The parking situation is horrible and only gets worse. If only they could instate a reservation system. Makes me not want to climb here.

Fantastic place, staff are so friendly and really go out of their way to say hi and make conversation. Top rope/bouldering are both great!

He made sure we understood about bouldering and let us hang out up there a bit after our time was over.

One month in to the new Summit Everett so it's time for a review!…read more First off I'd like to say that I am very happy Summit Everett is here and I'll be continuing my membership with them for the foreseeable future. Opening a rock gym in downtown Everett is not an easy venture and it's very cool that it exists. The facility is very nice. It is clean, well lit, in good order and with 24hr access it's got all the right stuff to make a gym attractive. Whether you are climbing or using the regular weights and treadmill its a very good space. Since their move they transitioned to just bouldering from both bouldering and top rope and I think this was a good move. It makes the walls in the gym more accessible to everyone and can introduce more people to climbing. I won't call bouldering an intro to top rope like some folks but it is easier to get into and I think this switch was the right move. So what could be improved? A quick note about me so you can tell where I'm coming from. I'm at Summit for the rock walls and haven't used the weights or tread mills. I'm a climber since I was young and have an ankle handicap since birth. This means I'm about a 5.12-/v5 climber and won't excel too much beyond that. Including Summit Everett I have climbed four gyms in the PNW both bouldering and ropes and those skill levels are pretty consistent. At Summit I cap at a v4, somewhere between their yellow and blue bands. Summit sets hard. This makes it a very difficult place for beginners. The Vermin scale has a lot of wiggle room so it isn't that they aren't setting according to scale it's that within the scale they set about as hard as they can. You will not find a VB route here. If you are coming from anywhere else in the area kick your climbing level down a notch. My experience is that Summit is also largely a test of physical prowess. Technique and problems solving are not as stressed. The routes meet their difficulty level based on whether you have the strength for a dynamic movement, can grip a hold, or have the reach to progress. I have yet to fail to complete a route at because I didn't think through it correctly or didn't have the technique. These challenges are as important to a skilled climber as the raw physical. Lastly, more wall space. The more options to climb the better. The weekly updates are good but more options would be awesome. This is a big ask for the recently reopened gym so I realize this likely isn't something that can be quickly fixed but I wanted to put it out there because I think it would be very beneficial. Overall, I'm very happy that. Summit Everett is here and I'm looking forward to my time there and seeing the gym grow! Thank you Summit!

In 6 months I have seen improvement and find myself doing things that I thought would take me years to learn. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, if you ever have a question they're more than happy to help. I also didn't expect my child to love it. Kids can be fickle when it comes to their interest but after one round of classes my 6 year old is getting over her fear of heights and has more noticeable self confidence when it comes to climbs. Tl:dr Friendly staff, great climbs, fairly inexpensive, and great for families. The bad reviews are not an accurate representation of what we have experienced in the almost 7 months we have been coming to Summit.

I am a regular climber somewhere around V5 and 5.10, and I found the rope course very engaging. Use coupon code: sale1 for an extra $5 discount on top of existing promotions, if you end up getting the pass to explore more of Seattle.

They have a laser tag area, rock climbing and even gem stone mining for the littles. But the main reason everyone comes here is the elevated obstacle course in air. Everyone starts out with about 30 minutes of instruction on how to navigate the course safely. This mainly due to the fact that you have two tethers and only one can be up clipped at a time. Once you are up in the obstacle course you will find green(easy), blue(intermediate) and black(oh heck no). The option for you to personalize your adventure is always in your control. The staff watches very attentively over their guests. I did see them in action a couple times sprint out to check on a potential issue, that did not materialize, but they were there. The coming down from the upper levels is the best part, zip lines. There are multiple zip lines and multiple places to exit the course. This is a fun places for the kids and adults to play and experience. The pricing was very reasonable for the time we had on the course.

Great, local, no-frills bouldering gym in Tacoma. My husband and I moved from the Bay Area to…read moreSeattle and have been checking out the local bouldering scene in the PNW - Climb Tacoma has been one of our favorite gyms to check out on a day pass since it's near my parents. FACILITIES For bouldering? Wide variety of routes for different levels and technical focus. For example, a lot of bouldering gyms we've been to have their routes go vertical to fit more climbing onto a set of panels. I like that Climb Tacoma has options where a route might go across, so I get to practice different climbing techniques. Some routes exercise grip strength, others may be more core or balance focused. It makes the experience more fun and rewarding when you complete the beta. I've only been climbing actively for a little over 7 months and can climb up to V2 routes; my husband can climb up to V5/V6. Climb Tacoma has been great because we're both able to keep busy with how many routes there are. There's even a small area for kids to practice climbing and a fun spray wall to test different holds. My only complaint with their bouldering is that their labeling system can be very confusing - you need to look at the tape color to indicate difficulty... not the color of the hold. For exercising? It's lacking - a very small fitness / workout area with little equipment compared to other climbing gyms in the area. I would say comparable to small fitness centers you get in hotels. That said... I don't come here for that, I come to boulder. LOCATION + PARKING Location is off S 38th ST so really close to Tacoma Mall or the Vietnamese area of S 38th ST... making it pretty convenient for finding food after a climbing session. In terms of crowds, it's never been a problem coming here on the weekends, the day before a holiday, or in the middle of a weekday (ex/ for their Monday special for "Femmes and Themes". Their parking seems a bit small but it's never been an issue for us as we're always able to find a spot. OVERALL Coming from the Bay Area, I appreciate how chill this climbing gym. It doesn't play loud music, people are respectful when it comes to climbing and there aren't "influencer" or gym bro vibea you get from Silicon Valley / SF gyms. If you are looking for a high end gym with the works like towel service, saunas, yoga classes, etc... then I would suggest looking elsewhere. If you're just looking to boulder in the area, this gym is great for that with extremely fair pricing. Other climbing gyms, pricing is understandably higher because there may rope courses with higher overhead. I like that what I pay here is for bouldering... and there are lots of options to choose from. Make sure to check their site for specials like Half Price First Fridays or the $15 "Femmes and Thems" discount (rentals included)!

I am used to the service from a climbing gym back in California, and there, they offer really good hospitality throughout your visit there...not just when you enter the doors to sign in. I will say that the front desk staff was indeed considerate when dealing with the finances so that people who qualify for the discount (i.e. healthcare worker, first responder, student, etc.) were covered. cute ping pong table to rest from the climbing and very clean bathroom. would be nice to have paper towels to really wipe off the chalk, though. wishing health and wellness for those who choose to climb! lots of kids here, too, so this is a cool family bonding activity for y'all to do, if you are into that
