A coworker found this gem today through Yelp. We are high school teachers in the home stretch and it's Regent's week. We're tired and hungry! What a fantastic place! Definitely not fancy or overdone, but man, the food!!! The first thing I noticed upon entering was budgies chirping upstairs and fire detectors chirping in the main room. Thankfully, I do not care about these things. The person behind the counter was speaking to someone else and did not acknowledge us right away. Thankfully, I realize that I am not the center of the universe and can wait my turn. We checked out the menu for a while, then placed our orders. We were told it would take around 20 minutes. It did. It was worth it. The butter chicken was amazing. Easily the best I have ever had. Naan was soft and fresh with crispy bits and sesame seeds on top. Veggie Samosas were a little spicier than I have had previously. I like these better. The Palak Paneer was super spinachy and perfectly spiced with chunks of what appeared to be homemade cheese interspersed. The enormous about of falafel you receive for an appetizer portion was crispy and delicious, and the garlic sauce set it off perfectly. When we were just getting ready to roll ourselves out the door, the man who took our order came out with little bowls of dessert. I have no idea what it is actually called...like rice pudding had a baby with almond paste and coconut. It was delicious and tipped me just over the edge to food coma. :-) (I still ate it all.) Do yourself a favor and try this place.

I ordered from here through Grubhub and was not disappointed. Overall, the food tasted great, had a lot of flavor, and was provided with a nice portion size. My order was supposed to take 50 minutes but it only took 30 which was great because I was hungry. I ordered a few items and I have enough food to last a few days. Chicken Over Rice: I got the small but it was definitely enough for 2 portions. It was ok but it wasn't what I expected. The red sauce tasted like hot sauce and the white sauce tasted like mayonnaise (not the usual flavor you would expect). You get a spoon full of salad, a nice about of chicken and a lot of rice. Goat Curry Over Rice: This was probably my favorite. The sauce was so good and had a nice spice to it. There was enough sauce and meat for the amount of rice you get which was perfect. Great portion for the price. Chana Masala: Since this is chickpeas and sauce, this is a great vegetarian dish. The sauce was a bit spicy but had a great flavor. Vegetable Biryani: For $6 you get a lot of rice. I love the flavor by itself and it went great with the chana masala. Chicken Salad: So much chicken and very little lettuce. The chicken was really good though. There's also cucumbers and red onions in it. It was a great addition to the meal. Overall, I was happy with my order. The food is very oily so that is something to take into consideration. Luckily, they packaged it properly and the person that delivered my food handled it well. They wrapped the chana masala in saran wrap which I'm glad they did because oil would have been everywhere. Try it out when you get a chance. If you order $40 worth of food through Grubhub you get $7 off.

This is my first review ever! I came from Philadelphia to this city for the first time. I was extremely hungry & based on the reviews i went there. Absolutely the worst experience & food poisoning of my life. Order a Goat karhahi and lamb chops along with Channas which were ready (microwaved) in 8 minutes total. That was really unusual as a fresh Goat karhahi takes an hour to make & lamb chops take atleast 30-45 minutes. The goat karhahi was so disgusting & the lamb chops were so dry they were not edible. When i told the cashier/cook about the lambchops he became really defensive & said "how can it be dry when we made them last night!" I dont know how this place has 4 something rating when it's the most disgusting restaurant i have ever been in. If you still want to eat there despite my warning, have at it but don't complain later about food poisoning or digusting feeling in your stomach after. Very pricey for such disgusting food. I don't care if i sound like a Karen but this restaurant needs to shut down asap!!!!

Huge amount of Chicken curry and fried rice only $5.50

This is a preliminary review -- I can't wait to try this place again! In an effort to discover more businesses on the East Side of Buffalo, I stopped by yesterday. Appletree is an international convenience/grocery store with Pakistani and Arabic food available. Generally, they have: chicken curry, goat/lamb dishes, fried rice, chicken wings and even halal pizza. This is all at the counter, already pre-made, waiting to be served in chafing dishes. Prices are super reasonable. $5.50 with tax for a generous portion of chicken curry with Arabic fired rice. There is one table so if you want to eat inside the convenience / grocery store, you can. When I came in, the table wasn't clean but the owner came out from behind the counter and wiped it down without me asking. The chicken curry was delicious, although I'm generally not a huge fan of chicken curry that doesn't use boneless chicken and the curry here does have bones, so watch out. The curry included peas and potatoes and had a flavorful and spicy kick. The fried rice was out of this world! It was fried Arabic style with a mix of spices that gave it a delicious edge and a bit of heat. If you're looking for a drink, I highly recommend heading to the fridge area and picking up the "wellmade" mango drink. It's delicious and you can taste the nectar of the mango. The drink is imported from Turkey and it was so refreshing. This is a cool market / restaurant that I'm looking forward to returning to. They also sell various chocolates from Italy (hello, for Valentine's Day?), and a wide variety of ethnic products. The East Side of Buffalo is full of hidden gems -- I'm reminded of a variety of NYC businesses when I come here. If only it was open 24/7 like many similar-places in NYC, I could see myself coming here for a late night Pakistani craving. If you're looking for take out, come support this place and check out their Pakistani offerings. I'd be curious to hear other yelpers thoughts on the food.

Hands-down the best place to go for Nihari (beef stew) and tandoori Naan !! We were craving traditional Pakistani breakfast, had halwa, puri and Chana curry and Nihari. This place hit the spot!! The Portions were good and prices were reasonable. Not an extensive menu but whatever is available is usually cooked fresh daily, so once it's gone, it's gone. Our children enjoy the kids meal and the fish fry. The owner and staff very friendly. Definitely coming back!!!

Aachari chicken: Delicious! $7 for a small without white rice

Pretty good food, and for a very reasonable price. The samosas were mediocre, and the pakora was a little pricey at $8 for a bag, but the chicken biryani was pretty good and reasonable priced, and the aachari chicken was the best!!

Food is still amazing, and we love the remodel of the inside. They went from restaurant/grocery store to just restaurant. You can order from the prepared food or get special, ready to make food. Nice spice to the food and the meat tasted amazing. Still love this place.

Chicken leg quarter with veg rice- delicious.

This is one of the handful restaurants in Buffalo area which sells REAL INDIAN FOOD. Been there many times and we love it thoroughly. Quality of the foods, very reasonable price and the homely behavior make this place among the top three Indian restaurants in Buffalo (according to us). Curry lamb/chicken, paratha, halwa, chole puri, achari chicken our personal favorite. Keep it up with your good work.

OMG MY FELLOW YELPERS!!!! THREE WORDS........ GO! NOW! DELICIOUS! I decided to go here after looking for something different and I am sooooooooo glad I did! The food.... every bite....OUTSTANDING! Seriously. I am not Middle Eastern but after tasting this, I wish I was at least adopted by a family as kind as the staff here AND cook these dishes. I suppose just eating here religiously will have to do. I couldn't just choose one dish so I ordered 3! The Lamb Curry w/rice, Lamb Chops w/ rice and the Chicken Biryani. I can't wait to try everything on the menu. May just be one of my favorite places of all time! Yes, yes it is. Please do not drive by without stopping in! Will be one of your biggest mistakes.

Garlic Naan Goat Curry Over Rice Butter Chicken

I ordered takeout from here this past weekend and I am so glad to have tried this place! It is on the East Side of Buffalo and my friend and I ordered their curry combo that comes with 4 naan, 2 curries, and a big box of rice. It took about 10-15 minutes to get our food. We upgraded the naan to garlic naan and weren't even charged extra! The naan was a little too "garlicky" but the curries were fantastic as was the rice. I also ordered two chicken samosas, they were okay, a little stale. We were able to eat all this food for almost 3 meals within two days. I wasn't able to get a good photo of the takeout but I did take a photo of the little plate I made of the food the first night. Great prices! Check it out.

The falafel is gluten free and delicious. The Chana masala and naan (not gf) were also very flavorful.

Another trip to the West Side Bizarre and another delicious meal consumed. This week it was M Asian…read moreHalal Foods that filled my stomach for dinner and they did a pretty darn good job at it. This was my first time having Pakistani since moving to Buffalo but knowing where this place was located was almost a guarantee that is was going to be fantastic. The menu features a lot of unique items that I absolutely need to try in the future (most notably the goat curry) but the chicken biryani is what drew me in on this day. The gentleman working the counter was friendly and and quick to deliver the food when It was done (nice and hot too!). The rice served with this dish would of been enough alone to satisfy me but the chicken that was underneath it gets 2 thumbs up! I can't put my finger on what exactly the flavouring was but it was absolutely delicious in every way. M Asian Halal Foods is another fantastic addition to the West Side Bizarre. If you are hungry and wanting to get something new, give these guys a shot, you will not be disappointed!

So they're talking about having a black guy play James Bond. Idris Elba, I believe, was the front…read morerunner. So my question is... When are they going to make M Asian? The owners of this little stand, apparently, were wondering the same thing. And considering that one of the other amazing places inside the West Side Bazaar is "007 Asian Food", I think they're trying to tell us something. What to get: Chicken Karahi, or Egg Curry. What not to get: garrotted by one of Q's gadgets. Absolutely spectacular Indian food hidden away in the wonderful West Side Bazaar. One of the newer stands this place specializes in the egg Curry and especially the car. Chicken Karahi is a Pakistani specialty which is absolutely delicious. These guys know how to make it. Every bite is absolutely wonderful. Prices under $10 in the portion will fill you up. It's nice and oily just the way I like it. Indian food is a little like Chinese and Mexican food in that (a) there are a massive number of varieties, many of which are nothing like each other, and (b) the majority of people in the US don't know or understand the cuisine whatsoever. What most Americans think is Indian, Chinese or Mexican food is absolutely not. It's probably bland, overly-sugary gentrified crap that was literally invented to sell to Americans, which the majority of people from the culture or country in question, would never go near. Such as the dish "Butter Chicken" which is about as authentic as a Taco Bell taco. And as bland, sugary, and spiceless, too. Yay Murica. What you need to do when you go for Indian or Pakistani food - if you've chosen well and picked a place that has some real Indian food, like this stand does - is to pick dishes that are actually authentic. In this case, the Egg Curry and the Chicken Karahi are both delicious, full of flavour and spice, and must-try dishes. The samosa is also excellent. If you haven't been to the West Side Bazaar, you haven't really experienced Buffalo Cuisine. We have some of the most delicious treats hidden around the region and this place is one of the very best. While you're in here, get a fruit smoothie (no milk, ask for real fruit) from Gourmet Lao, as well as the sticky rice from 007 and the Garlic Chicken soup from the Burmese place across from M Asian. Now I'm going to write to the Broccoli family (and the late Ian Fleming) and Daniel Craig (and Sean Connery) and ask when the hell they are going to make M Asian. Speaking of which, I'll take the rapists for 400. And I want Swords for 600. That's not what your mother said last night Trebek.
