To be completely honest, I thought it was even a little better than the Union Turnpike location. Nephew came to visit and begged non stop to bring him here before he left. So being the kind person I am, and to quiet him (lol) we popped in after work one evening to grab him something to eat. Upon entering you see the food/prep station which shows all the ingredients and them prepping the food. Then you reach the order station/cashier. They have a big TV screen above that displays all the items that are available. He decided that he wanted to go with the chicken wings AND the chicken over rice platter with fries. I guess he is a growing boy! I decided to order myself some seasoned fries. Can pay with either cash or card. Told that it would be a few minutes. We moved to the side. They have a few high tables and chairs if people would like to eat there. Fridge with juices or sodas & cakes. Also a freezer with ice cream. Service was fast and we able to head out. I ordered two chicken sandwiches from this establishment. The sandwiches were served with with mold on the bread All over Shortly after consuming the food, I became severely ill with food poisoning symptoms. This incident has caused me significant physical distress, as well as severe anxiety regarding food safety. I have preserved clear photographic and video evidence documenting the molded bread, as well as proof of my purchase. Friend recommended this place for lunch if going to the Queens court for early voting at Helen Marshall Center. Tried their combo and it definitely hit the spot. For $10 you get 2 proteins and rice, salad and fries. They didn't hold back on the amount of food that fit the container. I ordered chicken and beef. I liked it so much, I went back again and this time ordered the fried fish combo and liked it again. So I guess I have no complaints. I also tried an ice cream pop. It was very creamy. Liked that too. I feel that this is a great option for fast food not from a food truck. Just something else to eat instead of burgers or sandwiches. Their service was fast and friendly. Do not Uber Eats from this location. I've ordered from here before in person and it was fine, but I'd rather just order from the LIC location. The portions were small and they do not put the sauces you request. I requested green sauce on the platter and they put a tiny squirt in the corner of the tray. I haven't reviewed in a while, but I have ordered several times since. The food is just not as good as it was before. Sometimes the meat is too salty and I don't think the hummus is homemade anymore. Decided to order from here via Ubereats a few days ago because i did not feel like cooking. Also, I haven't had Halal food in ages. I got the Chicken over Rice Platter with fries and it was sooo good! Everything was fresh and tasty including the salad. Portions were excellent, fries were perfectly crisp, chicken was tender, the rice pilaf (which I'm not usually a fan of) was enjoyable as well. They followed my special instructions and added ONLY the sauces that I requested to my food. Also gave me some on the side per my request at no extra charge! This is fairly a new Halal spot maybe a year old or so.... we use to come here way back but then stoped because the old owners let it go ......... Glad we stopped in again; the restaurant is very clean; the grillman was on point I like my lamb a Lil crispy so he put it on the grill to crisp it up .... Made me an awesome salad with the works and then topped it with plenty of lamb & of course their Halal Halal white sauce & a streak of their hot sauce ... "Over rice" joints are a dime a dozen in Queens. Halal munchies manages to stand out above most of them due to their unique preparation, a cilantro based sauce and friendly service. I found them to be tastier than the regular offerings we normal go to. As expected, there were leftovers and the food tasted much better the next day after it had marinated overnight. I'm not the biggest fan of fries on top of the food for takeout. By the time you eat, they are pretty soggy and sad looking. But I'm sure it's different on the spot. This place is awesome, great food & delivery is fast. About 15-20 for Forest Hills. It's a great value too. They give you so much food, you can stretch a platter into two meals. Don't sleep on their falafel, it's crispy and moist, not dry like other places. Their fries are seasoned and delicious. But the sauces are amazing. You can ask for it on the side, this way you can control how much you want it on your meal. The white sauce I think has dill in it. The green sauce is sweet, sour and has a hint of heat. The red sauce is spicy. I had leftover white sauce and paired it with cheese, meat and crackers plate for Thanksgiving. Our go-to is usually the combo platter and kofta platter with sides of fallafel and fries. If you can it's probably better to pick up in person since the food delivery apps add $2 to each platter and other fees. read more

Do not let the hot sauce fool you; it is a very slow, buildable burn that will make you wish you didn't use all your white sauce. So Halal Munchies has been on my list of places for a while, so I was finally able to drop by and now I will give an honest review. The food was very good, I had chicken over rice and it comes with a small salad and their seasoned fries for about 12.99, I also got a whole pita bread which was an extra 2 dollars so in total 14.99. The service was great and I received my food very fast. They have it pre-cooked for the most part, yet it tastes fresh and it's very filling. The seasoned fries were really well done, the flavors mixed well with the chicken rice and sauces. The ambiance wasn't the greatest however it's not that type of place. It's more aimed as a takeout establishment and should be treated as so. They do have limited seating but I didn't stay. While the price was intimidating for me since I'm used to the trucks pricing, it was well worth the money spent and will likely be going again at some point.
