I found myself looking for a new place to get my hair braided. Friends recommended several people and places, but I settled on Mr. Naturalz. It was local and I'd walked by it many times, but didn't realize they also offered braiding service. What I liked is that their prices were listed up front and stated what was included. I loved that the price included a wash/dry as a lot braiders I contacted did not not offer this. The shop has a low key, friendly vibe. Very clean, great artwork. Everyone was welcoming. My appointment was with Eka and she was amazing. On time, friendly and she got busy! My appointment was at 9:00 and I was out of there around 12:45. I was very happy with the end result and booked my next appointment before I left. I highly recommend Eka if you are looking to get your hair braided. She is quick, professional and has a really open personality which makes for great conversation. (I have not taken a pic to demonstrate the artistry, but will add one later)

After that appointment, I realized to a greater extent why I only trust Nikkie to CUT and COLOR my hair. From that appointment my short, trendy hair style was ruined and cut uneven all over my head to the point that I had to wear a hat for a week until I could get back into Nikkie to get it fixed. Nikkie took time and thoroughly cut my hair, and though it had to be cut shorter in order to even out the hair cut, I am back in business now and can style my hair again. I always look fabulous when I leave the shop and my cut, color and style is healthy and attracts the attention of others daily. I learned a hard lesson, but now I know not to let anyone else cut my hair and to wait until I can get into Nikkie no matter the circumstance or situation. You can't go wrong by scheduling an appointment with Nikkie; she really takes the time to know your hair and you as a person. She is very thorough even for the most picky of clients like me and makes sure that your hair not only looks nice but that it is healthy, healthy, healthy. Thank you Nikkie.

I've been working with the clinicians at the Permanent Hair Removal Clinic for over two years and,…read morein that time, they've provided me hundreds of hours of electrolysis treatment. It's taken a long time but I am thrilled with the results we've achieved together. I first learned about this clinic after extensive personal research, collecting recommendations and consulting with other respected electrolysis practitioners around Seattle. The office was a little further away from my home than others but choosing the most-highly-regarded professional around was my biggest deciding factor. (Not having to pay to park in a garage didn't hurt either!) The owner, Laura, was incredibly patient with me. My prior experience with electrolysis had not gone well (having received many hours of ineffective treatment at a different practitioner in Seattle, before I knew what to avoid) leaving me in a very skeptical and questioning position during my first visits. We talked at length about the differentiators between her practice and what I had previously experienced, putting me in a much more positive and relieved mindset as we got into my first treatments. I immediately recognized the difference and, after a short time, began seeing real evidence of the permanent hair removal I'd been hoping for. As time went on and we addressed hair in different areas, I was relieved to know that the team had access to a variety of electrolysis equipment and modalities to find just the right balance between treatment effectiveness and manageable discomfort. Getting insurance to cover electrolysis is a real pain, but Laura is a pro. She has been terrific at providing the timely and accurate preauthorization documentation and monthly super-bills I needed to get started, even as my insurance provider changed. Even after my provider arbitrarily began denying claims, Laura had my back with material support and additional documentation that was essential to completing my appeal. Eventually the insurance company relented and started paying out claims. I couldn't have done this without Laura's help. In addition to Laura, I've also had the opportunity to work with 3 other practitioners in the clinic over the last few years. Though each of them maintain their own unique treatment styles and methods, they all share a common commitment to treating clients with the kindness, dignity and care I'd come to expect. They're all lovely human beings and I tremendously appreciate the work they've done for me. And it doesn't hurt that having a deep bench of skilled technicians gives them the flexibility to offer appointments every day, including late nights, weekends and occasional holidays (if you have the time). Seriously, you'd have to be bonkers to go anywhere else.

Possible TMI - Almost every single one of the hairs that I need gone are on my face and neck and are coming out of layers of acne scar tissue. They ITCH even before they surface and I can't help scratching my skin open in certain spots. All those spots are finally starting to heal thanks to Christine! One of the worst patches is on my neck right at the hairline. Not only did it have very thick hairs, but it was crowded with an insane amount of hairs so fine I could barely see them but couldn't keep my hands off them. I noticed an improvement right away, and at a faster clip than with other practitioners. She is *extremely* thorough and the process is taking less treatments than I'd anticipated. Full disclosure*: She spends more time than most on each hair and really searches for the follicle, which means a slightly above average pain level. But it's really effective and **a lot** less pain in the long run (not to mention cost effective). *This could be just me since my tissue is so scarred. I also really appreciate how she can fit me into her schedule.

I had a great experience with Kayla!…read more It's my first time getting extensions. I've noticed my hair thinning recently so I wanted to try extensions. Kayla worked with me to find the best shade match with the dimensions I asked for. She and I picked out two colors from Bellami. We ordered them, and she prepared them for my install. She's personable, and listens to feedback without taking it negatively. I think above all else, she is honest about what to expect with extensions. They're expensive and quite the labor to maintain, but she was very transparent about what to expect in that regard. The only thing I feel a tad weary about is the feel of the bonds in my hair. At the moment (and maybe because they're new) they feel a bit tough to the touch. The bonds are meant to soften with time as you wash your hair, so I'm looking forward to that. It feels great to have a full head of hair again :). I'm a regular gym-goer at this point in my life, and the k-tips are flexible to my lifestyle needs. I can gym, put my hair up, go in the pool if I want, and style per usual.

My stylist was Lyric. She seemed pretty scattered from the beginning. She invited me to the chair we talked about what I was looking for she said no problem and she got to work. I was looking to cut my shoulder length hair to a pixie cut. She cut off the majority of my hair then shampoo. Everything seemed to be going good even though she was a bit distracted. Lyric was stopping to check messages on her phone as they came in. About 15min into my cut she took a phone call. She invited her friends in to come talk to her while still cutting my hair. Her friend came in and sat in the empty chair next to us and they proceeded to have a personal conversation about going out, their friends, and their partners. After chatting between themselves for about 15min Ricky asked to see Lyric in the back. When she came back she begrudgingly asked her friend to leave. During the time she was talking with her friend she was very distracted. My hair is very uneven and choppy. Very poorly blended. some areas are very short, some very thick. It was a very disappointing experience. I had just worked up the courage to chop my hair off and it just didn't go well. I have nothing bad to say about Ricky or his business. I applaud him for being observant and taking steps to make my experience better. Unfortunately it was just a bad experience and haircut.

My hair has been thinning for awhile. I've tried everything to fix the way it looks. I used Rogaine for a long time until it started burning my scalp. I've tried hair pieces. I've tried using tinted dry shampoo. I've tried microfibers you sprinkle in your hair. Nothing was really the answer, because even if I could get it looking mostly ok, I'd always have to take a shower and wash it out and then live with myself at home looking bald. So, knowing it was going to be expensive I decided to at least reach out and see what could be done. Google turned up MM Seattle with the five star rating and how could I go anyplace else? I'm so glad I found Minela! Here are some things to know: She's super cool but totally chill and easy to talk to. Do not be intimidated by how cool she looks! Her studio is clean and bright and welcoming. It's not a spa like some places and it's not a tattoo parlor, either. She is passionate about covid protocols. The large windows are open and there is an a/c vent blowing right in your face, which means she's not breathing directly on you. I was afraid it would be challenging to get there from Renton, or to find it, but it was neither. Just thinking about going on the West Seattle Bridge and navigating around that area gives me hives but it turned out to be really easy to get to. There isn't a lot of parking but once you get used to the layout, I never had trouble finding parking in the area. And, of course, there is the result! My hair has never been thick but in the last few years, it's been THIN. You can't see the dots at all, even though the overall effect is a full head of hair. I can put my hair in a ponytail or wear it down with a part. I can make a part anywhere, which is extra cool. So yes, it was expensive, but it was for me, and my only regret is not doing it earlier. If you have thinning hair but you're not completely bald, I wanted to make sure you have a picture for reference because when I was looking for examples, I only found one picture of long hair. You're welcome!!
