Although we we the first people there at 1pm for dine-in, there was a steady stream of take-out orders getting picked up, as well as other (mostly men) coming to dine. The chairs are wide and overstuffed, and the tables are just the right height. It's a, "have another bite" atmosphere. There are long prayers coming from the speakers. Even a non-Arabic speaker like me knows that, "Bismillah" doesn't rhyme! The better half's take on his kebab? "This is the best lamb I've ever had!". I thought the shwarma and fries were great, but the hummus served with warm pita, some fruity, green olive oil, and a sprinkling of sumac/ za'atar really knocked it out of the park. I was dipping my fries in it! We ended the meal with a long slice of pistachio backlava. Oh, so good!

I made sure to ask before, but I don't know where the miscommunication happened. The chicken lacked flavor, but more importantly, it was not fully cooked and was squishy. I was able to take a photo because I was in a rush and the only parts of the chicken that I was able to eat were when I had to cut a piece off of cooked meat. I wish them nothing but the best, but the quality of food needs to get better for this to be edible because uncooked meat is very unsafe. That was very disappointed with my food and I wish I could've stayed back to speak to the owner, but he had left at the time. We started with the lentil soup, boiling hot and full of lemon juice and black pepper. Mango lassis for both of us, and when we asked for tap water, we were given an entire pitcher of ice water for the table, with two cups. My husband ordered lamb handi, cubes of tender meat in a thick gravy with tomatoes, onions and green peppers. He had ordered it "Medium spicy", but I think the kitchen was grading on a curve: It was less punchy than the soup. Still, I wouldn't order "Hot" as I once did here: The chef takes pride in his liberal use of peppers at this level. (The menu warns you: "This is a dish for stronger constitutions"). My lamb shashlik was char grilled on a skewer (thoughtfully removed prior to serving) with slices of tomato, onions and green peppers, plated on a sizzling iron plate. The chunks of lamb had been marinated: They were so tender! The garlic naan? Fresh from a tandoor oven, with a little char, lots of butter and garlic, and a little parsley. It was so fresh and good! After the meal our waiter asked us if we would like tea, but I couldn't have eaten anything more (though I strongly recommend their creamy rice pudding!)

Desi has better curries and rice and Alibaba has better kebabs and naan. Both are great and in my opinion are the two best curry spots in Buffalo (way better than India Gate or Taj if you are okay with Pakistani style curries (generally have more oil than Indian curries). I highly recommend the chicken biryani and the chicken achari curry. The achari is my favorite curry in Buffalo. Portions are massive and the small curry is more than enough for one person. Note: if you order using Doordash they don't have bread listed on the app. Just order a mango lassi and put that you want naan in the instructions. They'll call you if there are any issues. They are very friendly and communicative. Bonus, the food always arrives quickly and piping hot.

Everything is thoughtfully prepared and really delicious. In addition to that, it's an excellent value. The best value on the menu? The fried shrimp skewer; it's five or six good sized fried shrimp on a skewer for $2.99. Literally the best deal in town! The main draw for me is the freshly fried chicken tenders. These aren't your typical frozen-to-fried corner store (or bar menu) chicken tenders. These are a million times better, and cost half as much. They're using fresh, never frozen, hand breaded tenders here...and you can definitely tell the difference. The menu is pretty diverse. Everything we've tried so far has been delicious. The prices are good enough that we will order again regularly, especially when I have a chicken tender craving. Also! Their honey mustard dipping sauce is really good...so is the Chester's signature sauce, very Cajun tasting. This may seem like your regular fast-food joint, but it isn't.
