This was our first meal in London. It really hit the spot! This restaurant is definitely upscale Indian. There are lots of options to choose from - many dishes not like ones you'd find in most Indian restaurants in the States - and they served up a great flavor. Each of our dishes was unique, and it was hard to pick a favorite. This was a nice spot to go with my parents. There seemed to be a lot of couples but also big groups dining here. Go for the Kingfisher on draft! Our waiters were very nice and just the right amount of attentive.

If you're looking for a classy Indian restaurant in Knightsbridge then this place would be it, but otherwise, I wouldn't recommend. London is known for their food and diversity, everywhere I have dined in London was nothing less than a phenomenal experience except this place. We walked in after a long day of walking around in Knightsbridge and Harrods, given the restaurant was only half full, we weren't even acknowledged to get seated until after some time. After we got seated there were no server, no water or silverware until again much later, seemed like any other short-staffed Indian/Asian restaurant to keep a business running. What we had: -Jeera Chicken -Chicken Tikka -Hariyali Kabab (no green chutney..) -Garlic naan I'm a big foodie and if the food is good I don't think twice before splurging but I've had so much better than this Indian food honestly, food quantity was very poor for the price they ask for some average Indian food and terrible customer service where they barely ever check up on you and takes forever to come when you call someone. Beautiful decor though, but that's just about it.

Garlic naan, tandoori chicken, saam lamb and onion rice pulao

A good Indian find in the heart of Knightsbridge. I had wanted British Indian food to impress, and it certainly hasn't disppointed. The lamb vindaloo looked attractive to me at first, but its 3-star spicy rating was enough to deter. I love spicy food but certainly wasn't prepared to suffer the consequences of that on this trip. Instead we went with the saam lamb. Fantasticly thick blended spicy spinach with cubed lamb perfect for a garlic naan pairing. The tandoori chicken was a bit on the dry side. Its meat also was leaner, unlike the factory farm product you'd expect back in the States. Poultry is always tricky, and fattier chickens appear to make for more forgiving outcomes. For the rice we went with the onion rice pulao. What the menu fails to mention is that it's in fact basmati rice stir fried with diced tomatos and perilla seeds. So very fragrant, so very understated. The wait service was adequate and prompt despite it being staffed with only one waiter and a bus boy. Also let it be known that they have Kingfisher on tap; that alone counts for two stars.

The food was really good (I ordered a vegan eggplant dish) but the service wasn't so great. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well (a lentil stew and a chicken curry) however the food took forever to arrive. There weren't even that many people at all but there was no explanation as to why the food took SO long. Also, the waiter wasn't very accommodating when I asked about vegan options. He was also not very understanding when I made a few requests about my food. Considering the service and how the food wasn't amazing, the place was quite overpriced. If you're in the area and craving Indian food, Haandi is a good option but otherwise, it's nothing that special.

The nondescript facade doesn't prepare you for the bright, sleek interior of this outstanding Indian restaurant, where the busy kitchen staff is on view behind a wall of curved tinted glass. Lamb lovers have several choices, the best of which are the spicy minced lamb with fresh peas, onions, tomatoes, and chillies and the lamb vindaloo with fresh coconut milk. I also recommend the potato and cauliflower stir fry flavored with ginger, baked eggplant mashed with onions and tomatoes, and fresh tuna curry. There's a wide assortment of stuffed naans; my favorite is one topped with chopped nuts, cheese, tomato sauce, and coriander. For dessert be sure to try the delicious carrot pudding with almonds, which is something I haven't found on other Indian menus. The waiters are very friendly and attentive, and the chef is happy to spice according to a diner's request, so if you ask for medium heat that's exactly what you'll get. This Knightsbridge dining spot is worth a trip from anywhere in the city. Because it's very popular, even midweek, reservations are recommended.

OMG! The best indian food in the city. Just a 5 mins walk from Harrods. The goan fish curry is an absolute must order, fish is tender and perfectly cooked! If you like spicy, tell them to make it spicier because 2 stars doesn't tickle at all. Naan is made to order and you can see the chefs preparing it through the open kitchen. Meat samosas are so good, you can really taste the lamb (although it could have been salted a little more.

Excellent neighborhood Indian restaurant that we walked to from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This is true British Indian food.

Good honest Indian. Clean. Well maintained. Friendly service. Rich curries like I like. Meats in curries could be a little more tender.

Memorable North Indian food. I will never forget their Gagar Halwa, grated carrot, spiced sweet pudding.

We were seated at the shared table but only one other person was at this large table. The food here is phenomenal. We got the prawns, butter chicken, naan, and roti. The butter chicken was one of the best I've ever had. The prawns were spiced really well and the lemon added a nice sour flavor. The naan was also super soft. I was impressed by the service as well. They took the time to explain the menu to us. When the roti came out a bit cold, they brought us a new one and offered us a voucher to return. Really amazing people running this place. Will absolutely return when I'm in London again.

We got the following: - Dishoom Margarita - Baba's Sesame Espresso Martini - Dishoom House Chaat: this was an explosion of flavour! Had the sweetness of the pomegranate but also sour from the yogurt and spicy! Definitely recommend this one as a starter. 9/10 - Chicken Ruby: Dishoom's take on traditional butter chicken. Very deep flavour on this and less spicy than the other items we ordered, if you are sensitive to spice you will like this one. 8/10 - Garlic Naan: our choice of vehicle for the chicken ruby! 8/10 - Nalli Nihari Biryani: This was the star of the show and is the chef's Kensington special - only at this location! It is a lamb biryani served in a puff pastry. The waiter (kudos to Rosario) can cut it open for you and is served with sauce, onion, and yogurt on the side. Serves 2, so make sure you come hungry! 9/10 - Dishoom Chocolate Pudding: This is served with a Kashmiri chili ice cream. Super delicious and very unique. I might entertain a chili oil ice cream in the future because of this. 7/10 This was our first night in London and we were not disappointed! Worth the hype!

I rarely go back to the same place in London to eat in a month, and I was back the next day! The food tastes much better if consumed fresh on site than if it's packed for takeaway The roti chinai we tried with dhal, chicken curry and beef rendang. My vote would be for the chicken curry. The first day we got a really large roti, on the second day we got a set of 2 smaller rotis. Murtabak - we tried the chicken and lamb. Lamb wins hands down! I also had the lamb curry thali and that is a complete meal. The veggies are seasonal and oh so yum! I was delighted to see king fish (sear fish) on the menu, so I had a slice of that as well. Such a fantastic taste of home. The masala dosa was fantastic. The chilled lemon honey drink was perfect on the side. The food is typical to Tamil Malaysian cooking with its blend of South Indian and Malay flavours. There may be a bit of a wait at peak times, but nothing like the queue outside the original roti king in Euston. And the seating at Victoria market halls (where this is located) is much more open and comfortable. Heavily recommended

I had the Hunter's menu, which was filled with fresh game and superb in each course including the centerpiece of Guinea Fowl biryani and dal. In addition to the tasting menu, I shared other plates with family. I cannot say enough about how good every single dish was. The flavors were so rich, complex, and simply stunning. I would give this six or seven stars if I could. Eight stars. There are not enough stars. Along with the food itself, this is a restaurant that is doing every single thing right and at the highest level. The second you walk through the door, you will be greeted by a delightful bell and decor that artfully mixes the best of Britain and India in a thoroughly modern way. For drinks, they offer comprehensive and delicious options for booze, cocktails, and those who prefer non alcoholic beverages. The tasting menus on offer are not mandatory for everyone at the table, which is not typical and should be the standard everywhere. Perhaps most importantly, the service is incredible. Our waiter, Danny, was so kind. The pacing of the meal was perfect. My sister received an incredible birthday surprise and card simply because I noted it was a special occasion on Opentable. I left Kutir smiling from ear to ear. I will be back as soon as possible. Sadly, that will likely be a long time from now since I live in New York. I pray they open a branch in my city soon. A friend of the chef organized this dinner for us, and like many other fancy Indian restaurants, they do have a rather silly children policy, but thanks to our host, an exception was made for us. Kutir's experience begins with it's thoughtful setup. You are indeed welcomed in a home with pretty compact seating. Their rooftop seating is really inviting, but we could not seat there because the restaurant wasn't as busy on a Sunday evening. Aarav, our server made food recommendations which included a brilliantly tasty serving of Crab ~ Pepper Fry (£14), Lamb ~ Black Cumin (£24), Jheenga ~ Moilee (£26), and a Bread ~ Basket (£12). Our little one enjoyed the Double Tadka ~ Dal (£8) with some Steamed ~ Rice (£5). The Crab and Jheenga were absolutely spectacular. Desserts were on the okay-ish end and included Chocolate ~ Peanut (£10), and Cassata ~ Rose (£9) which had a very grainy texture. Aarav was very attentive, and friendly towards our little one. Very very good service. Noise levels were on the lower end, and it was easy to have a quiet conversation when we weren't eating all the delicious food! Highly recommend this place for an absolute unique take on Indian food!
