Bailey took the time to really understand what we both wanted, was very patient as we described the styles we liked (how does one correctly describe that?), and found examples on her mobile device to help us get on the same page. She has extensive experience as a stylist in different cities, worked in fashion shows and the like, and apprenticed under several high-profile professionals including those who trained under celebrity hairstylist Oribe Canales. Kudos also to the salon itself and to Chelsea who checked us in at the front desk. She was great too - warm, friendly, and welcoming. The salon is a very professional, well-run place - clean, bright, upscale, modern, and upbeat. A happy place! My mom and I felt very pampered from the minute we walked through the door. Honestly I thought we were there to just get a haircut, but it turned out to be an experience of its own. Needless to say, I highly recommend the Velvet Edge Salon. So glad I found it. She told me that Jolie was with a client and would be with me shortly. The client left about 3pm. I continued wait for 25 more minutes. The young lady at the counter went to check and said she would be right with me. Another 10 to 15 min went by and I asked the young lady behind the counter what time they closed and she said 4pm. I said I probably need to reschedule then. I asked her if I could get my money back for the deposit. At that point what I can only imagine is Jolie came from behind the wall and very meanly said what is the problem. She said if don't want to wait let her go. I responded if she didn't have time for me she could have called or at least could have let me know when I was waiting. Jolie started screaming at me that she had back to back clients and that she was a 30 year professional. And other stuff I can't remember. Then I said since I am being treated so rudely I wanted my money back now. To which the young lady behind explained it wasn't possible because system I used to pay with. She knows her stuff and won't just tell you what you want to hear. Her reputation is everything. I'd rather her tell me she won't do a process like in my case a perm because it would've fried my already over processed hair than do it to make me happy but then have my hair break off. It isn't a chain so the company is able to recruit and retain high quality, talented stylists who are dedicated to their craft and continually strive to better themselves. The lady who cuts my hair and does the best brow wax I've ever had, has been there since I started going to Hotshots 5 or 6 years ago. My husband gets his hair cut by another lady who has been there just as long. Hotshots is truly a salon for the whole family - kids included. To top it off, they recently added a Pac-Man game - on the off chance one might have to wait a few minutes. Hotshots does accept walk-ins but it's always good a call ahead. Saturdays or before major holidays, they can get super busy. I have no reservations in recommending Hotshots for anyone!

I was shocked to find that they were empty on Valentine's Day! I was welcomed in and immediately began being serviced. They offer beverages like soda, water, wine, and mimosas. I went with the classic pedicure and enjoyed the service. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing, where I usually find nail salons to be a bit overstimulating. 10/10, would definitely return!
