Effing amazing!! Chelsea did her BIG one with my tresses. She is the bomb with styling Afro coils. I came in with my hair dry, and in desperate need of some TLC. She gave me a nice ole wash, conditioning, hot towel, blowout and trim. She did all of this in a hour. I left looking like the diva that I am Shout out to Dani for the fashionista pics. Hair Cuttery is also convenient for the girlies who need to receive some maintenance when their normal stylist are closed for the day or evening. Liv read more

Great service and sooo happy with my results! Will definitely be back! Excellent vibes and friendly staff

Chelsea just did my hair and it looks amazing! She listened to everything I wanted and gave me a great cut. Plus, she has an awesome spirit!

Don't go if you are a guy. I got the worst haircut of my life. It is totally unsymmetrical because she used 2 different length guards for each side of my head (I wish I was joking). I even had to scissor trim it when I got home because of how uneven everything was. read more

Do not waste your time. I've had two appointments now, made days in advance, and on arrival I learn my stylist is not even there today. The first time I was understanding, we've all been sick and had to call out before. But there was no contact with me regarding the appointment cancellation, so I've now showed up twice to learn my appointment is null. I just want to leave this review as a suggestion for improvement. You need to contact your customers as a courtesy for any changes to appointments. Just give me a phone call and save me the time of traveling to the salon, please. For a good experience I recommend Great Clips. They have an organized check in experience, send you text updates regarding your wait time and when to arrive, very smooth experience over there. read more

I absolutely love this salon the haircut is so good I get color and haircut and Bry always does a fantastic job she makes me feel so comfortable and confident with my hair transformation the salon stylists are all so professional and so nice to be around the vide of the salon is relaxing and comfortable I will definitely be back! read more

Do not waste your time or money for people that are just recently out of cosmetology school. Their prices are over the top. The quality of service is terrible what you ask for service wise is not what you receive. There is no vibe there. It's so pre-outdated dinosaur years nothing professional all they do is sit around and gossip now. Is it good to take kids in there for just like trims or little young men in elementary school or middle school I would say OK but if you want an in-depth service of highlight color or any style of haircut womanly this is not the place to go coming for somebody that has over 50 years in the beauty business and mom who owned five or six salons in Southern California, so I'm not ignorant on on knowledge to the beauty world I've done every single beauty trade show there is in the US from Orlando to IBS New York, IBS, LAs Vegas Bonner Brothers in Atlanta and the list goes on. This is definitely not a place that is professional or I would recommend... And then Dylan wonders why when she left 60 to 70% of her customers would not follow her maybe you should dress up on technique and color instead of being jack of all trades and master of none. read more

Dylan and Diego are the only people I trust with my hair in Richmond. They completely saved my color and hair health.

I went to hair Cuttery for my first time ever I hadn't gotten a haircut in three years and my hair was literally so dead. I booked with dream who was amazing! She really prioritize the health of my hair. I was literally feeling like a hair model when I left! This place are really comfortable, medium for me when it comes to price and you do get a lot of focus and precision when it comes to your hair and I will definitely be coming back to hair Cuttery ! read more

Bry was welcoming and knowledgeable. She listened to what I was looking for and helped me so I could recreate the style on my own. I definitely recommend her expertise and experience!! read more

Sariyah cut my hair on September 16. She took her time and explained what she was doing and why. It was the day before i had lung cancer surgery. She gave me a wonderful pixie cut. It even looks great when i first wake up. I will definitely be back for more cuts by her. She deserves more than 5 stars. You cant go wrong with her. She listened to what i envisioned and gave me what i wanted plus more. She is the best stylist i have ever had. read more

I've been going to Meghan for 8 months. She is a quick study. She identified how I like my haircut and is consistent with the execution. She is friendly, upbeat and not overbearing. She never keeps me waiting and typically takes me a little early. I recommend this establishment and her specifically. read more

Best hair cut I've ever had! Kelanah is fantastic! I'm going to have her do my cut for my wedding!! Thanks!

Diego was knowledgeable and courteous. I love my haircut! Will definitely be back to see him. Great vibe!

Needed a same day hair appointment, booked it online and was on my way in when I got a cancellation. Why have something bookable when the person isn't available? When I asked 'Bri' she scoffed and told me she didn't know.. Nasty customer service, inefficient booking system. Needless to say I wouldn't come back. read more

I was very disappointed in my experience at this salon. I booked an appointment online for 8 AM. The employee showed up 12 minutes after 8. I could not get my hair done because I had to leave for work by 9ish. Not only was she late, but took a phone call and told the client TO BE ON TIME. I had to cancel and not going back. Make sure you book 2 hours on your schedule because that's how they roll. On top of that, the manager Bri tried to get me to reschedule and not offer any discount to compensate for my time. read more

Briana just rocked my world! Very efficient, reasonably priced EXCELLENT hair cut. I have curly hair but cut off around a foot. The cut has awesome shape and Briana gave me some good tips on up keep! read more

Briana is amazing. I was skeptical about using HC for color, but Briana did a great job. She took extra care of my sensitive scalp and spent much more time than a normal client would need. I very much appreciate her diligence and compassion and I will definitely recommend her and be back again! read more

I have struggled to find a good hair dresser in the area after my hair dresser moved to California as I like my hair to be platinum blonde highlights. Josh was so amazing he listened to what I wanted and was able to achieve this level of blonde for me in the exact color I like to be (in just one appointment with him. ) I am so happy and will be coming back! read more

I'm usually hesitant about going to Hair Cutterys but my friend swears by this place. I took my chances and decided to make an appointment with Chelsea (who my friend recommended) I wanted to try something totally different for once, having had long wavy hair for so many years. After seeing my friends cute haircuts, I trusted Chelsea's talent. She was absolutely wonderful! I showed her a few photos of what I was looking for, and she offered some feedback of what would work best for my hair. I let her do her magic and it was the BEST decision I've ever made. I will definitely be returning regularly to this place. Can't beat the price either, I paid $54 started at other fancy fur carpet salons around Richmond. But for $23 for a haircut and styling, I'll take it! Thank you Chelsea for making me feel beautiful and the wonderful experience! read more

Just came in an hour before closed and was told "we are booked up" while 2 hair dressers are sitting there on their phones doing absolutely nothing. Would never recommend this place. read more

showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early, waited for 30 minutes. They then told me my stylist wouldn't be there for another half hour and they didn't offer to give me a haircut. never going back. read more

I got an appointment right away and the vibe and the staff was so nice! I have extremely long hair and needed it colored so my stylist actually was able to squeeze me in for the cut and single process color with an hydrating conditioner and I feel so much better! I would definitely go back to this place esp with Dylan! read more

I got a trim as a walk-in client on Friday, May 3rd. My stylist was young and had curly hair like mine. Unfortunately, he was extremely timid about working with my hair. No parting, separating sections of my hair. I wanted my hair shorter on the sides and top with thinning to take the weight off. I had to request the left side be cut to match the right side of my head. Still, my left side is two inches longer and much thicker. There was no thinning, which is much needed due to the thickness of my hair. All cuts made were blunts cuts on my ends. Really a shame because he was extremely nice, just extremely inexperienced. Plan to go elsewhere to have it fixed. read more

DO NOT GO HERE they do not hair about what style you want they just want you done in 15 minutes. The lady who did my boyfriends hair didn't listen to what he wanted a 1 on the sides and short on the top. She didn't do what he wanted recommended a 2 and basically clipped down half of his eyebrow. This is not acceptable. Listen to your clients and also you should know how to cut hair. Will never go here again. I also called to get a refund and they never called me back. Will be going in person read more

This is your average "clip joint" in a strip mall in Carytown. The lady who cut my hair was pleasant enough and did a fine job. My hair is fairly easy to cut. I wasn't "blown" away, but I was basically pleased with my "do", I wasn't pleased however, when I went to check out. The board listed $23 for a shampoo, cut and blow dry. They upped the price $10 for long hair, $10 for ?? Blowing time??? That blows! Frankly, people come here for the price. When I mentioned my objection, a lady pointed to a teeny tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the huge service menu. Very shady business practice... Hair Cuttery, this is why y'all have a bad rep, let your patrons know BEFORE you start clipping... won't be going back hair any time soon. read more

Mid haircut, nothing wrong with it however not a great blend into my hair. If you're looking for a place to get a quick trim that looks solid this is a good place to go. I can NOT believe I had an appointment for over 6 weeks. I showed up only to be told that the appt needed to be changed to someone else.. How rude can a person be? I showed for my appt. Had I not showed I think the stylist would have been mad that the appt was not kept. It is a problem if you can not keep your appts. Off to a stylist who wants to work! read more

You get your money's worth at this place. I guess I have pretty low expectations, but the quality of stylists are usually better than other hair cutters places. Most of the stylists at this location seems young, hip and of course with amazing hair. There are a few stylists in there 30s and 40s. I usually walk in and get the first stylists available. It's at a nice location and usually plenty of parking unless you come here on a weekend night, but even then you might get lucky. I have never been overalls adventurous with my hair, so I usually get a short professional cut with shampooing. I'm not sure which hairstylist gives the best scalp massage, jury is still out in that one. If you are ok with getting a good haircut without paying an arm and a leg, this is the spot for you. If you want a hairstyle that's upscale, maybe go somewhere else. I for one have never got a haircut here that made me go wtf! read more

This weekend I came to get a haircut from Sabreana. She was so nice and explained everything she was going to do while washing and cutting my hair. Not a great haircut, unfortunately. Just needed a buzz cut, which is generally simple but can be done in a shoddy fashion. She did not check to see that a number of stray hairs has not been cut, so it took me at least 10 minutes at home to clean up. She also did barely any trimming or edging, to clean things up. A good buzz cut normally takes at least 15 minutes, but this was over in 10. read more

Hair Cuttery - Short hair - Hair Stylists Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Great experience! I went in as a walk-in, not really knowing what kind of cut I wanted. My stylist was Yasmine, and she was really great at interpreting what I wanted out of my cut as I was babbling about "layers" and "frizziness". She's the check twice, cut once type of stylist and I really appreciated that, especially since I wasn't exactly sure how short I wanted it. I am so happy with the cut! You just can't beat a wash, cut, and blow dry for $30. Definitely going back! read more

I had a scheduled appointment for the first available. Walked in and had to wait so the first available could help the walk in in from of me.
