I really wanted to like this salon because it's very convenient for me, but unfortunately my experiences were disappointing. I've visited twice and had two different technicians, and both times I was unhappy with the results. During my first visit, the technician did not use the color I selected, and I ended up having to go home and repaint my nails myself. On my second visit, the experience felt chaotic--the technician nicked my skin twice, accidentally glued us together, and repeatedly knocked over tools and polish bottles. To make matters worse, the chrome finish I paid extra for began peeling in less than a week. Based on these experiences, I won't be returning and cannot recommend this salon. read more

This place used to be nice to go to. Now they're awful. The Vietnamese will use their language barrier as an excuse to not understand you when it's convenient and it becomes extremely frustrating when you explain to them the same things over and over and they repeatedly ask you the same things over and over never remembering a word you say. They try to find any way to upcharge you or make you spend more so watch your ticket before you pay, because they will add things if you're not looking. I got ripped off today. Here's my story. I've been going to this salon for 5 years now and I've always been a generous tipper and an easy customer. Today I brought my friend with me which is bringing them business that they're lacking (rightfully so) and it was awful. They messed up my dip nails and had to redo them almost from scratch and you know how long that takes. I tried being patient and nice about them constantly messing everything up and being extremely rude to me. So I'm stuck there for much longer than I planned to be when I have other things planned today and this is getting into my time and messing up my plans scheduled! Instead of offering to give me something free or a percentage off or any sort of remedy or even a sorry for messing up and wasting so much of my time they tell me that I should be thankful that I was not charged TWICE for my nails since they had to redo them. I was never informed that if they fixed the mess they created I would have to pay TWICE for it. So if they mess my nails up basically I am screwed and still have to pay for it and if I want it fixed then I need to pay for it TWICE!!! I have been a loyal customer for years and you're insulting my intelligence by telling me that I should he thankful for not having to pay for it twice? I was asking nicely if they would give me a discount for all of my time wasted and that is when they started to pretend and use their language barrier to pretend they don't understand what I am asking for. Finally after trying to remedy the situation and reaching my wits end with explaining the same things over and over again I broke down crying. I realized I was being betrayed. I've been coming here for so long and raving and I brought in business and this is how I am treated. I was charged out the butt today for crap nails. They don't even look good. Making a next day pedicure appt went smoothly and once we arrived we were seated within 10 minutes at our pedicure chairs. I only gave 4 stars due to the limited gel color choices and the pedicure menu being different than the actual service provided. I booked the Happy Feet package which included the 30 minute massage. But was provided with the Volcano kit as my pedicure product. This was, in my mind a nice upgrade done at no extra cost. My friend was given a choice of scent and chose Jasmine. Which was listed within the Happy Feet options. Adding gel was $30 I wanted more bling and my technician added an extra coat of glitter gel over the pink color. So if you go, don't be shy about asking for what you want in terms of color and design. Overall the pedicure was thorough and well done. read more

It has been years since I had my nails done. I have had a few manicures but havent had any type of acrylic or artificial nails. I moved to mandeville and was thinking of getting my nails done looking for a nail place to go to in my area instead of commuting back to Metairie I used to live and where I still work. I found h2k on Instagram and loved their work and was planning on getting my nails done but ended up going somewhere else in Metairie on a whim with a friend. My nails came out absolutely horrible. There were bubbles in the Polish, the acrylics were uneven and miss shapen and after only a week they were separating from my nailbed at the cuticle area. I spent more money then I would like to admit on them and hated to have to pay to have them redone...i considered taking them off and giving up but eventually decided to go to h2k like I had originally wanted too. I am glad that I did they fixed my nails and even said how horrible they looked. They couldn't believe how bad of a job had been done. The only bad thing I can say is how long it took to have my nails redone....i did call first and they said they had enough staff to accommodate amy walkins. I got there and they were busy but I didn't think I would have to wait too long, now I know I should have made an appt. It took 3 hours for an acrylic refill... I understand mine took a little longer than the usual because it was a fix but I sat for a very long time. They were just blatantly prejudice against my friend and I. They didn't greet us like the others nor showed any decent courtesy. When I asked about how much a manicure + take off was, he said $33 but when I looked in the book it said $20. When I told him about how much it said in the book, he claimed that it was wrong and not updated. He then took a sharpie and scratched out the price in the book and put the "correct" price. The women who painted my nails rushed through them, and didn't even do that great of a job, just to go hurry and start on someone else. They apologized to others about the wait + conversing with them, but never said a word to us. I felt uncomfortable, annoyed, and felt like they were being prejudiced towards us. Why does this place not have more reviews? I'll make this very short (because I've only been once). It's small, but VERY clean, well kept, and welcoming. Friday's and Saturday's: no appointments allowed, but I didn't wait long at all. Plus they have wifi so that's a help! The biggest plus here is the amount of OPTIONS! If you're big on nails (I always have been), they have wonderful colors, designs, mood change polish, and sns dipping powders. They also do chrome for a really decent price which is hard to find in Mandeville and Covington, trust me I've looked. It's pretty hard to find anywhere who will step out of the basic square manicure box out here, and they do it well. I was okay with starting with one person and finishing with another. This happened at a different place in Mandeville and I wasn't as fond of it because it felt like I was more of a burden at that establishment, but they transitions easily. My nail place that I regularly went to an hour away did the same, and it was always an easy transition. I'm okay with having the person who's best for the job, whether it be sculpting or nail art, complete it. As far as work is concerned, I forgot to get the guys name, but his wife watched as she did nails the entire time (she painted mine), and they were both awesome! He went behind my regular work, added new acrylic, sculpted it AWESOME! Stiletto design can be hard at times, and put special detail on the tips and making them even. I don't think anyone has ever put that much care into smoothing the top of my acrylic and buffing it out until it felt like glass! Out of the four I've tried on the Northshore they are by far the best out here. I will be returning! ***almost one year in, and I'm still beyond impressed! Everything I ask Hannah to do, she makes it happen. Marble this and that, ombré, scary, designs, she will make it happen. I have sent over ten people to her and they have all returned! Only a handful of my friends get the fancy stuff, (I get it... it's a lot, but it's so fancy!) but all of my friends who get basic manicures are sns are always impressed. You WILL pay for it... but for nail colors and designs that will easily last a month (booooo to nails growing too fast or it would be longer!) it's worth every single penny. Side note, she does nails so good that when I soaked mine off for a three week breather, almost everyone around me was disappointed because I didn't have "my nails". read more

It is easy to tell when they are busy by the waiting area and people in chairs. Staff is very responsive and willing to notify you of expected wait times in person or via phone. I almost never visit nail salons except for an occasional pedicure, this is a great place to get one. Very clean environment, the pedicure tubs are very sanitary because they place plastic liners in each one to keep them clean. I've been going to H2K for about 3 years now and it far exceeds the expectations of any nail salon I've ever been to. When I first started going, it was because I had an awful experience at a different salon in Mandeville; and, once I went to H2K, I never wanted to go to any place else. I've still tried other nail salons (since I now live in Baton Rouge), but none of them match the talents of the H2K crew. Decent salon but makes me miss my regular salon back home. It's location is convenient to my family so I tend to go here for a last minute mani. The design is poor so you sit in a chair for your pedi and are asked to move to a table for the mani. If I'm paying $65 for a salon mani-pedi I want to relax and not move again until it's finished. The staff are constantly bouncing from one client to another trying to accommodate everyone. A good selection of colors and a personable staff.
