Tia was very understanding of what I originally wanted and took the time to correct the tone. She added lowlights and a toner to neutralize the yellow and warm tones, and my hair now looks much cooler and ashier, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Since my first visit, I've also brought my fiancé in for men's haircuts, and she absolutely nails it, he always leaves looking sharp and super happy with the results. Most recently, I made a last minute decision to switch things up before a trip to Nashville and asked for something similar to a shag with layers and bangs. Hillary completely delivered. I chose to work with Chai because she has over 10 years of experience, and her own hair is absolutely beautiful! It looks so natural and healthy, which made me feel confident that she would be able to help me. About six months ago, I got a haircut from another stylist that unfortunately turned into a total chop job. I've been living with it and growing it out since then, and finally decided to come to Salon 44 to get it fixed. I was hoping Chai could blend everything out and make it look intentional again. Not only did she fix it, she gave me a gorgeous layered cut! She did an amazing job texturizing my hair. It's easily one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. It looks incredible on me and has the perfect weight and movement. She also took the time to teach me how to style it using mousse, hairspray, and a blowout with a boar bristle brush. I can wear it straight, curly, or tied back and it still looks great. Every day since that appointment, styling my hair makes me feel confident and put together. I had a great experience with Abby at Salon 44. She was super friendly. She listened to what I wanted. I was flexible with both length and style, which she offered thoughtful suggestions while making sure to value my input before making any cuts or layers. Abby was also very patient with all of my questions as I was looking for a hairstyle that would be easy to manage on my own. I've had wavy hair for years but most stylists I've seen tend to straighten it. She gave me helpful tips on how to style and embrace my natural waves and curls. It was the first time a stylist had suggested that for me. I'm excited to try it out. I'm always worried about parking when I go to a new place. Hi -- I wanted to share feedback on my recent visit. While I appreciate that my gray coverage was addressed, I'm disappointed with the overall color result. I came in to maintain my strawberry blonde with visible highlights and dimension. After the service, my hair looks like a much more uniform copper tone, and the lighter pieces I previously had feel significantly muted. This doesn't reflect what I asked for. Given this, I'm not comfortable returning for a correction and would not recommend this place. read more

This review is for stylist, Jen N :) It's been a while since I've received a balayage and cut that exceeded my expectations. I'm about a month out from a full balayage and haircut with Jen N and am in LOVE with how she cut and dyed my hair. It's growing out so perfectly and I'm excited to see her again soon. I often find that some stylist try to push a certain haircut when you're getting your hair bleached. More hair means more product used which results in more profit. But honestly Jen N was so so amazing in listening to exactly what I wanted when I asked for lots of layers but long enough to grow out and a low maintenance balayage. She was so kind and thoughtful in her service I am so excited to have found talent!!! She is new to the salon so she still has space for new clients and I almost didn't want to post this review so I could gate keep her. Definitely recommend seeing her if you need a spruce up. I've been to 44th Street Salon in Renton several times over the years with various hair stylists (who are all awesome!), but this was my first time visiting the Salon 44 location in Bellevue. The salon was located in a very upscale building, but with a welcoming atmosphere; I was greeted by the receptionist as soon as I walked in, and felt very welcomed. I had a hair cut appointment with one of their new stylists Hillary, and love my new lob hair cut! What I really appreciated was that Hillary took the time to go over what hair style I wanted, and her suggestions and explanations of what I could expect from various cuts/lengths after we went through the inspo photos I had collected from instagram. I have been with Tia since the very beginning of her just having a chair in someone else's salon. She corrected years of my dye hair from different salons that we had to go in sessions to correct and now my hair is as healthy as can be. she suggested for me to go lighter in color because my white hair was growing too fast and it was one of the best decision I ever made. I didn't want to at first because I was not a fan of blonde hair look on asians but she totally convinced me and I never stopped getting compliments ever since. She is so talented in blending the colors together and she is also good at cutting hair too. She now owns two salons and both location are great. Very clean and love the hair product line she carries. Kerastase is one of my favorite hair brand. She is always so nice and professional as well. This is my second time getting a balayage and cut with Yin and I was equally happy both times. I didn't want the brassy yellow/orange so she made it more ashy which is what I wanted without becoming completely blond or gray. 1/20/2024 Amazing experience and great service with Ivan. I got my hair done in Japan and the salon really messed up my hair. I got stripes with different colors and clearly they didn't know what they were doing. If you go to Japan, do not go to the salon in the country side. Ivan redone my hair and corrected EVERYTHING. I originally booked for 2hours session, and Ivan told me if we have an enough time to fix this mess, but after 6hours...BOOM! IVAN MADE SURE TO FIX IT. I've been going to Ken for 3-4 years now (during Covid times). He has been my Asian blonde savior. I unfortunately had most of it burn off from a previous stylist so I was bummed until I found Ken. Save your time and money. This review isn't a reflection of the stylists themselves, as they were all friendly and professional. I'd been wanting to try this salon for a while, and when I called to ask for information, they mentioned they offer free bang trims. When I booked my appointment, the stylist I saw also confirmed that bang trims were free for existing clients. A couple of months later, I went back for a bang trim, only to be told that it would now cost $25. I explained that I was told otherwise, and the receptionist told me that the stylist I originally saw would need to honor the free trim, as the policy had changed. Unfortunately, that stylist was on maternity leave, and I was told they would find someone else to take care of it and follow up with me. I never received a follow-up, so I reached out again, only to be told that the trim would still cost $25. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It's clear they're unwilling to stick to something that was promised to me or find it worth $25/15 min on their end to try to keep me as a customer. That tells me enough about them as a business and how they value customer service/satisfaction. read more

I had a great experience coming here to get my hair cut/styled by Tania! I haven't gotten my hair styled differently in ages and wanted a change so I booked a standard haircut with the salon. I met with Tania and told her directionally how I wanted my hair cut (still long but with layers for movement since it was very one dimensional at the time). Even though I didn't really have inspo photos to show here and was a bit vague with my request, I got exactly what I wanted in the end and was actually even better than I was expecting! I was a bit nervous going in to a new salon with a stylist I've never worked with before, but I will definitely be coming back here again! I've been loving my hair so much after the haircut and so glad I decided to go here. I saw Chai, a senior stylist, and I was hoping for a similar experience, especially since I had a trip coming up. Now, I deeply regret going ahead with it.
