Since then, I have always received a great hair cut (from Susan or the other people who work there), but there is a more. I have three daughters, and they all demand Susan. When my wife tried to save money by taking a daughter to another shop, I ended up bringing her to Susan to fix her hair. People complimented my daughter on her hair after the fix. If you get a bad haircut elsewhere, go to Cuttin' Up to get a hair rescue! I have also observed other things in the 20+ years of going there. While sitting and waiting for my appointment, I have never seen anyone leave with bad hair. Great hair makes women noticeable! Want color? They do such a wonderful job that even a man like me notices. I have since moved to Houston, and have yet to find a good place for a haircut. My oldest two daughters are in college and plan haircuts around travel through Slidell. Appointments are suggested, not always necessary. Remember to tip the hair washer!

If they don't like to take credit cards because of the charge they have to pay, add a fee to credit card users. Don't treat them disrespectfully. Before I picked my color I told the owner that I wanted the same color she had on her nails. She said ok. When she finished the first coat, I noticed the color was not the same. I told her about it and she said "Oh, mine is gel or acrylic, (can't remember). She knew I always get Dip. The color wasn't anywhere near the color i specifically said I wanted. She knew before touching my nails that the color I wanted wasn't available in Dip. Instead she picks out a color that wasn't even close to the color I wanted. Dip is more expensive. So instead of giving me what I wanted, she didn't want to loose money. Well, she lost a good customer. She's the owner. I will never go back.

The issue with this location and I've also found at others is they claim you don't need an appointment, but if you don't check in online, you'll likely be waiting at least an hour or two. Even checking in online a lot of times it'll be a few hours before you can arrive. While this isn't always an issue, if you're trying to get in and out for a specific time, it makes it fairly difficult to time it right. The system will also take you out of their online check-in so if you don't arrive within 15 or 20 minutes of the "estimated time" the staff has no way to add you back in so you're stuck waiting another few hours again. The haircut and overall experience is great, but the experience of actually trying to get in to get your haircut is terrible.
