If you're looking for hybrid gel nails this isn't the place even though they say they do them. Only 2 people in the shop claim to know how to do them so you have to wait for them to be free. I had mine done on a Thursday and Monday one just popped off. Went back and had it fixed on Wednesday and they did do it for free. And now it's Sunday and another one has popped off. I've been wearing hybrid gel nails for many years and never had that problem but my regular girl couldn't fit me in at my regular shop. read more

This is a great nail salon. I've been to many in Slidell and Picayune. This one is definitely a top salon! It's ultra clean! They play relaxing music and have the best pedicure chairs. Henry, the nail tech did an amazing job. He listened to my request for the length of my nails. He was meticulous.. not a single cut on my hands or feet. I am always nervous about that ! I was seated pretty quickly. Went in for a Pedi and the lady did a good job cutting my nails and excess dead skin off. I would have preferred a deeper clean into the sides of my nail beds and under toe nails. I got a 10 minute massage and while it felt good at first the motions were so repetitive and more like just rubbing my legs up and down that it cause a burning sensation & I just wanted it to be over. I love a good hot paraffin wax and I was very disappointed in this one. There was hardly any wax in the bag and it didn't even cover my entire foot all the way. I opted for regular polish and despite my effort of not touching anything 2 of my toes on one foot were chipped within the hour of leaving. The massage chair was great. The inside of the building was very nice, clean & relaxing. While I would return to this place for a basic pedi I don't think I will simply due to the lack of wax they use in their paraffin wax service. read more

Good service is lacking. It is not proper to talk in front of a person consistently in a foreign language especially when you can speak English. It is the same as whispering in front of someone. Manicure looks as though I am ready for a fill. When my manicure was over she just got up and walked away. No thank you or anything. I will not be back and I feel compelled to tell others. The place is clean and lots of chairs and technicians. After soaking with foil, my nail tech, maybe named Vanessa,however, wanted to peel off my gel polish with her nails instead of using a tool. I stopped her; I said I could do that at home! She disagreed w me all the way . Also she wanted to use the electric sander to smooth my nails...this is why I use gel, because I don't want my nailed thinned with that sander. . The MV deluxe pedicure is amazing, they really take their time with massage and it feeing wonderful. My toes still look great 3 wks later. The powder nails look beautiful and give a great protection to your nails and functionality. I got my nails done on Saturday it broke that same day. Had to wait until Monday to get it fixed and they charged my 7$. I use to live in Slidell but recently moved to Baton Rouge. When I lived in Slidell I was a regular customer for years at this salon. However when I come back to visit family I do take the time to stop at this salon and get my nails done. I have never had any complaints until now. Thursday I came in (4 days ago) to get a dip manicure. The girl rushed through them and put a very thin layer of dip on my nails. The very next day my nail cracked and the dip broke off of one nail. So I drove back to Slidell to get my nail fixed. Here we are 4 days since my manicure and 4 nails have cracked and broke off. I have never had this problem before. My nails always last me 2-4 weeks. I called and the nail tech told me there's nothing he can do. Needles to say I will not be back. A Total waste of money. read more

I love the salon & the experience that the salon provided me. They serve drinks, & wine. They are very friendly people & even offer 5% off if you pay with cash. However, after a week of having my nails done my gel polish on my nails started to come off & turn a brownish color (I do not smoke or do anything out of the ordinary with my hands, lol). They literally do what they want. Showed a basic picture of medium length square nails the lady shapes them coffin to her own will. When I tell her the shape isn't right she gets upset and the man (I assume is manager) comes over filing my nails aggressively like he's sanding a wall, cutting my finger. Because the nail shape was wrong from the beginning the French design couldn't be done. So I decided to just go without paint and let another salon paint my nails. Get to check out they charge $45 for a basic full acrylic set NO POLISH on top of $51 for a half ass pedicure. So I asked how much was a full set the lady says $45 because of gel, I said I have no polish on my fingers. Again she calls the manager. He comes over making excuses saying its $30 for full set but you got long nail that why she charge you $40. I told him she told me $45 dollars though and mentioned gel polish that wasn't on my nails. He starts stumbling over his words repeating that I have long nails. Then had the nerve to be upset I was displeased with their mediocre work. I tried to give them a second chance after one bad experience and yet again another. Never again. read more

Went here because my sister and I are on a mission to find the Slidell nail place we like best. Overall, we were really happy with everything and are going to be back. We got the milk and honey pedicure ($30) and it was totally worth the extra $6 over the regular pedicure. They didn't skimp on the massage at all and everything felt amazing. Pedicure was good, service was good. They engaged in a little bit of conversation but weren't pushy with it. We're pretty quiet people, so I like when people can read a customers's personality and adapt the amount of small talk. Excited to try them again in the future. read more

But ma'am no ma'am it came out horribly and the lady even laughed at me a bit when it was finished. This is not a review to shred this business. I actually had a very good experience while I was there. I'm not disgruntled at all. The service was great and the lady did wonderful work on my nails. This is just cautionary as this establishment does not use an autoclave to disinfect instruments used, which can put clients at risk for blood borne diseases. I know this because they cut my toe with cuticle scissors (no big deal it has happened before) and woke up to it red and painful. I was concerned about having an infection and messaged them asking how they disinfect (to determine if I should see a doctor) and they told me they do not have an autoclave. They were very polite, excellent customer service and quick responses...explained that they do sterilize, which is good, but please note that sterilizing tools is not the same as disinfecting tools. The autoclave is medical grade disinfectant. Like I said, the experience itself wasn't bad, but if I had known they didn't use an autoclave to disinfect their tools I would not have gone. I should have asked and I made an assumption, my mistake. I'm not saying they don't do beautiful nail work, I'm saying they do not have the highest standard of cleanliness and that concerns me. Update: I went to the doctor was put on a 10 day course of bactrim antibiotics with bactroban antibiotic ointment and was instructed to soak my feet in a betadine solution 3x daily. read more

Customer service is horrible!!!!!! I ask for a specific design and was told they would try. I showed a picture of the design and the attempt of it was not what I wanted. Each nail was different and the lines were uneven. When I asked for my nails to just be painted a solid color, I was told I would be charged an additional fee on top of the nail design fee that didn't look like the picture I showed. I paid the money because I'm in a wedding and press for time. I'll never returned to MV Nails again and make sure anyone I know here's about this. Don't go there for ombré nails! All I needed was a refill and instead of telling me they didn't have a right color pink and white to match my original set, they messed up my set completely.
