Doron was the first contractor that I spoke with about my project, and was by far the best experience that I had. He took the time to really look at my space, listened to my needs and specific requests, and gave great suggestions on how I could improve it. After taking measurements he sat down with me for over an hour patiently answering all of my questions. This was my first time considering a major remodel and he was great at anticipating where I would need guidance. He also showed me various completed projects in his portfolio and I was so impressed with the quality of his work. I could tell that he really takes pride in his team and his craftsmanship. Doron was able to provide me with an initial quote on the same day as our consultation. I ended up with further questions and changes, and he graciously set up a zoom call with me to address them the following day. Out of all the contractors that I spoke with, Doron stuck out for being the most passionate about his work and also the most detail oriented. I really appreciated his honesty with me about what I could reasonably expect. As this was my first project, I didn't have a good idea on what to expect regarding costs. I didn't end up moving forward with Method Remodeling because of my budget, but would love to work with them in the future when I am better established.

Jay performed a foundation inspection and identified multiple areas of inadequate work in the floor beams and footers. This required patient assessment of what appeared to have been done compared to what the structural engineers had designed. He then creatively performed work to bring the supportive structures to what the original plan had called for but somehow my prior contractor missed or took shortcuts. Jay also performed earthquake retrofit and worked to get the subsequent inspection smoothly signed off. In the years since Jay performed his excellent work, we have noticed no more seasonal shifts in the problematic part of the home. Jay was honest, ethical, and transparent with his work and we are very satisfied with his work. I owe him an apology for this very late review.

His attention to detail was stellar. They were under budget and on schedule until 2 (TWO!) shelter-in-place forced shutdowns (one that lasted more than a month). Bryan and his crew worked closely with us to make sure we had a functioning kitchen during the monthlong stoppage. And after work was allowed to resume, they quickly and efficiently completed the project. There were roughly 6 crew members who worked on our house at different stages and they--along with the office support (Carolyn and Renee)--were extremely skilled, courteous, and helpful. What was perhaps most impressive was how they worked out any issues that arose during construction. Bryan and his crew always offered options or suggestions. Special thanks to the expertly skilled workers including Eladio, Luis, Jose, Roma,n and Ivan for their pleasant nature and their fine work. Their communication throughout the pandemic -- and the entire process -- was crucial as we navigated all the protocols and changes, and as a result of their fine efforts they created a much larger, functional, and beautiful kitchen and dining area. We asked several local contractors for quotes and Derek Kulda is the only one who actually took the time to take measurements, talk to us and walk through our different options. Well... two small bathroom remodels turned into a brand new house - new floors, plumbing, electrical, paint, bathrooms, walk in closet. Obviously we went way over budget and it took longer than anticipated, but the reaction we've received from everyone has been incredible. Our home appraised for over $125k more than what we paid and we couldn't be happier. So although the HORRIBLE mess is still there, it is not the fault of Kulda and Sons, but rather of the homeowner. I apologize for the posting. I assumed because the Kulda & Sons sign was posted in front of the home they were the contractors. I truly believe they were not. I wouldn't hesitate to use Masterful Construction again, but I probably would work harder to make sure I have chemistry with the designer, who I never gelled with. My understanding is she isn't working with them any longer anyway. That said, the bathroom looks great in the end.
