They sent me the invoices, from them it appears their time estimates are conservative which is great, for instance they can replace a timing chain in 5 hours which is a hell of a lot faster than I can do it! It is my opinion the costs are hidden by the price of parts. The subframe on my Saab was replaced in April, the charge for the part which was used was 1,080 dollars. Here in the south I can get 5 for that price 1,080 dollars. The worst part however is for around 1,080 dollars you can actually buy a brand new OEM subframe. What about a PCV valve for 50 bucks!? The superseded part number to the one in the invoice, in other words the newer part number, costs 12 dollars. Keep in mind that Saab parts are not hard to get contrary to what you may hear, the factories are still pumping a lot of them out. Make of my review what you will, but I personally would not take my Saab to this mechanic.

I'm in, I say! 6 years with an Escape and I didn't plan on changing anything so I told him my preferred color, interior, and features. In minutes he's got quotes and window stickers coming into my phone. Got nearly everything I wanted for significantly cheaper than I'd been paying for the last 3 years (the only trade off was one feature that would have bumped me up to a higher level, it was worth passing on to keep the savings). We did all the paperwork online via e-sign and they had someone drop the car off, fully gloved up and masked, in my driveway. A quick switch of plates and a wave goodbye to my old Escape and he was off. Practically no contact at all and the whole process took two days. One day to pick out the vehicle and another to complete the paperwork and get the keys. The incentives and rebates right now are wild. If you've been on the fence about a new car but have been putting it off, now's the time. I'm saving about $40 a month on my payment! Can't go wrong with that. My new car is a real beauty and I'm enjoying admiring her in the driveway. I won't be driving her much over the next few months but that just makes the new car smell last all the longer. To their credit, the dealership did attempt multiple repairs and eventually provided a rental during one of the visits, but the process became extremely frustrating. Since purchasing the vehicle, I've had to make repeated trips back to the service department for the same unresolved issues. The Explorer sat for hours during one appointment without being looked at, I went several visits without any loaner assistance, and communication between departments often seemed disconnected. On top of the original leak issue, a leaking rear shock, rear main seal leak, oil plug leak, and a metal-on-metal noise were later discovered. Some staff members, including Lance and Shaun, were helpful and professional when addressing concerns, but overall the experience has been disappointing considering how soon these problems started after purchase. As of my latest visit, the metal hitting noise is still present despite multiple attempted fixes. I understand used vehicles can have issues, but I expected better inspection, communication, and follow-through from a large dealership.

After having numerous mechanics work on my car and still not fix the problems correctly, I was beginning to lose hope. Then I took my car to Convenience Auto Repair and spoke with Matt and Pat. They listened to my concerns, found the issues, took pictures of the issues and sent them to me before the work was done and they fixed my car properly. I had repairs done in the past, including replacing the slave cylinder clutch hydraulic line and the parking brake cable, but the problems still weren't completely resolved until Convenience Auto Repair worked on my car. Now my car is running like it's brand new! It's such a relief to finally have a car that drives the way it should. Matt and Pat were professional, knowledgeable, and honest throughout the entire process.
