As you can see my hair was horrendous before my hair appointment yesterday & that's mainly because I refuse to let just anyone touch my hair. I recently moved to WA and was looking for a change & after some research I found Tatum & knew I had to book an appointment. Well, I'm so glad I did because I'm not disappointed AT ALL. I didn't want to let go of too much length but knew it had to go because of the dryness of it. She was really patient with me and walked me through all of the steps while cutting it. I am super excited to go lighter on my next appointment and even more stoked about not having to cut more off since she basically took off all of the dry ends! She introduced me to some hair oil that the salon sales that smells amazing & I hope to by during my next visit but for now I would like to thank TATUM for doing an amazing job & being super sweet and being genuine and awesome at her craft! I dusted off a Yelp account I didn't even know I had in order to give this review which right off the bat should tell you a lot about my experience! First things first - great COVID19 procedures in place; hand sanitizer, temperature check, socially distanced work stations. They sanitize between uses with customers in all salon chairs. The location is convenient! I'm from Lynnwood and with the location being off 405, I don't mind driving out. There is parking in the building (not sure of the price) and across the street at the strip mall (for free, but can really only be done on weekends). The vibe of the Salon, in my opinion, is perfect. I love the use of black within interior design and to see black walls, dark accents, and the overall moody-glam accents created an atmosphere that was right up my alley. Everything in the salon feels sophisticated and expensive. Hands down the most comfortable salon chairs (especially the shampooing chairs) I have ever sat in. I'm 6ft tall and plus-sized so to be able to comfortably lounge in salon chairs is a feat. I saw Tatum to fix a hair color job I had recently gotten done by another stylist (see attached images; the orange/red in the OG dye job). If I could give her 10 stars out of 5, I would. Tatum not only made me feel much better about the miscommunication that had occurred between me and the last stylist, but she made it clear she wanted me to leave as happy as possible. She was open to feedback and interested in achieving a look that not only made me feel comfortable but the best version of me. She first scheduled a consultation to see what kind of color application I would need, which made me feel like she was interested in getting to know what I wanted. Since the color I wanted to achieve was darker than where I was, she had time to do my hair right away! Tatum pays attention to the details. She covered my ears with a towel to make sure water didn't get in my ears while washing my hair. She let me know how to get rid of color that may get on my skin during the dyeing process and made sure to get the parts of my hair that got tangled in my mask. She looked at my bangs and recut them to lay properly after seeing how they looked without me even asking! Truly, she wants you to leave her chair as perfection. During the appointment, I got to talk to Tatum about how she sees hair as an art, and generally be able to exchanges ideas about art and beauty. I really enjoyed our talk and can safely say that if you're picky about hairstylists and are looking for someone with "an eye" for hair color as an art form, Tatum is the stylist for you. As a designer, I'm selective about who I use for anything beauty related and can safely say Tatum is here to say as part of my beauty arsenal. The end result is not only beautiful but makes me feel like a million dollars! (In the attached photos, it is the dark purple/red dye job.) My previous color was a present I had gotten for myself for my 30th birthday, so having it not come out correctly had been disappointing. My experience with Tatum completely blew the previous experience out of the water and has given me a lot of confidence for my current job search. Worth Every Cent! I was so happy to get an appt with Tatum. I had seen her at another salon back in June in another Salon. I found out she moved & was able to get an appt the right away. She was so flexible too. I accidentally showed up on a Thurs & she was able to adjust her schedule so I can come in 2 hours later the following day. so happy to get to sit in her chair. My hair was so long, uneven, dry and flat. I have been wearing a ponytail for the longest & kept laying on my hair when I would fall asleep. It was too long and needed some upgrading ASAP. I got a cut, trim, layer, balayage, wash, dry & style. The products they use smell so good & feel so good on the hair. My hair was finally bouncy & light. Tatum knew that a lot of my hair laid on one spot & finally thinned it out, & oh lala! It was so bouncy! Now my head doe not hurt from the heavy hair & it is so manageable & fun. I was so happy with the final results! I will be back for some fun colors next time but I highly recommend! This salon is for all genders. They have a nice location & parking is validated. Very spacious & comfy chairs. If you are getting color put in, they have a very comfortable washing station, where the lights are dimmed & door slightly closed, so you can have some peace & quiet. Washing station also has automatic reclining chairs, so if your core is not up to the challenge of lifting yourself up, no problem, the hydraulics have got your back! Very clean facility & very friendly staff! They are conveniently located upstairs from a Starbucks! My hair took up to 4 hours & Tatum was so kind to make a little trip downstairs to the Starbucks to get me the biggest ice water, oh baby, that hit the spot! She also made me feel like a superstar by taking & send me a photo of my new hair! They have a large selection of hair products, especially from Davines Products. I purchased the NOUNOU Hair Mask, OI Oil & the MOMO Potion. I really wish they sold the Shampoo though. I believe they said they didn't but OH BABY!!! They used this Grape/ Purple Shampoo that was AMAZING!!!!!! I asked & they said it is a shampoo by Unite. It smells so good & fingers crossed that they have it for sale next time I go in! I've been coming to GLAMsociety for a year now, and have always had a great experience. This review is specifically for an appointment I had with Tatum, as the stylist I normally see had gone on leave. It's always hard to switch to a new stylist, but I couldn't be happier with Tatum's work! She was willing to do whatever I wanted, but recommended a different plan of action. I ended up agreeing to do what she suggested, and came away with a great result that is more cost-effective and healthier for my hair. Got my hair done by David, was very good at taking all the information I threw at him and delivering that style back. I had balayage done to my hair about a year ago and as to be expected it left my ends knotted, split, and dry. My hair also has the tendency to be very flat so I asked him to give me layers and they all blended together very nicely. The curtain style bangs I asked for were exactly how I wanted them to look and overall I'm extremely happy with the service and customer interaction with the entire salon. Everyone is very professional while remaining a friendly and comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to laugh. I have black, dense hair and everywhere I go to get a haircut in the US I hear "you have so much hair". After years of searching for someone I could truly trust with my hair I have found the KING of hair, Brandon. Brandon comes from a LOT of experience working in Las Vegas and LA so getting him here in Bellevue is basically a privilege. I knew I was in professional hands when BEFORE my appointment I get a text from the salon from Brandon introducing himself, asking for current pictures of my hair, and for pictures of what I was looking for so that he could prepare for our appointment together. Once I arrived he spent the first 30 mins just talking to me making sure we were TRULY on the same page about what it was I wanted in regards to color as I was going from dark to light. (I also later found out Brandon doesn't book anyone after you if you are a new client so that he can dedicate as MUCH time as he needs to you because he believes clients deserve his FULL attention... that is VERY hard to come by!) We spent FIVE hours on my hair you guys. FIVE. It was a project. From lifting the color section by section to make sure no section was over lifted or under lifted to washing and going back and forth, he spent and dedicated his whole day to make sure I came out looking EXACTLY how I wanted. This was the FIRST time that I have ever gotten EXACTLY what I asked for. My wife went in for a simple blonde highlighting, as well as a trim just to cut off dead layers of hair. Unfortunately, she came back with her hair orange not blonde. The stylist did make an effort to correct it which she did a good job on the second time around. I was mostly disappointed just to hear that the stylist blamed my wife for making her (the stylist) choose the wrong dyes for the highlights... I was like how? "The stylist is the professional, she should a good working knowledge what is the best approach and wait dyes to use". I've been to about 8 different salons in the Seattle area over the past year so I can guarantee that GLAMsociety is one of the best!!! The interior design is amazing--they have music videos playing on projection screens and the hair washing stations are in a separate dimly lit room that feels like a spa. I came here to repair my 4-times-bleached 5-times-dyed hair, and Rebekah recommended a treatment that left my hair silkier than I thought possible. Also! I had a haircut session with Charles at GLAMsociety and I couldn't have been happier! To say the least, this is probably the best haircut I've ever had. The response time for GLAMsociety was super quick and I got booked for a haircut on the same day that I messaged them through Yelp. I had a tiny bit of a wait while a consult finished, but I had no problems with that. Charles was wonderful throughout the whole experience. He was a great conversationalist, took great and wonderfully personalized care with me, and let me know what he was doing throughout the cut. On the back of his card, it says "master stylist" and I couldn't agree more; it may sound a bit weird, but I felt like he was an artist (paying attention to detail, showing utmost care to what he was doing, and showing passion and patience). Y'all! Cici's magical lash extensions skills can withstand anything! For real! I'm an active person. I hike, practice yoga, resistance train, and partake in Tough Mudder races. This most recent race before I got my lashes filled; I got sweaty, muddy, soaking wet, and a little electric shock here and there with these lashes still intact! While I am new to this salon, I am not a new client for Tatum! Tatum has been doing my hair for a couple years now, and I have always absolutely loved how my hair turned out. Updates: got my color in last week by Daisy and Rebecca. Can't say enough how Impressive I was the color came out. I've never done this blonde in my life but with the history of boxed color I was afraid that It wouldn't take the color so nice. But no. The picture will prove that.
