Falafel Bites is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, it felt special. It's a family-owned spot, and you can truly feel the heart behind it. Sherry, the owner, personally served us and was incredible, so warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We also had the chance to meet her husband, the co-owner and chef, and it was such a pleasure to tell him firsthand how outstanding the food was. They are both unbelievably kind and welcoming. Now the food, wow. I had the Falafel House Platter, two friends ordered the regular falafel platters, and my wife had the gyro platter. Every single dish was stellar. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. The falafel was hands down some of the most flavorful and perfectly textured I've ever had, crispy on the outside and tender and herby on the inside. The gyro was high quality, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. Even the rice was thoughtfully seasoned and delicious on its own, which says a lot. First & foremost, Sherri is awesome. Every time I stop by she's greeted me & been attentive despite being the only one out front & being busy. Second, I don't think that there is a single item that Falafel Bites doesn't do well. Seriously, take it from someone who has tried most things on their menu haha. I had their koshary recently & it was absolutely delicious. Definitely coat the koshary in garlic & hot sauce that are on the table or else you will simply be doing yourself a disservice. Was walking in the neighborhood when we passed this spot and decided to stop in since we love Mediterranean food and we were NOT disappointed! We decided to dine in instead of grabbing to go. It's a small and intimate spot few seating, like a mom and pop restaurant. Service was friendly. The lady at the register greeted us and explained that everything is made after it's ordered, so there would be a little bit of a wait. She pointed us to a wall full of games that we could use while we wait. Super cute and tons of options. We opted for connect four. They don't serve alcohol. We opted for the alcohol free Egyptian beer Laziza (which she said translates to "delicious". We had the peach and green apple. Both were good but I personally preferred the peach. The food came out hot and fresh and really didn't take too long. We had the lamb and chicken over rice , the falafel, and the shrimp pita. Food itself was so good and great portions. The small restaurant was clean. The server, Sherri, was sweet and thoughtful. The lamb gyro, home-made lentil soup, falafel pita, baklava and grape leaves were awesome in every way. Prices were quite modest given the portion sizes and freshness of the food. Sherri did advise in advance that the gyro might not be exactly as one would find in a Greek restaurant, as this was Egyptian-style. Either way, it was obviously a gyro with all of the expected ingredients plus a bit of extra fresh vegetables. Delicious! I got takeout twice while visiting the area and would absolutely be a regular customer if I lived nearby. I had read the hostile, computer generated, copy/paste answers to the negative reviews which, to me, seemed suspicious. Whoever manages the online responses for this business should rethink their wording and tactics. I found those replies a little scary and definitely odd, which is why I almost did not even try Falafel Bites. I'm glad I went anyway because I loved the food and in-person hospitality. There was no hint in the restaurant of the online hostility. But there may be others out here who are put off by the angry replies to negative reviews and therefore don't try the food. We all know that you can't please everyone all the time, and there are certainly some nutty people out here so, Falafel Bites owners, for your own business, maybe tone down the angry responses? I placed a relatively large in-person takeout order with Sherry, so I haven't tasted everything yet, BUT what I have eaten so far was absolutely delicious! Everything was so fresh since it was made to order. I appreciate Sherry's patience with me and my one million questions as I narrowed down my order. She even gave me a call when my order was ready. Their fatoush and baba ganoush were really flavorful. I barely shared the fatoush with my family and I don't regret it. The pita chips were freshly made and very crunchy. The falafel, beef moussaka, and beef gyro pita were all divine; my family even added the baba ganoush to the beef gyro pita because it was so good. They didn't have any kunafa with cheese when I stopped by, so Sherry recommended the kunafa with cream and it was delicious with the perfect sweetness. The basbousa was sweeter than the kunafa, but still delicious. I will have leftovers and my unopened item for lunch or dinner tomorrow. read more
