I just got the lamb kebab plate for lunch and IT WAS AMAZING! Everything about it was delicious! Tender lamb, super tasty rice. Under new management and is it possible that the food is better?

Have ordered falafel sandwich and plate. Eating in. Food was scrumptious, salad soft and tasty, and more. Atmosphere casual, clean. Some nice grocery items, date juice too.

I cannot believe that this was my first time eating at Haddads this entire time I've lived in Poughkeepsie... The food is amazing and so cheap!! Falafel is one of my all time favorites and they do it just right at Haddad's. The falafel is very moist, tahini is made to perfection, and the pita bread is real pita not some generic store bought flour tortilla! They also offered me some free house made hot sauce which had amazing flavor (& could even stand to be spicier). The falafel sandwich price is unbeatable at $4.49--you can't get a freshly made filling meal for that price anywhere! I also tried the Lamb Kebab meal over Doordash and I was very happy with that meal as well I highly recommend getting the guava juice in the small glass bottle... perfect combination of flavors with the freh hot food. This is a great family run business and I will be recommending it to everyone. The only I wish they had is some fries to go with the Falafel Sandwich... but still worth it 100%

All of their food options are amazing- pick any one and you will be thoroughly impressed. Opt for the platters over the sandwich to get a wide variety of sides. The owner is extremely nice and there are also many middle eastern groceries you can get here too. Almost certainly the best spot in Poughkeepsie.

The chicken in the chicken shwarma dish was under cooked and not fresh. Felt very ill for several days after I tried it.

I found this place while casually browsing on Yelp and the food is amazing. We tried their spicy hummus with pita. Spicy hummus is too good. And the pita was so soft and fresh. I was looking at the menu on my way there, and earlier while driving down the street, I noticed people sitting outside. That's when I realized it was open. I was actually walking somewhere else and happened to pass by. I thought, you know what, let me just try it and see what they have. What surprised me was learning it had already been open for five weeks at the time. From the outside, it doesn't do the place justice. It looks cutesy, almost like a pizzeria vibe, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The moment I walked in, the ambience changed everything. Saba is truly an experience--a culinary experience. The designer did an amazing job: spacious seating, plenty of light, greenery touches along the top and borders, and warm colors accented with gold. It feels welcoming and elegant without being over the top. The layout allows for both a casual sit-up space to look outside and a more traditional restaurant setting. Honestly, the interior sets the tone before you even eat. Customer service was absolutely amazing! (It gets better with each visit. Major plus. Some of the best customer service I experienced in the area) I was greeted right away, and the staff went a step further by showing me pictures of menu items. I asked about chicken, and they explained the options and how I could customize them. Those personal touches matter, especially for a newer business--you never know who's walking in, and they made me feel like a valued guest. I ordered the chicken pita. The sauce had a little spice to it, which gave it a nice kick without being overpowering. Everything tasted fresh, which is a huge plus. I also tried the tahini and saba sauces, though they weren't my favorite--I'd probably go with hummus next time. Still, I appreciated the variety. The delivery of the food was excellent as well. I dined in, and I'd definitely recommend sitting inside or outside. Both have ample seating, and they serve you with real, heavy gold utensils, which really adds to the overall experience. It's giving! - especially at a $14 price point for my meal. The experience was uplifting. Whether you're having a good day, bad day, or just an average one, being there feels special. The staff even checked in after I started eating, which I appreciated. Before leaving, I ordered the falafel to go. They came as small bite-sized pieces--slightly oily but still flavorful. I also tried the cookie, and that was truly memorable. It felt like a warm hug from a family member, with that nostalgic taste that takes you back to a comforting place. Overall, I would give Saba a 10 out of 10. It was far more than I expected when I first walked in looking for a simple bite to eat. From the ambience and customer service to the food and little details, it was a full experience. I've been back a few times since and highly recommend it--whether you're a local, visiting, or just passing through Poughkeepsie. It's near Vassar College about 10 mins drive from the walkway over the Hudson and Poughkeepsie train station, and you won't be disappointed.

The two times I've been in, they've brought out samples of thier menu items to try. I want to expand and try more things, like the chicken and beef kafta. If you have questions just ask. Certain platters come with different items. Some rice, some salad, etc. Thier pita is fresh and delicious, and comes in different sizes. They have a decent sized dining area for dine-in, and the take-out area is right as you walk in the side door. Here you will also find a grocery area with Lebanese essentials. The selection is sizable, and offers items you won't find in a regular grocery store. I stocked up on spices, and coffee. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. I will return every opportunity I get.

It is intentional. The food, the market, the people, the energy of the place all make it worth the trip every single time. The flavors here are deeply rooted in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and you can taste that authenticity in every bite. The hummus is silky and perfectly balanced with tahini and lemon. The baba ganoush carries real smoky depth. The chicken kebabs are juicy and seasoned all the way through. The shawarma is warm, aromatic, and layered with spice. The falafel is crisp outside, vibrant and herbaceous inside. My personal favorite is the Iraqi Chicken Sandwich. It is absolutely phenomenal. The chicken is tender, boldly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Every bite is balanced and satisfying. It is the kind of sandwich that stays on your mind long after you leave. Everything is halal and incredibly fresh. The place is always busy, which tells you everything. The food turns over quickly. The products in the market turn over quickly. There are always people picking up takeout and others shopping the shelves. And the market itself is a treasure. Authentic meats, cheeses, sausages, dairy products, dry goods, teas, dried beans, spices, specialty ingredients and more, all reflecting the flavors of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. These are items you simply will not find in conventional grocery stores. If you love to cook, you will walk out inspired. If you have never been before, do not be intimidated. Walk in. The staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. There is space to sit and enjoy your meal, and they do a huge takeout business as well.
