If you are looking for the perfect home style wings place in Joplin, this is the spot. Back then I was all about Buffalo Wild Wings because who can resist those daily deals? After being introduced to Hackett I never want to go back to BWW unless I really have to. Hackett recently expanded their building to a middle dining section and also a full bar area for late nighters. I would say the wait time for the wings are about 15-20 minutes, but it is worth it! The wings are smaller than what you would see at franchise restaurants but you can definitely tell it's a family owned business made with a secret recipe! They offer a variety of sauce and dry rub. I usually go for their Honey or Hot & Honey because....sauce! My hubby goes for their Jerk dry rub every time. You definitely want to try out their Fried Green Beans for appetizers as well! read more

This is a must try if you live in Joplin or are just visiting. Hackett's Hot Wings have some of the best southern food anywhere. I love the cozy, warm and friendly atmosphere Floyd and Jackie have created. It brings a flair of the south to the midwest. The wings here are the best I have ever had, and there really isn't a close second. They are served fresh and warm, juicy and crispy. With many different sauces to choose from, there is something for everyone. They have sweet flavors; such as, Honey and Honey BBQ. They have spicy flavors anywhere from a little kick (Hot and Honey and Mild), to burn your face off (Smokin' Hot and Suicide). The great thing is all flavors have a great flavor. Nothing they make is, "burn for the sake of burn." My favorite is the "Hot and Honey." The most interesting thing about the wings is the Memphis style dry rubs. They have several flavors to choose from and are all great. My favorite is the "Greek." If you have never tried wings with a rub seasoning you are in for a treat. I am also recommend the Pork Chop Sandwich! It is an inch thick, juicy pork chop, seasoned as only Floyd Hackett can do. It is served on texas toast with lettuces and tomato. I also recommend getting it with a side of Hot and Honey sauce for dipping. Again, this is a must for everyone! If you go in tell Jackie and Floyd I said Hey! read more

While the other people at my table had very choice things to say about our dinner here, I very much enjoyed it. We were not even planning on coming here, and I think my fiances grandmother thought this was Buffalo Wild Wings when we started talking about it, but when we pulled in all comparisons were laid to rest. Instead of being bombarded by crazy jersey wearing men with beer breath (and farts), we were greeted with gas lanterns, exposed brick, and quiet seating. The menu is very simple (think Chicken), the options are easy to understand, and the prices seem very reasonable. We each got something different, and after ordering we went down and found a booth next to the windows to enjoy some conversation. A short (for me at least) while later they started bringing the food out to our table. At this point we noticed that there were roughly 20 people in line waiting for take out, to order, etc. We had no idea that this place was so popular until we dug in. The wings are AMAZING. They are perfectly seared on the outside and cooked just right, sauced with just the right amount, and are served up with your choice of veggies and ranch/bleu to dip. After cramming 10 of the biggest wings I've ever had in, I seriously could not eat anymore... I was in absolute wing heaven and will have to find a way to ship some of that Sweet/Hot Sauce back to Minnesota! Next time we are in Joplin we are absolutely coming back here! read more

This is my favorite place for wings. I'm totally in love with the seasoned wings. Now, I love hot wings, and these are not hot at all. But they are freaking delicious. When I have to have some spice, I get the Beer flavored sauce. It's good too. If you like sweet tea...and like it really sweet, then this is your place. I have to get it cut with some unsweetend tea because I don't want to become diabetic while I'm still in my 30's. read more

As a customer going back to when the Hacketts began in the small building on Broadway, it's so neat to see this hard-working family be rewarded for their product and service with an expanding business and widespread acclaim. Have to say, once I tried the seasoned rub, I quit sampling the others read more

Went in to eat the food but mainly watch the Cowboys game. Main objective was to sit near a tv and get some beers in us. The waitress was snooty and kept smarting off to my group of friends because the need for a tv meant she didnt get our business. She left a super bad taste in our mouth and then we had to bear some older man cuss repeatedly because the girls were working and he had no access to refill the ice. He kept saying GD and F this and that. I had my son with us. We will never go back. read more

We stop at this spot at least three times a year. Always amazing food, service is the best and my entire college basketball team loves it.

These wings are so good! Fried green beans are amazing, too. Malachi was our waiter, and he was so nice and attentive. read more

I moved from Dallas to Joplin, MO for a few years and hacketts still remains #1 on my list for wing places! The Caribbean jerk is my All time favorite!! From wings from Kansas City, to all over north Texas. My hear was broken having to move back to Dallas because these were the best wings ever in life! I really wish they would expand! PLEASE COME TO DALLAS read more

Been coming here for a while and the food is excellenr, however the last few times we have came they have advertised that they are open and then we get to the place and it is closed with no details read more

The hot wings are HOT! We ordered a BBQ and a Mild batch. The Mild had my husband and I both craving Milk to kill the burn in our mouths. Since when is Mild actually HOT? Not a fan of that! Their fried appetizers such as fries and corn fritters are so yummy! You can also order an array of beers too. The feel inside has a very urban feel with exposed brick walls and black ceiling. There is an upstairs too, possibly for parties? There are also a multitude of TVs for your sports entertainment. We will definitely give it another try but will be careful what we order. read more

Come here for an amazing collection of both dry rub and sauce based wings. I have had a lot of wings a lot of places, and this is one of my all-time favorites. I first stopped by here on a trip heading back to Oklahoma from St. Louis, and earlier this summer our family went back again when we were on another trip. Absolutely amazing, some of the best wings! If you can, definitely come here and enjoy the wings! read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! Best wings in the region. If you at anywhere near make a trip. The wings are crisp and meaty. My favs are hot and honey and Greek. read more

I don't give out too many fives so believe me when I tell you, this place is legit! Hot and honey wings are my favorite and I still have not had better wings anywhere. Whenever I'm in the area I drive to Joplin only for these wings. I take 50 to go every time on my way back home to Wichita (hours) or Dallas (7 hours). It is a shade pricey, but believe me it is worth it. read more

I had the opportunity to work in Joplin occasionally over a period of a few years. Of the many reasons to like the town, Hackett Hot Wings is one of the major food gems of the entire universe. I am not a huge wing guy, but these are something all together different. I really like the Greek and Cajun, but go with a huge group and try all. Even though I am not working there now, I am thinking of a reason just to once again feast on these amazing wings. Also, this is a family business worthy of support. Tell them one of his friends from Seattle sent you! read more

This place is good at best. The flavor it's great but the wings are so small it hard to truly enjoy them unless you order a huge amount which just isn't worth the money. The customer service is good In My experiences there the servers don't come around enough. Hot and honey is probably the best flavor but like I said not enough meat on those wings. read more

I absolutely love the wings here. I've been eating at Hackett before they moved to their present location. Over 10 years. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I always order wings to go. read more

One of my favorite places in Joplin and one of the best hot wing experiences in the country! The big thing that sets them apart from competitors in my mind is the wing flavoring. My only complaint is the size of the wings. On multiple occasions, I feel I have received less than an adequate amount of food but keep going back because of the wonderful taste! read more

I came to Joplin to visit my sister, niece, and brother-in-law. We chose to eat out for only one meal and they had given me several options to choose from and I am VERY happy that I chose Hacketts I had been craving wings for a while and was really looking forward to it! We walked in and I loved the feel of the place. It was definitely small town and the employees at the walk up counter were helpful and kind. We sat down and waited for our food, not too long of a wait. We ordered fried okra, French fries, hot and honey wings and then the greek wings. The food came out and OH MY GOODNESS it was amazing. I am not a huge fan of dry rub wings but these were absolutely amazing. The hot and honey were spicy enough and the seasoning on the fries was to die for! I cannot wait to take my next trip and go back! read more

Oh Hackett Hot wings, how I love thee so! I'm not even a big fan of chicken wings in general, but oh my gosh these wings are amazing! I prefer the dry rubs myself. The skin is just so crispy and delicious. I recommend trying the Jerk chicken (one of the dry rubs), it is by far my favorite. Very flavorful and kind of sweet as well. Greek is also another dry rub that is really good. If you prefer the wet saucy wings then try the honey, or if you want a little spice the hot and honey are good too. Season fries are yummy and the sweet tea is great (VERY sweet). They also have some other interesting sides that I want to try soon, like fried green beans. The atmosphere is awesome and I absolutely love the exposed brick and all the neat character that this place has! I HIGHLY recommend Hackett's to anyone and everyone. You wont be sorry you tried them!! read more

This is normally one of our favorite places to eat but since they expanded their space we have been unhappy with the service. I'm sure it's difficult to hire that many new employees and not have any issues but I'm really hoping they get everything lined out sooner rather than later. Last night's meal was good (not as good as usual) but service was HORRIBLE. The kid that seated us acted as if we were a big inconvenience and was not friendly. It took over 30 minutes to get a Bloody Mary. At one point the waitress stopped and apologized for the wait and said when it takes that long it's usually a "good one". When our food was brought out I asked if we could have some silverware. There were four people in our group and she brought out two plastic forks. Our waitress did eventually bring us some real silverware. All in all I think the kinks could be corrected with some additional training. read more

Great wings, great service, interesting place. I like it here, and is quite possibly the best wings I have ever had! Spacious, and quick food, unless someone gets 100 wings the minute you stove.. (Yes, this happened..) lots of choices - beware, this place is VERY popular, and can be packed. read more

These wings are crazy good. Whenever I have people visit Joplin I always take them here. We usually get a few different kinds so they can try them all. But everyone that I've taken's favorite, mine included, is dry rubbed seasoned. So crispy with just enough seasoning. Not spicy, just tasty. The seasoned celery and carrots are good that come with the meal, and the fries are great to add on. read more

Always busy, but glorious. The man is the king of wings. I wish he'd get a bigger place Updating. Bigger place for the win, and great service still! read more

Best wings I've eaten in sometime. Travelling for work and was told by a client to come by. Best flavor hands down is the Hot and Honey. The rubs are good too. I also appreciate the staff going through the flavors, describing them and giving their opinion on their personal favorite. Overall I was very impressed and will stop by on my next business trip. read more

Good food, got the Hot-Honey chicken chunks. I would have liked if they had more breading, but I love crispy wings. They were the right amount of spicy with sweet. Food took awhile to get to out table but that is understandable since it's made fresh. Guy at the counter was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Good place! Will visit again. read more

This is one of the best dry-rub wings I've had. I had the jerk wings and it was a perfect blend of sweet and spice.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner here last weekend. We ordered onion rings, traditional wings with a dry seasoning and a sauce & seasoned fries. The portion size of the onion rings & fries was huge and we loved the spicy ranch dipping sauce they came with. The wings were wonderful! So wonderful we talked about our dinner for the rest of the night and I recommended Hackett's to all my co-workers the next day! Our waiter was great and it's a very clean and friendly environment. For all the food we got, including 2 beers, the price was acceptable. We left with our bellies FULL and a smile on our face so you can guarantee we will come back again. read more

If we were to rate only on the food we would have given a 5 star rating. However today our overall experience was barely worth a 2 star. We waited for over an hour to get our food, which can seem like an eternity to 2 young kids who are hungry. The manager did attempt to make the situation better with a 15% discount. We have eaten here several and this is the first bad experience and we will return in the future. read more
