I took my 2014 MKX here for detailing. I scheduled an appointment and it was explained that it would be completed in one work day. I dropped off my car at 9 am but I was called about 2 pm to day it was complete. Davis Auto Care also offers rides back home so I didn't have to wait at the shop. They picked me up at my home within 30 min of my call letting me know it was done. The car looks practically brand new, especially the detailing on the inside! Well done and I'll be back. This is a well organized and quality auto repair shop. Always fair in their pricing. Evaluates the problem quickly. Thouroghly explains what repairs are needed and what others may be added if you are interested. Tries to save parts that can be salvaged and reused to lower the cost. I always feel like I'm getting a fair price. The repairs are done in the time they tell you they'll be done. Plus they give a ride back home if you need to leave your car overnight. Service Advisor (the one with the glasses) has a terrible unfriendly attitude and is not very knowledgeable. The obvious lack of knowledge combined with a pathetic attitude made of a shabby experience overall. It took innumerable visits and multiple arguments to fix, what was a very basic problem. Definitely overrated as a shop, whose work is at par with any other run of the mill garage. I personally will never go there again. I stand by every single statement. read more

As a woman it's difficult to trust your instincts when it comes to Auto Care. Which is why most often I make the 'Hey Daddy...' phone call to get his advice. He's been going to Davis for quite some time for all things AUTO. They are a family owned business, and provide no B.S. They won't try and up-sell you, they won't target you for being a 'stupid consumer', they'll put oil back in your car when you get your oil changed (yes, it's happened to a friend before... ended up with a big explosion and a loss of a car on the 5 Freeway in LA, YIKES!), they'll treat you like a human being and be nothing but honest and respectful. Finding a shop you can trust with vehicle repair is as difficult as finding a Doctor you can trust. The staff at Davis has always been professional and thorough. Their work is quality, especially the latest repair on our 2008 grand caravan that had quirky electrical issues. The vehicle was turned around promptly, and at a reasonable cost. Absolutely love Davis Auto Care. Dave is always there to greet you and really listens to your explanation (complete with sound effects) of what is going on with your car. Once the mechanics (several have their national certifications as master mechanics on the wall) have looked at the problem, Dave or April calls you back and explains IN LAYMAN TERMS, gives you your options and the prices involved with each. Fantastic! I've always had my work completed the same day I dropped off the car, though sometimes had to wait a day or two to drop it off. I took my car in for brakes and was told I would receive a call with an estimate of the condition of the breaks and the repairs. Sure enough, the call came within 2 hours and the tech explained everything to my satisfaction. I was told the rears needed new pads and rotors but the front still had 18-20k miles of service remaining. They were given the go ahead to do the repairs and they called me promptly when completed. BTW, they have a courtesy van that took me home when I dropped off the vehicle. Great experience and I will go back. read more

Honest and competent, bur a bit expensive. One complaint -- I brought my vehicle in because of an electrical problem. Davis replaced the battery and recommended a number of other services, some of which I got done. But I had to bring the car back because one of the battery cables was faulty. I feel that should have been caught and the repair recommended when they were replacing the battery. read more

This was the best experience I have ever had with and kind of service. I spoke to Dave Massel on the phone and explained to him my vehicle was seriously dead in my driveway, he then put me in touch with Phil's 76 Service and the they said they could be there in 20 minutes, they were actually here in 15 minutes. He towed my car to Davis Auto Care, now based on my experience with Suburban Chrysler I was expecting a $1,400 to $1,500 bill, But took my car for several hours to examine it. Mr. Massel called me back to tell me "you have something turned on in you car that drained your battery completely ( found it, it was my GPS), we have charged it back to full power, your alternator is good, your generator is good. I said that's really great, as long as you have it please change the oil, rotate the tires and examine the brakes because they feel soft to me. Now folks I just left the window wide open to be taken advantage of and to my amazement, they called back after a thorough brake inspection and described item by item of the braking system what they found and said nothing is wrong. I picked up the vehicle and was told my cost was $158.78 (not including the tow). I was floored that they took that much time to examine it and the cost was so reasonable. I told Mr. Massel he has a customer for life and I am telling everyone I know about what a fine organization it is to do busineCalling Davis was one of the BEST experiences I have ever had with any kss with. As a side note, I took my wife to PF Changs for dinner and toasted Davis Auto Care as they were responsible for us being able to go out to dinner last night. Very courteous service! Needed to get a standard oil change. It was a Saturday morning and there were only 2 guys working. It took a little while to get in for the oil change but the two gentlemen working were very apologetic and were working very hard to get through the cars. Explained everything to me without talking down or being rude. I don't know cars very well so they ask a lot of questions. He told me that my air filter was getting old and was honest about the cost of replacing it myself vs. having them do it. He gave me a few minutes to think about it and, after confirming what he told me online, I had him replace it. The honesty was refreshing! Overall, a wonderful experience! This company is horrible. My 9 month pregnant wife too our vehicle there for repairs. They removed a bolt from the undercarriage, did the repairs and then hand tightened the bolt without torqueing it. It fell out and the whole transmission banged against the bottom of the vehicle as she struggled to drive 2 1/2 hours home from parents in the evening. The owner Jim Davis said, "we care" but denies any responsibilty whatsoever. Incredible. read more
