Wagyu beef tower
Jenny H.

Truly the best place for a birthday celebration! They aways go above and beyond to make the evening special. We ordered the following and highly recommend this combo! - 4 types of soup bases. Tomato soup base, pork bone broth, spicy beef soup base, tangy passion fruit soup base. I loved the tomato and tangy passion fruit! So flavorful. - Wagyu beef tower. Just dip for 10 seconds and you'll get it perfectly cooked. - Seafood platter. They give you quite a lot! - Dancing noodles. Always so fun! They let you select the song, so I chose Swim by BTS ;) - Mixed vegetable platter. Always a good addition. - Mushroom platter. Love this and would get it every time. - Tri-color vegetable noodles. Remember to not overcook! - Seasoning buffet. A must. So many side dishes and dessert options. Snacks too! The snacks are too good. Get your secret codes ready for more free stuff! We also got a kids meal because we have a baby.

Heard this was a popular place so decided to try it out and see for myself! Right away, as we go to the entrance, we see a cart of snacks and drinks. Gave me a good impression. Thought that was a nice gesture for those people waiting for their table. We were seated right away and there was no line for a Friday night. Once we were seated, we were given a bib/apron, hair tie, snacks, and wet naps. Thought that was a nice touch. I use the restroom and they have complimentary mouthwash and feminine products. Thought that was nice too. My friends and I ordered four meat dishes and tripe initially, just to see how much we could eat. The meats were good. The tripe was okay. The soup was good. Ordered the pork bone broth. But sadly to say, after spending $130 (before tax and tip) on just those items, we were still hungry. We decided not to order anymore food and just go somewhere else to satisfy our hunger. I left disappointed. If you want to be entertained, then yes, they had this man in a mask dancing when we arrived. They also have a noodle dancing guy. They also celebrate birthdays.

Great food and service, but be prepared for a long wait. We were seated after an hour on the waitlist. The soups (tomato and spicy pork) were delicious and served quickly, however our hotpot food items took nearly 45 minutes to be served. We were so hungry and drank a lot of soup while waiting for our food. LOL The waiter told us their kitchen was too busy, he was sorry for the long wait and offer us dessert. We also had to remind them on a missing fish fillet. The staff apologized again and offered a $5 discount. At the end of the meal, we checked the bill and found out the $5 discount was not there and they charged us for open sauce fee which we didn't order, and there was another 15 minutes wait to get our bill corrected. Total dining time was 2.5 hours + 1 hour waitlist time, record breaking for us. Never had hotpot meal taking this long.

Haidilao usually is known for good service, but the wait and eating experience was horrible Saturday dinner at this Fremont branch. Waited an hour to get seated, another hour for mushrooms to come out, then meat, another hour for fish, after endless waiting we left at 10pm. They were understaffed and service took a while. The sauce bar was underwhelming, the fruits/snacks were not too exciting. We got complimentary brown sugar mochi for the wait (which we also had to wait longer for), they were warm and delicious.

Hot Pot is always fun! And this is a lively ambiance and the service is really good. Warning: The Spicy broth has a LOT of chili oil floating on top. Make sure to stir it before serving as a member of my party took a big sip of the oil at first and it made her throat close up. The food is good yet the portions are small and the prices are very high. The bill was $200 for 4 people and we were all still bit hungry after.

I love going to Haidilao when I'm craving hot pot. It's always an experience since the ambiance here doesn't compare to other hot pot spots. I love getting their mushroom and tomato base and honestly all of their choices are delicious and tasteful. The host and servers we had were very attentive and checked in on us often.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. First time trying it. It's a good experience but very expensive. $180 for 3 ppl. It's good for special occasions.

Came here for a birthday dinner with the family and it was very enjoyable. First, the meat and broth was amazing, we got all the A5s and they were so tender, so good. Everything comes out really quick once you put in your order and service is good and fast.

Came here with my partner for a late dinner. I'm talking "an hour before they close" type of dinner at 1am. The service was still great, they still delivers and makes us our food and drinks perfectly. I did get some disgruntled looks from employees as they clean the sauces at the end but that's alright, very understandable haha. Food is great, meat is fresh and delicious. I got fermented rice and lychee drink and not sure if i would order again, took me by surprise and i didn't like the fermented rice part. And also something about this location is that they never give you the free stuff if you say the phrase to them...maybe i'll try again for the 3rd time next time ;(

The Bian-Lian performance - amazing show
Khim Y.

Pricey, and I would have given it just 4 stars if it's for the food alone and not for the Bian-Lian performance. We heard about their Bian-Lian (face-change) performance and called ahead to book a table for a time that it'll be performed (7:30-8pm). It did not disappoint. What an honor to be able to witness this amazing art, a secret tradition passed down for generations! The artist was smooth and entertaining, and even gave my parents in law a beautiful souvenir, which they appreciated very much! The food itself is wonderfully presented, and everything is fresh. The "salad bar" is very good and will fill you up by itself, with seaweed salads and pickled mushrooms and all the condiments you could think of (hello, chive pesto!) We ordered the four soup special, which was a pot quartered into four sections, each with its own flavor soup that you can select. I picked a spicy soup which I soon regretted as it made the food too spicy to even taste the dipping sauce that I worked so hard to create

WOW! This place is really cool. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The service is top-notch. It's a very family friendly place. The tomato and chicken broths were good. I can't wait to go back!

Thinking back on my delicious dinner at Ping's Bistro in Fremont, two things stand out for me: the…read moredelicious food, and the heat level. We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them were fantastic. As my friend mentioned, a little bit saucier than you'd typically find in China, but still good. And we ordered everything extra spicy. The "Premium stir-fried beef with yellow peppers (with broth, Angus beef with brisket fat)" was a great saucy start to the meal, it had a nice sour flavor to go with the mild-medium heat and was very fresh tasting. "Husband and Wife Lung Slices" was good, standard and a smidge oily, but tasty. The tendons (there are no lungs, just beef and beef tendons) were cooked nicely, with just a hint of chew but tender. Again mild-medium "Stone Pot Flavored Frog" is where things started to get really good. This was one of the best dishes of the night, and the best frog I've ever had. So tender, with a nice crispy exterior, and so much flavor. This was delicious. If you've never tried frog, this is the one to get. A nice break from the heat was "Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Greens". I was told that this was a bit leaner than what you'd expect in China, but for me the meltingly soft, rich pork belly and chewy greens made into little mantou-tacos was great. It has a nice sweet/sour flavor and zero heat. Now, by far the spiciest dish we ordered was "Double Pepper Chicken Noodles". Delicious noodles, fresh chilies, great almost crispy texture from the wok, but this was firmly in medium-hot category. Everyone started to sweat and get runny noses eating this one. But the flavor was addictive. Some notes - the parking lot is big, but you may have to walk a bit. This is because this restaurant on a Saturday night was absolutely packed. I came around 6:30 and there were 9 tables on the waitlist ahead of me. I wouldn't say it moved quickly, and the area to wait in is cramped. So best bet is to come early or go wait somewhere else. They have an online waitlist that sends a text when your table is ready, so there's no need to stick around being jostled by people entering and exiting. Service was efficient. My friend ordered (in Mandarin) so I didn't follow what was happening, but the food arrived very hot and very quickly, and they nicely pack up your leftovers themselves. Overall - fantastic. I found some new favorites, had some good versions of things I already like, and while it certainly isn't cheap it was worth it. Oddly enough they added an 18% tip automatically. Fair enough, I would normally tip 20% for dinner but if 18% works I'm not complaining. Unfortunately the location isn't convenient for me and the food would be a bit challenging for most of my friends, so I probably won't be back soon. But anyone who wants some authentic and spicy and interesting Chinese dishes would be happy coming here.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

They also respected my comment for mild spicy, and it was one of the only times I drank almost all the soup since I did not taste artificial powders or too much white pepper. The Chili Oil noodle was also ordered with mild spice, and the noodles were so chewy and perfect, I can't wait to come back here already! We just wished the chili oil noodle had more meats, since there were like only a 2 or 3 slices of beef. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled.
