read more

I took the lead belay class with Devo and it was absolutely great. Devo was really knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I left the class knowing how to do it right. Overall, the staff are really friendly and helpful. They're constantly updating the routes and maintaining the autobelays for safety. It's a really great place to be a member. read more

The parking situation is horrible and only gets worse. If only they could instate a reservation system. Makes me not want to climb here.

I hadn't been bouldering in over a year so I decided to check out this gym. Parking can be tricky as the front fills quickly and there are a few additional parking spaces behind the building. Upon check-in you are required to watch a safety video, but after you pay, there isn't a lot of direction from staff on where to go, or where things are in the building. Fortunately I was with a friend that led me upstairs to the bouldering area and explained the difficulty grading for the different routes. This gym does allow kids without parental supervision, so just be sure to keep an eye out for your surroundings. read more

This gym is NICE. There are tons of routes and places to lead or top rope. The entire upstairs is bouldering and you can boulder downstairs at ropes, too. Upstairs there is a kid wall for sport climbing and bouldering. They have an awesome gym with weights and all sorts of boards and climbing doodads. If I lived closer I would absolutely climb here. Employees were super kind and the vibe among climbers was alive and well. I'll be back! read more

Been here twice both involved a refund. Thought it was a place they could help you strap in or just hook you up to the pulley so it was okay for a beginner.. this is not a beginner place someone has to know how to do rope and it's inconvenient for people who just want to climb for a day pass withought having to drive all the way to Seattle.. every place I've been to they show you or help you but this one doesn't they just offer a class. I didn't want a class I wanted help so I didn't have to show up and leave dissatisfied twice. It's not a cheap hobby and I would come here a lot more if they would've been more open to that but I do not have time for classes let alone just to pop in and have fun so bummer :/ read more

There is no bouldering there, so pretty much the best gym I've ever seen. Lead and Top rope, the walls are tall and the route setting seems really good so far. There's a second floor that isn't finished yet, but I assume they will be putting a kick a$$ weight lifting and training area up there. I can't wait. They still need to clean some stuff out, there's 2 spin bikes sitting around that must be left over from the previous building owner. We all hate cardio, but the Assault bikes and True Form runner treadmills are pretty legit. read more

Has everything you're looking for. Best climbing gym in the Seattle area! Props to Reed too

This gym is great. The staff are friendly. The person who posted a review that this has a large lead wall and isn't just a bouldering gym, c'mon. There are many bouldering-only gyms, and a huge demand for lead/sport gyms. We and our friends drive over an hour for this gym because it's the closest lead wall around. Luckily it's great, and has some nice steep angles too. read more

It was a wonderful experience taking a class here. The coach was very motivating and helpful.

Took my (almost) 6yr old today. I signed him up for one of the kids classes. He's never climbed before, and was excited, but very nervous. Nervous to the point of him having a couple outbursts and storming off. After regrouping, he tried again. He fell in love with it and didn't want to leave. I must give credit to his instructor, Ben. Ben has a very calm and patient energy about him. He taught and encouraged, and knew what to say to help my son be calm and ENJOY himself. Thank you Ben! The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The space was clean and so cool!! Can't wait to go back!! read more

Expensive for a half finished gym. I'm thankful for this place since the alternative is the nasty Everett gym. But it's still $70/month with no bouldering. And it looks like they are building the bouldering section with all the urgency they finished the main gym with. So it will be 2025 before they finish. Top rope and lead is nice. Really nice. Just seems silly to be paying that much for no bouldering. read more

Fantastic place, staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to say hi and make conversation. Top rope/bouldering are both great!

Took the intro to rock climbing class here, learned how to belay, tie in and use basic commands for climbing. I love the routes they set, the crowd that goes here is very respectful, the staff is helpful, it's a great place to meet up with friends and challenge your body and mind! Highly recommend. read more

Went today and was told on the phone that all I need was one person who is belay certified or can pass the test. So me and my girlfriend went and I took and passed the test. We went and did like 4 courses using the ropes and an employee comes over and asks if my girlfriend is belay certified. We told him no because at the front desk they only texted me so we thought we were good. Little did I know the same guy asked his other employees our names when we walked away and check his computer if she passed the test and was walking around looking for us. Other than that employee it was a good and fun experience. I guess just learn from mine and have every single person belay tested. read more

Great place! it's got all 3 bouldering, top rope, and lead. Huge place so lots of Varity to pick from and the staff is exceptional. Highly recommend going. read more

Such a fun climbing gym! The staff is really friendly and helpful getting you set up. Super clean and great routes, I recommend highly!

I would recommend using any other climbing gym in the area as this one may be nice it also has some of the worst and most costly pricing structure of any gym in the region let me break it down as to how it relates to there own two other gyms the Redmond and Seattle locations. The north location is only open 70 hours per week compared to Redmond at 86 hours and the Seattle location at 92 hours which means your paying the same and not getting the same for your money. So if that doesn't sway you enough you need to look at there pricing 70 a month per person with a 50 dollar non-negotiable registration fee per person, so yeah that's right if you want you and your wife/significant other to be a member they charge you more then any other gym in the region! They dont offer any kind of family rate for two people only do they give a discount when you have a small child under 13 years old who obviously wont be getting the same use out of the facility. I would hope you look into this yourself as I did, and before you think well maybe hes a disgruntled person yada yada I really wanted to use this gym and even gave the management team a chance to explain themselves and that was to no avail. Good luck and Happy Climbing read more
