A great Playground is also near the community center so kids can play and explore before or after their classes. We didn't even end up using the outdoor play structure (which is no longer there apparently), because the kids loved running around inside. The event happened to take place on an abnormally hot day in early May so the outdoor/indoor space was perfect. There were plenty of tables and chairs available and the staff was really helpful. We've also come here for the indoor toddler gym play time... it was okay. There aren't that many toys compared to the Spartan Recreation Center (though that one isn't free), but it was still a good time for my kiddos to run around and play on the bleachers.

Review of the Kiddo Play Area: So this pandemic thing is really taking a toll on things, and well,…read morewe have been to basically every open air playground around the Greenwood/Broadview/Carkeek area... except we realized that we haven't been to the one behind the PNA. So on a cold, non-rainy day, we took the kiddo there to see if it was any good. Keep in mind that it's reserved for the preschool during the week/business hours, but on the weekend, it was a nice change of scenery. They had a few play structures, on a mulch and rubberized area. Sure, parental guidance is required, and you really should have a "toddler" kiddo here... but for the kiddo, she enjoyed the slides, the "kitchen" and the tires. She being the expert of walking on narrow surfaces, I think enjoyed the areas like a balance beam master in training. If you have been everywhere, and you want a playground that is a nice scenery change, here's one more to add to the list. Also, nearby is Red Mill Burger, so there's that you could be eating, while your kiddo is playing to their heart's delight.

Inside, too, enjoy the gym and the lap pool, a lobby space to gather and converse or take a moment away to read, check Yelp!, and more. Staff usually man the desk at the entry and can answer questions, point you in the right direction and provide information about the goings-on at the community center.

First off, it's indoors, which means swimming all year round. It's huge, has diving boards, a few bleachers to sit, and is freaking cold. Sign up early for lessons and classes. Always call ahead to check for closures due to cleaning and maintenance. These people really need to heat their pool better. Especially for all the kids swimming in it. We've done the baby class here and it's terrible for children and infants to have to brave cold water. I've seen plenty of people having to leave early because their infant can't handle the cold. I know they've been informed of the problem, but they don't seem to care. And honestly, it is a tad cold even for me and I'm a god damn Polar Bear Plunge member! I love to cold water swim but not when I'm in a pool. The locker rooms are decent. Clean. Enough benches, only one changing table though. Plenty of hooks, lockers, showers and toilets. Even some crazy-spiny-dry-your-wet-stuff thing. Strangely enough, Seattle sure has some body issues. It's just silly to see grown women nervously and dangerously stumbling under a towel so no one can see their "goodies" while trying to carol their children. Maybe I've just been in the medical world too long or I just have no shame. Either way, prepare to get looked at like a leper if you get naked without reservation. The parking is ample, though you get plenty of Lake City spill off and slack-jawed yokel teens running around. So watch your belongings and lock the doors. Vandalism and break-ins are normal. And it is so close to the beautiful Meadowbrook Pond. A great excuse to explore that area.

Doesn't get better than that! Second there were a TON of riding toys, buckets of cars, and everything you could hope for a very busy toddler who needs to burn off energy! It was pretty quiet when we arrived at 5.30pm. My daughter loved playing with the dolls, stroller, car carrier and grocery cart. While my son played with every dump truck, bull dozer and pick up. They both loved riding on the dozen + riding toys. Cars, motorcycles, tricycles, big wheels, etc. There's a great climbing toy with a tall slide. A teeter totter, play houses, merry-go-round, and so much more! Also looks like they allow you to host parties in the space.
