we were in a really bad situation. Our house caught on fire and the person who mainly deals with situations like that was on a trip. When she came trying to get somebody to board up the house and we couldn't really find anyone to help us. But this company stepped in and got everything boarded up for us and it was an amazing job. They were lifesaver. read more

These people are incredible. They were doing a low dollar job for me that didn't have a lot of big dollar work yet they gave me big dollar service. I personally think the crew for the great work realizing it was not a big money maker yet I got the big money maker kind of treatment. read more

If you ever have the horrible experience of a fire in your house, I hope you have the good fortune of having Coast Construction come to the rescue. It is surreal to live through a fire in your house like you see on TV, so when they rolled up in the big truck with plywood and snacks for my family, it was a relief. Kenyan drives the big truck and has a great crew that came out in the middle of the night to keep us safe! We weren't planning on doing a remodel but Mike Mardis made it easier on us by walking us through the entire restoration process. The entire estimating and project management team all took their time helping us with our insurance adjuster and helping us get the best replacement parts for our home. Praying our next Construction project is planned but even if it's an emergency and reconstruction, we are calling Coast Construction first. You should do the same! read more

If you ever need help with after a fire, you have to call Coast Construction. We had a fire that caused extensive damage to our home and the entire interior needed to be rebuilt. After our initial contractor ghosted us, I reached out to Kevin with Coast. From our initial conversation he was incredibly helpful and immediately got our project back on track, taking care of everything (including working with the insurance company). Linda Larez was our project manager and working with her was amazing. She was in constant communication, keeping us informed throughout the entire process and guiding us through the many decisions that we needed to make. She was so thoughtful and clearly cared about making sure everything went right and that we would be pleased with the work. We couldn't be happier with the work and service that Coast provided. It's devastating trying to figure out what to do and where to go after a house fire, but Coast came to our rescue. The end result is that out home has been restored and it's more beautiful than ever! read more

I wish I knew about Coast a year ago when I suffered major water damage. Teresa and Ramon inspected my home for the extent of damages to repair. I was so impressed with their thoroughness that I offered to write a review on my initial experience. This company is a well kept secret! read more

A tree fell on our house, with moderate damage, including one exterior wall taken down, damage to the roof, and various structural damage and interior damage due to the tree and related water damage. Kenyon first provided speedy response for tarping the roof and missing wall for heavy rains that were occurring. Coast then worked with our insurer to develop approved repair plans, coordinated engineering plans and city permitting, and worked to complete the reconstruction. Coast uses the same "Xactimate" work scope and cost estimate software as the insurer to help facilitate agreement. The overall project took a lot longer than initially expected, but this was mostly due to the insurer. However, Coast helped coordinate correspondence, approvals, and payments directly with the insurer and separately with the mortgage company, even with the insurer changing adjusters more than ten times! Mostly due to a couple long delays and related turnover of project manager at Coast, there were a couple issues with the construction scope later on (missing scope items) needing resolution, but Coast and Kenyon were professional and worked with me for equitable solutions. Overall, I think Coast did a very good job with the construction quality and helping to resolve various issues along the way. I do strongly recommend them. read more

Finding a company as reliable and responsive as Coast Construction is a rarity. They are lifesavers!! I've had my share of flakey contractors who left me in the dark or left things unfinished. Coast is the total opposite. After my house burned essentially to the ground... I worked with Linda who was so awesome . She was my go-to during the entire rebuild process. I didn't know what to do after a fire. Linda worked with my insurance company and took the stress off of me. I was able to get ahold of them even at night when my insurance was giving me different stories. For anyone who is looking to rebuild after a fire (or flood), I cannot recommend Coast Construction enough. read more

We suffered a catastrophic fire at our rental building that displaced 19 tenants. Coast Construction was a great blessing to us in our worst time of need. We were in shock and traumatized, and our tenants were even more so. Coast stepped in and coached us through the whole process, from emergency board-up of the building, to what to say to our tenants, to providing our tenants with food and drink while we waited around for five hours for the fire to be put out and all the ensuing work that followed. There were other fire damage construction companies present, but Coast provided by far the most complete service. They gave us a lot of invaluable information, both verbally at the time, and in writing for us to read later. The literature they gave us included very detailed explanations of all the things that happen after a fire, all the work that would need to be done, and many of the scams to watch out for. Coast came out again the next day to help us through the process of getting the tenants' possessions out, and the process of disconnecting from the tenants, so that they could move on. CC has a big office that is staffed by knowledgeable estimators, people that used to work in the insurance industry and know how the game is played, as well as experienced builders. They are obviously very passionate about helping people through one the most stressful and scary events they will ever experience. read more

I wish I had read the negative reviews before hiring this company to help with repair of a building water leak. They were on our insurance company vendor list so I incorrectly thought they were vetted and would be responsive. Not so. It is now approaching the one year mark and we were recently told that they just found a new issue. I agree with the previous reviewer who said that it is not worth the ulcer to use them. Your best best is to find another company. AVOID read more

"We only have great things to say about Coast Construction. The team at Coast did a top notch restoration, renovation and new construction on our home. We love it and are very pleased with the results! We will definitely call them again for our next project! They were dependable, responsive, and executed quality workmanship. We are particularly impressed with Coast Construction's dedication to getting the project completed timely and on or under budget. They treated our home as if it was their own. I would not hesitate to recommend Coast construction to my family and friends. We really appreciated the professionalism and attention to details and quality that the whole team at Coast Construction gave. They made what could've been quite disruptive a very smooth experience, and the final results are great. Thanks for the great design help and quality from the whole team. We would highly recommend Coast Construction. From the initial contact with Kenyon to the project manager Jessica, the process was professional and friendly. We had a 1906 house that suffered a lot of damage in a fire. Coast took care of everything, from permits and architectural drawings to clearing out the debris and recommending companies to handle the items that they do not do (i.e. lead abatement, etc). They also worked well with the insurance company. Even with supply issues they kept the project moving forward. Jessica (project manager) listens, is organized and took us through the process step by step. Foremost there was a feeling of support and their wish to meet and exceed our expectations. Coast Construction has a "can do" attitude and they had a shared passion for the project. We couldn't be more pleased with their work, and the results in restoring the house. read more

Just wanted to thank Kenyon Wills from Coast Construction. We had a garage fire this morning that very fortunately was contained and put out by the Alameda Fire Department (thanks AFD). We didn't know what we needed, and the fire department clued us in on companies that could help but could also be troublesome. How fortunate are we that the fire was contained in a corner area, that we caught it in time, and the AFD were able to contain it? How lucky were we that Kenyon was the first one to introduce his services? This was all new to us and we could have easily listened to anyone to make the problem go away. I'll tell you why we chose Kenyon. He introduced himself and his services when things were settling down and then stepped aside and waited so I can make a decision. He did not push. He knew we would have been vulnerable. He even warned us of himself. Can a person be really this honest or this dishonest? We called our insurance company and asked about these emergency contractors/construction. They said we can go ahead. And when I got out of the house, he didn't hover towards me, he patiently waited until I looked and called for him. We are glad that Kenyon was there. He was so prepared. He walked us through the process, and explained what he can do and what others can and should do for us. He went above and beyond. He may not have made the problem all go away but he put us at ease. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you so much! read more

I found this company when I was looking for a reliable and reputable company to help with water damage repairs. If you need any water or fire damage repairs done, this is the company you want! I was so stressed over the water damage in my home and didn't know where to start. This company made the whole experience so easy and stress free. Everyone I worked with was extremely pleasant, particularly Carlos. He was able to answer all questions I had and always remained extremely professional and personable. We had a stove fire in the late afternoon a few weeks ago. Super impressed with the quality of their work. It seemed like they genuinely cared about us and ensured we were well-satisfied with the work. I talked to Linda Larez and she answered all my questions. I have had bad experiences with construction companies talking down to me, but she was amazing and down to earth. She answered all of my questions and was transparent about the cost. read more

Heading in to about the last leg of our total home rebuild to the studs with Coast and I can't wait to yelp them! Every area in this build was handled really well. We even had a tiny conflict that showed whom we were dealing with and again, all handled reeeeeally well! Chris B our project manager is divine! She gets you. She can feel what you're feeling and put it in to action! She's your contact to every aspect happening on the job site with amazing results! Chris went on vacation and I couldn't even tell. Linda the other PM seamlessly jumped right in to my emails answering all questions as if she was on the project as well. This is a mature company from the owner on down. They've done this before. Maybe a million times :) and they know WTH they're doing. We took 3 months to interview and choose our contractor. We picked Coast out of a pool of 4 total. One was even a friend. Our own friend didn't see our vision! Steve the owner of Coast came out to the job site and we could immediately tell he was the one. So will you. This rebuild is a very expensive, emotional, displacing heart ache. Thank God we're being handled by absolute professional bad asses who make it all worth it!! The house is looking insanely awesome! Will post pics when done. I just couldn't wait to yelp! read more

Someone from Coast Construction Co. came to my house to patch a small hole from where a motorcycle crashed into my house. The gentleman who came to assess the situation patched up the hole without charging us anything - he did not even write up the repair. It was such a surprising event and my whole family was shaken up, but it was such a relief for us to have this wonderful gentleman come and fix this problem for us. I worked with Kenyon Wills and would recommend him. He showed up after I had a fire in a home that was about to be sold. It was a very stressful event. The fire department broke the solid wood front door and broke the door jam holding it as they entered the house. He helped re-secure the house and was helpful and communicative and took the time to answer questions and explain everything. It was an intense time. I would recommend working with him again. read more

very happy w Coast. They are straight-forward about their process and how they interact with the insurance company to repair fire damage. I got the feeling the whole way through that they were in charge of things and working on behalf of the customer, not the insurance company. Work took longer than I wished it would, but that seemed more like just how things go in a big project than anything else. Permits really take a long time to get! read more

My home recently was burglarized. They entered the house by busting down the front door. My insurance company contacted this company to secure the premises. Kenyon Wills, from Coast Construction, quickly responded and totally secured that entrance to my house. Furthermore he offered to walk through my building to check out the other possible access points. Although none required repair work, he offered advise on how I could improve my home perimeter protection going forward. At a time that I was very concerned and stressed, he offered excellent suggestions that made me feel confident that I could improve my home's protection and thereby reduce the likelihood of a reoccurrence. Therefore I highly recommend him and his company. read more

I live next door to a house that has extensive fire damage and I have had the pleasure of watching Coast Construction work on it for the last couple months. Color me impressed. As a construction industry professional I have encountered more than my fair share of shady GC who cut corners and phony up unneeded change orders, etc. I have seen none of this from Coast. Further, their workmanship is as good as I have seen over the last 20 years of architectural construction management - absolutely no corners cut, in fact quite the opposite. They obviously take pride in their work and know what they are doing. I am constantly warning friends and family not to trust contractors, to check references, licences etc before hiring anyone and especially before giving them any money (as an aside never ever ever give a contractor money up front, ONLY PAY FOR WORK THAT IS COMPLETED AND THAT YOU CAN VERIFY). I am delighted at long last to say hire this company, they are about as good as it gets, and most of all they are honest. read more

After my elderly neighbor's house suffered a damaging fire, I got to witness this company in action, and I am impressed. Kenyon made his appearance as the fire was being put out, and the coaching that he provided my great neighbors was invaluable. He went over all the complicated issues that homeowner's encounter, making sure that they were on top of all aspects of the insurance, displacement, and reconstruction processes. He is a genuine, grounded individual who clearly cares about the well being of those who experience the terrible disruption of a disaster. He also took the time to knock on all of their neighbor's doors to update them on the situation, and rally them to be vigilant about possible criminal activity during the process.
