Came in about a week ago to get a new hair color, balayage, and haircut done. Was impressed by the quick consultation and the service to provide hair styling to the client's needs. However, it did lead to some misunderstanding on getting the right hair color. I was originally going in for a more orange-brown color but it ended up being too orange. That didn't seem to be a problem for the studio as they scheduled a second appointment for me to come in again and fix at no additional cost. I was able to get a more suitable color for me and I was able to get my hair styled and curled afterwards right in the studio. I've seen the color set in more now and it's looking pretty good, plus I've gotten quite a bit of compliments on it! Thanks to the team at La Veda and thanks for the complimentary drinks as well:) A couple of recs for future is just to spend a little more time on the initial hair consultation and hair colorbeforehand. First of all scheduling was quick and easy . Hair stylists did not look to be in a good mood the day of appointment . As he entered I could smell cigarette pretty badly. The room is pretty small and not so nicely kept when compared to other suites there. Everything looked shabbily kept in the room which I felt could be kept nicely to attract customers. I showed a picture of the haircut I needed. No words after that . I felt the cut could have been a slightly better as Gary was not in a good mood I did not want to ask or argue with for a little extra thing I needed in my haircut. Overall haircut was good but experience not relaxing as I was expecting it to be. But again nothing bad with the haircut. The people who in general manage scheduling are not in good talking terms with the hairstylist looks like I could sense lot of misinformation and miscommunication regarding pricing too. read more

The best stylist in Bellevue, and I had the best experienced. Hair colorist Jeffrey is very friendly, I contacted him through Instagram to ask a few questions about Ash blonde balayage, he was very helpful, and definitely know what he is doing. Such amazing Hair stylist. Even when my hair is done, he finding Olaplex treatment products, just to help me out. I have Asian natural hair which is black hair, and the color I wanted is very light Ash blonde. Hairstylist Jeffrey gave me a detail consultation and warn me that it may need to lighten 2 to 3x with NEw York City Foilayage technique, because I had virgin hair black, I was terrified at first, but Jeffrey was very comforting, and detailed explain throughout the consultation, and make sure used premium color product for my hair, and offer me Olaplex treatment throughout the whole process. The service it self was Amazing great. Also had mask on during the service, tool is clean , following Covid safety protocols. The price is very reasonable compared to the one in Seattle city. It pains me to have to leave a low star review for a new small business but I tried my best to be fair and reasonable - unfortunately, my experience was not good and I feel robbed. I had high hopes booking with Gary Stage, which turned out to be two partners from NYC, and they were exceptionally responsive and passionate stylists. When I booked, I prefaced online and over the phone that I had a balayage and occasionally used Overtone to color of my hair. My ask was a balayage and director's cut so if there were any issues to please let me know. I was asked to come in for free consultation and cancellation if they were not able to achieve the look, and the decision was to move forward with the process anyway for an ash gray and hints of blue/purple color. I shared several pics of generally what I was looking for on my Pinterest board: darker blue/purple, ash gray and thought it was weird that he mentioned words of pastel and lavender then blue. That said, we go into the process and I was transformed into a head of foils, the usual alien look. About 30 minutes later, they wash my hair and they show me the color and it was a light baby blue with a yellow tint. Weird, I thought. Then the next round I look again and I start noticing orange at my roots. Weird, I thought again and the rinsing continues. Before I know it, I am in the chair and they begin the cut and I am beyond confused. I was reminded that this would be a fashion forward look. We get into cutting so at this point I switch over to the other stylist. The cut and style was pretty good and relatively quick. No complaints there, except progressively this color becomes more and more bizarre during the blow dry. At this point I had both stylists blow dry my hair and I was conflicted between feeling like an octopus head or mourning the death of the green-yellow-blue cotton candy Smurf on my head. I am not usually one to explode or react quickly so I thought, hey, why not sleep on it for a couple of days and see if it works out because maybe this can be a new look for me. And nope. I lasted barely a day before I messaged them. The morning after, I woke up to the brightening of the orange in my roots and the yellow coming through some of the blue. Oh no, I thought. I was convinced that my mourning of a cotton candy Smurf dying on my head was actually reality after all so I requested a refund -- heck, I even offered a partial refund; fair and reasonable, right? At least I liked the haircut and they used product so I was willing to accommodate that at least. Instead, I was introduced to their 10-day satisfaction policy, aka no refund, and was invited back in for a consultation and correction, and after pushing a few more times, I was offered a 1-month window to come back for a correction. Nope, again. Policy was not introduced to me until I pushed for a refund and this was not disclosed on their website. Let alone, why would I need to come back multiple times if my hair is this much if a mess? I was convinced that based on these mishaps: 1) did not meet what I was asking for, 2) color ended up being a party of yellow, green, and blue, and 3) orange roots at the top, I am not able to trust this salon to work on my hair going forward and expressed this to the stylist. So this is where we ended. I did not get a refund or a partial refund, and I do not want to go back another time for the risk of another set of mistakes. Darn. Pictures attached. I would say, proceed with caution but I can't recommend coming here. Maybe you will have a different experience. After all, the haircut was not bad but the color was the worst I have experienced in my many years of coloring my hair. The happy ending to all of this? I went to my normal stylist who was able to squeeze me in last minute. Disappointed in myself for taking the chance at this place instead of just waiting for her, only to make it more complicated before a trip. Anyway, again, try this place at your own risk -- haircut was decent. read more

I have tried other salons in the areas previously and they usually cannot achieve ash color on Asian hair or they would need multiple sessions to get there. La Veda NYC Studio did a great job! I just got a balayage from Gary and had brown hair with caramel balayage that had grown out from over 6 months ago. I asked for black hair with ash gray balayage and was very happy with the results! They used blue to cancel out the orange brass color and it looks great and ashy! I went to the salon in Bellevue, WA where Gary and Stage worked their magic. Stage is a great colorist. He was very knowledgeable, helped get the brassiness out of the bleached part of my hair and did a repair job because it was getting a little brittle, which I'd noticed. He also took one look at the picture I showed him and knew my style and exactly what I wanted. My hair looks great and healthy now with my bleached part a nice golden blonde and a vibrant teal on the colored part.
