I decided to get a pedicure on my lunch break bc I have some other things to do after work. They are literally less than a minute from my workplace. I was able to get right in a chair and started getting worked on. They showed me the pedicure menu and I chose the Herbal something...my thoughts were They used actual herbs, but it's some kinda product. Guess I'm spoiled from my regular spot. The lady, Kim, who did the service was excellent. She must be an artist because her moves were as if she was painting on a canvas and I'm not talking about applying the polish, I'm talking about removing the polish, clipping the nails and whatever else she had to do. She was very attentive and very particular. The salon was very clean and there more than enough workers. There is no TV on, just a bunch of Ads showcasing on the TV. I looked all over the area and found LA Nails. For local nail salons they had the most reviews and the most stars. I called on the way and he was able to get me in. My nails had grown out and no longer needed tips. They removed the tips, shortened my nails a little bit and gave me the perfect almond shape. One of their regular customer sat next to me and we started chatting. She wanted a simple light pink color, they didn't have the color so they were able to make it for her by combining 2 colors. I had to wait for about an hour because only Thang could do the ombré that I wanted, but I wouldn't have had to wait if I had scheduled an appointment, so when you go, I recommend calling ahead. Once I got in the chair, it only took about 45 minutes for the service to be completed. It was about $65 (with the fake tips put on my nails) not including the tip but worth it for the good service. I've been here a few times before for a pedicure and was pleased. This time I went for a dip powder manicure after having my first set somewhere else. The nail job from the other place was done poorly and it was not holding up well. Kim did my nails and did an excellent job. Everyone was nice and professional and clean. I had to wash my hands several times during the process which is NOT what happened at the other place. Sometimes a nice, new salon is not the best salon. I'll go back here again and again. Tang's wife is very rude instead of helping me find the polish on my toes she handed me a bucket of colored nails when I already told her it was a new color they put on my toes last week wasn't in the bucket. she said well that isn't helpful in a rude tone of voice instead of helping me color match it. She asks if I can come back @ 2pm & I stated no because I have a newborn so I couldn't be away that long, not to mention I drove 30 minutes to get there in the first place. Plus, what is the point of making an appointment if the business won't honor it. ALSO, they had my cell number so if something changed they could have called. She then tells me I can just get a pedicure but I can't get my nails done because she has someone else coming & would have to stop doing mine when they came because of their appointment?! What?! How is it that my appointment means less than someone else's? Apparently I wasn't the right "type" of customer for them. That was clear from looking @ the only type of clients that were there. I found this place on yelp because I was looking for a spot closer to my job and just wanted to try a new place. I usually get dip with tips due to being a nail biter. I didn't like how mine were removed because I'm use to it being soaked with the cotton and the foil instead the drill but still got the sane results. Best Pedicure hands down in the New Orleans area. I live in the city and come here twice a month. Quality work, friendly polite staff, great selection of services, best prices around. As for Kim she is a miracle worker. I serve tables and bartend 60 hours a week and get bad in grows. She has been the best manicurist I've had since I moved to the South. Gentle and see saves me a visit to the doctor. My feet feel like new every time I leave. Spoil yourself with a Icedancer of Firewalker package, you feet and legs will be super soft after. I always throw in a hot stone message for the extra $7. Manicures are great too. I'm not a fan of their set work. (I like coffin shape and crazy nail art) which they don't do well. I came in at 5:30 pm on a Monday and they weren't super busy. I was able to get my mani started right away.
