Theirs is a no-frills operation, and the lack of the 5th star is that their location does not allow many options for waiting out the (usually prompt) service. Unorganized. Unprofessional. Typical stereotype of a auto repair shop. You go in for 1 thing then they say another. You know what the problem is and tell them but yet they want to take it a step further and charge you more for something that you know that doesn't have to be repaired. Heard about Haas Inc on yelp and gave them a try. Very professional and felt like I was at a dealership. Got a routine oil change for $35 which included a lot of additional services and a thorough inspection of the car. I don't mind driving from the suburbs to get my vehicles serviced at a good auto repair shop. I highly recommend this place to get your Honda/Acura serviced. read more

Have been a Haas customer for almost five years. Found Haas using Yelp for our '03 Accord. Could not have been more satisfied. They are honest, very fair with pricing, and work in an efficient manner. We've been in about five times for anything from routine maintenance to brake work, and each time have been pleased with our transaction. Twice they examined our car and sent us home without a bill because there wasn't a problem after all. (One time there was a loose piece of metal making a sound, the other time our ABS light was coming on and we thought we needed something replaced... we didn't. They test drove the car, looked at the ABS sensor and still charged us nothing. Amazing.) Just sold our Honda to a family member in IN. They had a question about the car and called Haas, who were very willing to help them. Their shop in IN was trying to overcharge them for a part, and Haas was honest about what price they should be paying--- so essentially Haas is charging far less here in Chicago than the dealership in Indiana. Can't say enough good. Way to go, Haas! If you drive a Honda or Acura, look no further. read more

Rick at Haas saved my bacon. Found out that the expensive part a Honda dealership told me was leaking, was, in fact, NOT leaking. Further, that it appeared as if it had been doctored to LOOK like it was leaking. No charge, free double check of the part in a few weeks to make sure. I am frankly gobsmacked by how great, honest and classy Haas is. They have my business, now and forever! read more

My regular mechanic sent me here because of a problem that he couldn't fix. Their service is prompt, prices are fair, and customer interaction is outstanding. I won't leave the mechanic who's been working on my cars for the last 3 decades (Joe @ 3 Brothers), but appreciate his sound referral. They only work on Honda's & Accuras. read more

I was nervous about finding a mechanic who specializes in Hondas. These guys knew their stuff. Everyone was super friendly, from scheduling the appointment, through showing up to pay for the repair. They ensured to call and make sure I was comfortable with going forward with the repair after the total amount was given to me. They even talked about some not fully necessary, but potential preventative maintenance to perform. Before leaving, they explained some things I could do myself to keep the car running in tip top shape. These guys are really professional and super friendly. First of all-I'm in no way related to the owner(s) of Haas or anyone who works there. I live in the West Loop area and purposely go out of my way to bring my 04 Odyssey and 09 Accord here. I have been coming here for over 4 yrs now. They are professional in their work and relationship with me. I have only had excellent work performed on my vehicles: tune-ups, brakes. They did my brakes and told me that I had additional miles on my pads so no need to replace them at this time. They really are concerned about doing the best work and providing their services for a very good price. read more

Although a good half hour away from my place, I went off fellow Yelp'ers to get me out of a tough fix for my car. After only half an hour and $40, these dudes saved the day! They figured out exactly what the problem was and didn't overcharge anything. I really dig the drop off system, wherein you leave the car, drop the keys in the box overnight and they have the entire morning and rest of the day to get your car done. Saves me from dealing with traffic. Already used them again for oil change (which comes with free tire rotation), and now heading back there for more of a major fix. Honda/Acura specialists to the rescue, for real! Great customer service, super professional, highly knowledgeable, honest type guys. Would highly recommend ! read more

I found this place when I owned a Honda and then started taking my Acura there after the warranty was up. The staff is great and I have never had any issues with the maintenance repairs they have done! I often see a Mueller's Woodfield Acura van in their parking lot (which is where I bought my Acura) so I know they get some of their parts from the best! AND you can't beat the price! read more

60,000 mile service was hundreds cheaper than I was quoted at the dealer and they use all Acura parts. Most recently my engine was making a squeaking noise and they replaced the proper belt for under $100. This was after I got a quote for over $400 at another shop for the same problem. I trust these guys! I used to like my Acura dealer, but revenues have been down and now every time I go to the dealer they attempt to scare me into replacing things that don't need to be replaced. It's good to know there are still some establishments out there that don't have to rely on dishonesty to stay afloat. read more

Took my Accord to Haas to diagnose a tricky electrical problem. They ran a battery of tests over the course of a few days and eventually narrowed it down to an issue with the CD-changer. Ultimately, because they didn't do any major work beyond diagnosing the issue they didn't charge me anything. Was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward and honest everyone there was. I've been to many other shops around the city, and often feel like I'm being upsold on parts and services, or like my presence is a burden to the staff. This was not at all the case at Haas; each employee I spoke with was very friendly and knowledgable. Would highly recommend Haas for a low-stress auto repair experience. read more

I took my Honda to Haas two summers ago because my AC was not working. They informed me that the compressor was broken and it would cost ~$1300 for the replacement and work. I could not reason the investment in a car that is worth $10,000 so I sweated out two summers of heat. I dreaded the arrival of summer and any more horribly uncomfortable commutes in the car. This summer, I thought to look into selling the car because of this AC problem. Before taking this dramatic measure, I took it to another mechanic to see what their pricing would be. Within 2 hours, the mechanic called and said the compressor was fine, it just required a minor fix. He charged me $90. I can't believe how many days of heat I endured because of Haas's misdiagnosis. I am giving them 3 stars because I did not get the impression that they were taking advantage and I do not know the technicalities in fixing/diagnosing an AC problem. HAAS is absolutely top-notch. I'm extremely particular about my auto maintenance. The guys here are always straight up, honest, and never try to sell you into something you don't absolutely need. I own an Acura and a Honda, and HAAS has never let me down. They've done everything from routine oil changes to timing belts and major services. They ONLY use real Honda parts, and even allow me to bring in my own (real Honda) parts when I want to save a little cash by buying online. When I had a rusting muffler, they said they would replace it with a new Honda one, but that I could save a fair amount by going to an aftermarket place - they actually suggested that I go somewhere else to save money! Seriously, that's honesty. @K.N. (the ONLY reviewer to give this place less than 4 stars) - sorry that it seems like you had bad luck, but luck is what it was. If you had given them a chance to fix your problem, believe me, they would have, and probably for free. read more

I recently purchased an older 2007 Acura MDX that unexpectantly had engine issues only 900 miles into owning the vehicle. My local Acura dealership stated that I needed a new engine. Not something I wanted to hear on a newly purchased vehicle and being a very COSTLY repair in itself. I brought my vehicle into HAAS Inc for a 2nd opinion and after doing some homework asked them to do another type of test which the dealership did not initially perform. Shame on the Acura dealership! The new diagnosis from HAAS Inc was that I did NOT need a new replacement engine but just a new exhaust valve! In addtion, Bob and Fred were both very helpful and saved and showed me the bad valve after the work was done that was the root of the problem which I always like to see as proof. My 2007 Acura MDX is back in working order and roadworthy! HAAS Inc's cost of the repair was fair and straightforward. I will NEVER take my Acura MDX again to the dealership, and HAAS has gained a customer for life on both my family's Acura MDX's. Bring your Honda or Acura vehicles to HAAS Inc.
