Do not waste your time. I've had two appointments now, made days in advance, and on arrival I learn my stylist is not even there today. The first time I was understanding, we've all been sick and had to call out before. But there was no contact with me regarding the appointment cancellation, so I've now showed up twice to learn my appointment is null. I just want to leave this review as a suggestion for improvement. You need to contact your customers as a courtesy for any changes to appointments. Just give me a phone call and save me the time of traveling to the salon, please. For a good experience I recommend Great Clips. They have an organized check in experience, send you text updates regarding your wait time and when to arrive, very smooth experience over there. read more

Do not waste your time or money for people that are just recently out of cosmetology school. Their prices are over the top. The quality of service is terrible what you ask for service wise is not what you receive. There is no vibe there. It's so pre-outdated dinosaur years nothing professional all they do is sit around and gossip now. Is it good to take kids in there for just like trims or little young men in elementary school or middle school I would say OK but if you want an in-depth service of highlight color or any style of haircut womanly this is not the place to go coming for somebody that has over 50 years in the beauty business and mom who owned five or six salons in Southern California, so I'm not ignorant on on knowledge to the beauty world I've done every single beauty trade show there is in the US from Orlando to IBS New York, IBS, LAs Vegas Bonner Brothers in Atlanta and the list goes on. This is definitely not a place that is professional or I would recommend... And then Dylan wonders why when she left 60 to 70% of her customers would not follow her maybe you should dress up on technique and color instead of being jack of all trades and master of none. read more

I was very disappointed in my experience at this salon. I booked an appointment online for 8 AM. The employee showed up 12 minutes after 8. I could not get my hair done because I had to leave for work by 9ish. Not only was she late, but took a phone call and told the client TO BE ON TIME. I had to cancel and not going back. Make sure you book 2 hours on your schedule because that's how they roll. She knew exactly what to do with my hair, is very skilled and knowledgeable about products, and her techniques are superb. She added value and professionalism to my visit. I'm usually hesitant about going to Hair Cutterys but my friend swears by this place. I took my chances and decided to make an appointment with Chelsea (who my friend recommended) I wanted to try something totally different for once, having had long wavy hair for so many years. After seeing my friends cute haircuts, I trusted Chelsea's talent. She was absolutely wonderful! I showed her a few photos of what I was looking for, and she offered some feedback of what would work best for my hair. I let her do her magic and it was the BEST decision I've ever made. I will definitely be returning regularly to this place. Can't beat the price either, I paid $54 started at other fancy fur carpet salons around Richmond. I got a trim as a walk-in client on Friday, May 3rd. My stylist was young and had curly hair like mine. Unfortunately, he was extremely timid about working with my hair. No parting, separating sections of my hair. I wanted my hair shorter on the sides and top with thinning to take the weight off. I had to request the left side be cut to match the right side of my head. Still, my left side is two inches longer and much thicker. There was no thinning, which is much needed due to the thickness of my hair. All cuts made were blunts cuts on my ends. Really a shame because he was extremely nice, just extremely inexperienced. The lady who did my boyfriends hair didn't listen to what he wanted a 1 on the sides and short on the top. She didn't do what he wanted recommended a 2 and basically clipped down half of his eyebrow. This is your average "clip joint" in a strip mall in Carytown. The lady who cut my hair was pleasant enough and did a fine job. My hair is fairly easy to cut. I wasn't "blown" away, but I was basically pleased with my "do", I wasn't pleased however, when I went to check out. The board listed $23 for a shampoo, cut and blow dry. They upped the price $10 for long hair, $10 for ?? Blowing time??? That blows! Frankly, people come here for the price. When I mentioned my objection, a lady pointed to a teeny tiny disclaimer at the bottom of the huge service menu. Very shady business practice... You get your money's worth at this place. I guess I have pretty low expectations, but the quality of stylists are usually better than other hair cutters places. Most of the stylists at this location seems young, hip and of course with amazing hair. There are a few stylists in there 30s and 40s. I usually walk in and get the first stylists available. It's at a nice location and usually plenty of parking unless you come here on a weekend night, but even then you might get lucky. I have never been overalls adventurous with my hair, so I usually get a short professional cut with shampooing. I'm not sure which hairstylist gives the best scalp massage, jury is still out in that one. If you are ok with getting a good haircut without paying an arm and a leg, this is the spot for you. If you want a hairstyle that's upscale, maybe go somewhere else. I for one have never got a haircut here that made me go wtf! read more

Not a great haircut, unfortunately. Just needed a buzz cut, which is generally simple but can be done in a shoddy fashion. She did not check to see that a number of stray hairs has not been cut, so it took me at least 10 minutes at home to clean up. She also did barely any trimming or edging, to clean things up.
