Update: Came back here, same food. Totally inconsistent- the gyro was had about half the amount of filling; ordered falafel as well. Really fresh yet bland, sadly. And very dark. See photos. Not sure if it's worth it.

It's a busy spot. People were coming in and out. We got the mixed platter and the honey garlic wings. The wings were fried well and were meaty. The sauce was good but too sweet. We got the mixed platter and it was disappointing. The lamb was cold. I think they were hoping the rice and chicken would heat it up. It was also heavily spiced. They don't clean the tables. We told them the table was dirty and they didn't care. They also don't have wet wipes, a sink or bathroom so you can't clean your hands after. The least they can do is give wet wipes for your hands even though they are a quick pick up place. I also tried the chai. It was okay. It's on the mill side so if you like a stronger tea taste then you can pass on it. Mera's Tip: try the wings

This was the best platter I had in NYC. From meat, fries, to vegetables and generous sauce. Everything was incredibly delicious and in great amounts. The staff was really friendly and chill, and they were really fast with my order. 10/10 would recommend.

First time here today and ordered chicken platter and lamb chicken platter and it was ok. In the beginning the food tasted good until I got to the bottom of my rice and it had a sour taste to it, maybe because they had salad in the same tray. So when I eat my halal I like it with white sauce, bbq sauce and a tad bit spicy. Hence their spicy sauce is SPICY! Be sure to get a drink prepared and ready to take down the spicy. So this platter all comes with salad, rice, and seasoned fries. The portions are pretty big! Place was pretty small so it's like playing musical chairs trying to find a seat. Wait is a bit longer because they seem to be pretty busy. Overall food was good. I recommend trying it with white sauce and bbq sauce!

This is a small fast food restaurant that specializes in halal food (lamb and chicken platters) and sandwiches. It is a little more expensive than the typical street carts, at $9.99 for chicken or lamb, or $10.99 for a mix platter with chicken and lamb. However, the large size of the platter justifies the price. The food is almost much fresher. The platter comes with rice, salad (mostly cucumber) and their own fries. The french fries are really good and have their own seasoning that gives them an orange color. My only criticism is that the chicken and lamb meats are a bit too salty. I still finished everything, but the saltiness was very noticeable.

They gave us a large portion of food. Chicken has a lot of flavors. Falafel is crispy. But it's a bit overdone. .

We got mix rice platter and buffalo chicken. I like how the platter comes with salad and fries. It is pricier than the street food vendor and shah's halal. I have tried this place atleast 4 times and i still don't like their rice. I will stick to the street vendors. Their rice has a funky smell to it. Service is quick. They do deliveries and have uber eats and other delivery platforms. Not a fan of their buffalo chicken because it is frozen.

Got delivery. The platter came with white sauce mixed in and several sauces on the side: more white sauce, standard hot sauce, a green hot sauce, and barbecue sauce. Gyro was a bit messy and hard to eat with just my hands. Plenty of napkins. Portions are fine. Halal carts are cheaper of course.

Chicken Platter

the space itself is small and occasionally hard to get a table. the service is good, the food is ready very quickly, never waiting more than ten minutes. the food itself is so so so good, it's very flavorful and the sides are very fresh the cucumber tomato salad is refreshing after the chicken with red sauce. the fries are so crispy and delicious. if you're getting a chicken platter get red and white sauce. also this place is open so late, which is very good on a long night! i totally would recommend this place for a quick and filling meal!

Two Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Let me tell you they don't play around!! Their spicy chicken sandwich combo is by far the best in my opinion! They LOAD up on the fries tooo! The box was heavy!! Love them so much. My forever go to Halal Spot!

Sherry, the owner, personally served us and was incredible, so warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We also had the chance to meet her husband, the co-owner and chef, and it was such a pleasure to tell him firsthand how outstanding the food was. They are both unbelievably kind and welcoming. Now the food, wow. I had the Falafel House Platter, two friends ordered the regular falafel platters, and my wife had the gyro platter. Every single dish was stellar. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The falafel was hands down some of the most flavorful and perfectly textured I've ever had, crispy on the outside and tender and herby on the inside. The gyro was high quality, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. Even the rice was thoughtfully seasoned and delicious on its own, which says a lot. The service, the atmosphere, and the food were all unreal. Truly a 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back.

Second, I don't think that there is a single item that Falafel Bites doesn't do well. Seriously, take it from someone who has tried most things on their menu haha. I had their koshary recently & it was absolutely delicious. Definitely coat the koshary in garlic & hot sauce that are on the table or else you will simply be doing yourself a disservice. All in all, Falafel Bites is fantastic!

This time I had the mushroom and onion hummus, which was a little watery and only came with one small piece of pita for a large bowl. I also got the fries, which are still actually pretty good. The reason for the steep downgrade aside from the dwindling food quality and the so-so drinks, is the service this time was just ATROCIOUS. Bushwick service has gotten kinda cruddy overall these days because so many places have this transplant hipster vibe where they just can't be bothered, but this guy acted annoyed and put out to even be there. It was not great last time, but this time was astonishingly bad. He took my order and as soon as my food came out, he disappeared behind a screen and didn't come back out unless someone came in the door (which was only a couple times). Never checked on me. Never asked if I wanted another drink (my mint julep was awful, so moot point I guess). I had to wait for him to emerge when a to go order came in for me to flag him down for the check. Probably the last time I come back here.

The hummus and falafel plate was good. I really liked the rice and veggies - the flavors paired well. Maybe too much hummus for the portion ratio? Decent price for what you're getting, maybe $40 including tax/tip(?) for two of these plates.

If you are looking for a neighborhood place to dine regularly, this spot is not a bad choice. As for food, I think the beat thing they make is the falafel, which are crunchy on the outside and loose on the inside. The rest of the El Toum Appetizers was just okay. I didn't love their hummus, baba ganoush, or tabouli. The accompanying pita bread was average as well. On the Mix Kebab Platter, the kofta was tender, though could be more juicy and flavorful. The lamb was decent too, but the surprise was the chicken. For Breast meat, it was extremely moist and delicious. I do wish the food was slightly better, but definitely decent enough that I would come back. Like I said, not a bad place to grab a bite if you live nearby.

ALL the meats have a nice seasoning and flavor on them. The salmon was good but too soft for my liking. The artichoke appetizer was enjoyable but I wish it had some sumac and a bit of tahini on top of it to give it more flare. The tabouleh, famous, hummus and baba ganoush were very flavourful. The garlic was prominent. We also got the burger on a different day and it was perfectly cooked. The fries were thick. Very good fries. Dessert... I love that he doesn't add a lot of sugar syrup to his desserts. They are balanced so well. The taste of rose water with the sugar coating the phillo sheets is comforting. The restaurant decor is simple. I love the mosaic candle lights and the random welcoming signs and pictures of Lebanon landmarks. Mera's Tip: eat here

If memory serves correctly, this cart started initially under the 7 train 46th Street station tracks before moving further into the Sunnyside Arch (#1). Since the name has taken off, even the cart looks different with bright colors and big branding. The good news is the food is still tasty. Most of the time, I tend to go for the evening hours when I might not be completely sober (#2) aiming for my go-to combination lamb and chicken over rice with a blanket slathering of white sauce and a dash of hot sauce. I also found the service to be friendlier at night with Muhammad (?). However, even during the daytime, the cart serves as an excellent lunch option. It's a different crew but the food is no less tasty. Different crowds are here at different times, so there are weights occasionally, but I found that the food has always been consistent without much of a wait.
