I needed a cut and wanted to try a different salon. I had read the reviews here and got an appointment. The location is easy to find and the establishment is clean. Laura was my stylist and I'm so happy I cane to this salon! I had a great experience and will return. Laura was very good and we talked about what I wanted and what she thought would look good also. Very helpful and we ended up talking a lot. I was having a tiring day so they got me coffee which was just what I needed. Lol. Details, details - get ya details! Let me tell ya'll. Serendipity Hair Studio was an EXPERIENCE. From the moment that I walked in just for a simple, affordable wash and cut, to the moment I walked out - I felt so pampered. I was first greeted and offered a beverage and decided on tea. I was so surprised when I was asked how I would like my tea, steeped for a few minutes or just have the bag in. I was intrigued and pleasantly surprised at the hospitality. During my appointment with Stephanie, I was given a scalp massage with great smelling oil, to begin with. While she was washing my hair, she took special attention in adjusting the water temperature to my liking and I was given a hot towel that felt so nice while the conditioner was left in my hair. AND THEN...I was asked if I wanted a hand massage. The massage was quick but relaxing and after a long day of desk work, this was absolutely heaven. I felt my needs and vision for my hair were listened to and Stephanie helped freshen u my hair and take some of the weight off. We also had great conversation and I really enjoyed the appointment! And as a token of appreciation, I was given a goody bag with free samples of the hair products and a 10% off coupon for next time. This place is amazing. First of all, my stylist is Jessica and she is so sweet and super talented. My hair has never looked better. She cares about me and ensures i get exactly what i want and is just truly incredible. Can't say enough about her. I truly look forward to my appointments. She goes above and beyond! Secondly, the front desk gals are so friendly and efficient and always remind me about my appointments which I truly appreciate. Last time I went, i took off my wedding ring for my hand massage while getting my hair washed and afterwards stood up and forgot I had my ring in my lap. I got home and totally freaked when I realized it was on the floor of the salon and the salon was already closed. I called first thing and of course they had already found it and we're about to call me (and other customers) to find out whose it was. I was so grateful and so relieved. Places like this aren't amazing coincidentally. I know it takes hard work. It reflects the ownership who ensures the stylists are highly skilled and front desk gals are friendly and so helpful. I went looking for a trim because I'm trying to let my hair grow. I had the best trim of my life with a wonderful shampoo. Bangs cut perfectly for the shape of my face. Styled and blown dry. This place is fantastic. The decor is warm and friendly. They welcomed me as a first-timer with my name on a board at the entrance. That was a nice touch. Included in the haircut was a scalp massage, hand massage, and dry/style. Stephanie cut my hair and did a great job! (No easy feat because I'm super picky). For several months I watched Rebekah Howard cut other people's hair while I was getting my hair styled by someone else. When my stylist decided just to run the salon and take a break from doing hair, I knew immediately who I wanted my new stylist to be. Rebekah has given me some of the best haircuts I have ever had. She is also a wiz with color. She is a consummate professional who will do exactly what you want, or is willing to offer amazing ideas if you're like me and are clueless about which cut will look good on you. She works quickly, but precisely. I don't feel like I need to block out three hours of my day for highlights and a cut. Here is the great news--She has just opened a new salon in Midlothian. It is located in the same shopping center as Capital Ale House and behind the Wendy's. If you're looking for a new hairstylist and/or new look, call her and make an appointment. Currently, she is the sole hair stylist at Serendipity, but I know that she has high standards and will only bring on other stylists who will also do great work. I have fine curly hair and have had trouble finding a lasting relationship with a hairdresser I trusted with cutting and styling my hair. I would go a few times, but then the third time was always a charm: over-styled, too much hair cut off, unsatisfactory color..you name it. I've tried the Deva curl places and I'm not a fan of this method..it works fine for coarse/thick hair but I ended up over thinned and over styled..it just weighed down my hair. I also recently decided to stop coloring my hair and needed not only a great cut for my vanity to remain intact, but a stylist that would support me in my grow-out plan and have the expertise to suggest options along the way. I drive between Midlo and Short Pump, so wanted the convenience of either area. My daughter gets her hair cut at this salon, so I made an appointment with Margaret. The salon has a lovely feel inspired by French country.. with sparkle. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'd love to see them expand on the scalp massage offering. It's a nice touch and very beneficial. I would pay for an add-on for this service. Margaret is the experienced professional I was looking for... she consulted, and above all, listened to my needs and wants. And gave me a great haircut that I love! I feel pretty and supported. Well done! I suppose I will need to check-in again after my 3rd visit sometime next Spring....but I'm leaning positive! read more

If I could give less than a one, I WOULD! First time there, I made an appointment for my granddaughter because she had friends that went to this Salon. And like this particular person, and the person had great reviews. My granddaughter couldn't keep the appointment. so when they called me ,I will come in, I need a trim for my bangs and my ends. My hair was cut with me turned away from the mirror. oh, I was very explicit repeat very explicit in what I wanted. My hair was to my bra level .I walk out of there with my hair at the nape of my neck and my collarbone horrible disastrous haircut. Cried all the way home all evening stayed up all night. It took me two years to grow my hair that long. I'm back today the owner was very apologetic, what was she going to do I couldn't glue it back on my hair she tried to fix it and I appreciate it the consultation and her efforts but what are you going to do it's all gone now. I despise short hair on myself hate it hate it hate it I was so proud of my long hair long straight pretty blond hair. It'll take it forever to grow back I'm never having my haircut ever again by anybody.:( :( if you go there ask for the owner to cut your hair or Master stylist nothing less. read more

I have very thick, long hair and am very particular about the cut/color. This was my second salon since moving to Midlothian 4 years ago and I could not be happier. I constantly get compliments on my hair. The cut is always perfect and the color always looks gorgeous. Last year I had a Brazilian blowout done and I loved it. It lasted way longer than I expected. The owner takes the education of her stylists very seriously and it shows. We're lucky to have such a top-notch salon so close! UPDATED: I recently booked a nail appointment for my mom because she was visiting. She never gets her nails done and she was RAVING about the technician! She was visiting from New Jersey and told me she wants to always have her nails done here when she comes to visit. I can't remember what she said be technician's name was (there is only one) but she said she made her feel so comfortable. I'm so happy Serendipity gave my mom this awesome experience! read more
