This is amazing. Grab and go food- all sorts of Asian food. My kids enjoyed it, and ate dinner here. I found snacks I liked. There's security. We had fun Here's where it's confusing... one side of street has grab and go and the other is the grocery. I would have loved this if I was in college. They have things my Hmart doesn't have. Upstairs has more including home items. I love it. Better than my Hmart. Only missing live fish.

Great spot to find all the Asian goodies. Sweets, drinks, moshi, noodles and oooohhh that lickher!! Tons of snacks to pick up while you explore. Friendly staff. The Mart is 2 stories.

Finally tried Korean food and liked it moment!! Fav of the day: tofu soup!!

H mart!! It's the newer spot on the ave. And it's kinda perfect for student life. This ones much smaller, much more compact. They still have a lot of the same stuff from downtown but not as fancy/ nice of a store esthetic. The 2 guys that work here are less than friendly too. But it's ok. It's an in and out place! Most stuffs are good. Quick grab of Korean food/ dumplings! Snacks etc. it is overpriced compared to others. But they are one of the H Marts that open late: Till 11 pm! Especially now in pandemic, it's unheard of! Parking is street parking and you will be wrestling with homeless on the ave. They are much more aggressive at night. Overall, smaller H mart on the ave. Not my goto but it's convenient.

We've been staying at UWMC for over a week and getting sick of the cafeteria food... and craving Asian food. Found this grocery store on Yelp and the salmon bento looked appealing so took an Uber over there. I didn't even bother to go up to the second floor, just checked out the food stuff on the first floor. They got a good selection of Asian items, including fresh veggies. I was super impressed that they had a selection of Filipino specialty drinks, and their fruit platters looked exceptional. However, the bentos I went there for were pretty unappealing. Don't know how to describe it but they looked old and of poor quality... especially the poke bowls. Ended up not getting any and just purchased some Itoen teas and vinegar cracklings (Filipino)---- two more items I was surprisingly impressed that they carried.

Man, I would've loved to have had an H Mart, walking distance from my college. This H Mart located on the Ave is targeted for those college students who frequent the area, as with most of the businesses in the U-District. I visited H Mart, just to check out what they had while in the area, and it was different from my primary location in Bellevue. It's not as spacious, nor is the grocery selection as expansive as other H Marts, but again, this is a location that's catering to students. With that said, they had many already-prepared items, snacks, beverages and other food items. But do not expect a butcher, a deli, a seafood selection, etc... With that said, H Mart on the Ave is a win for Huskies. But for everyone else who's used to shopping at other H Marts, the selection may be limited. Also, when I visited on a weekday after 3PM, the already-prepared items were not discounted, like what they offer at the Bellevue H Mart where items are discounted 30% off. Still, it's a good value for students who want a quick Korean meal and groceries to take back to their dorms and so on.

Great place with friendly staff. I love to grab meat and anything else when rushing home

I've been to several H Marts and this one is by far my LEAST FAVORITE. Perhaps this is because it seems to be catered to the student life style (dozens of ramen etc.). Although it was two floors it's small and things were pricey as compared to other Asian grocery stores (keeping in mind that Korean food is usually more expensive in general). The first floor has some produce, mini baked goods, snacks and drinks while the 2nd floor has kitchen tools/kitchen appliances and a small Kpop/Korean beauty product section, which I was hoping had more Korean skin care products. The staff were okay- not super friendly and all hung out around the registers it seems. Tip- limited parking as it is located in the U district and no public restrooms- even for playing customers (odd in my opinion).

I love Asian grocery stores and I was hoping to get some cutesy Korean products, so I was excited to check out this H Mart. The store is packed in pretty tightly and the first floor is mostly produce, packaged food items, beverages, and other food groceries. The second floor has more pantry items, some household goods, and their "beauty" section which is its own room. They have a lot of hair color here, some makeup, a few desk accessory type items, and some toys. Not as much as I was hoping for, but I did get a couple things. I also bought some Korean snacks and treats to try and one item that I'd received in a Korean snack box. Their beverage selection is pretty awesome, I wish we had more time to check things out and purchase more to enjoy during our stay. I'd love to visit more H Marts in the future!

Yes, it went well, as usual. Highly recommended to visit and try it out. Also, it is usually in a good location.

Does it have live seafood section?

Unfortunately, no.

Does anyone know if they have Ohui cosmetics ? I'm looking for a Ohui's cushion foundation.

OK, still haven't stepped in this very busy, Chinese grocery store, but got to eat a birthday cake…read morepurchased from there. If one likes mangos, their mango strawberry cake is a dream. Costing under $60, the large cake was beautifully made and decorated. Like other Asian bakeries (e.g. Paris Baguette, Tous Les Jours, 85 C), the cake was chiffon with whipped cream and was quite good. But what made it stand out was how mango and strawberries were incorporated into the design AND how it tasted. Mangoes were thinly sliced and used like fondant to COVER the entire top of the cake. Then chopped mangos and whole strawberries were added on top to decorate it even more. Fondant is great to make the cake look good, but I don't like it as an edible product (it's like eating pure sugar for me). Ripe mango, on the other hand, I could eat all day...and this version was ripe without being overly so. The cake came well packaged in a travel container, and included a cake cutter, signage, and a candle. The four of us could barely make a large dent in it (maybe a 1/3), even though it didn't use buttermilk frosting, but used really good whipped cream instead. I think it's twice the size of a Tous Les Jour large (which is usually what our family gets for birthdays), and wasn't that much more.

On my way home, I stopped in and noticed the bao selection, which looked fresh and appealing. The…read morevegetarian option, however, was marked "sold out." When I asked an employee whether any vegetable bao were still available, she told me--clearly and confidently--that there were. I specifically questioned this, pointing to the "sold out" sign, yet she insisted that they were not sold out and proceeded to package four for me. When she handed me the box, I asked again--explicitly--whether these were vegetarian. For a third time, she assured me that they were. After a two-hour drive home, I opened the box to find that I had been given pork bao. This was not a minor oversight. I asked multiple times and received repeated, unequivocal assurances. At that point, this ceases to be a simple mistake and reflects either a complete disregard for accuracy or a willingness to mislead a customer to move product. Neither is acceptable. Customers rely on staff to provide correct information, especially when dietary preferences or restrictions are involved. The failure here was not just operational--it was a failure of basic honesty and accountability. This experience left me feeling violated, disrespected, and taken advantage of. It is extremely disappointing that such conduct can occur in a business that presents itself as reputable. One interaction like this is enough to severely damage trust in the store as a whole.

At first glance, you see a nichè European grocery store. But it's not until you enter that you see it's much more. It is a small grocery store, minus the produce. It also has a very Eastern European vibe. At first, you think 'Russian', but in reality, it's Ukrainian. There is a shared regional heritage, but it stops there when you walk a big room, which is actually their dining room serving some yummy regional favorites. Sitting down and looking at the menu, your eyes take in all the choices. Chicken Kyiv, Beef Goulash, and house made mushroom soup. There was also fresh house baked bread to round out the experience. What was most appreciated was that the meal and the service were definitely homemade, and with treated with love! Do you wish a beverage with your meal? Walk back to the store and order a canned soda, or choose from one of variety of wines off the shelf - European vintages, of course. Come a little bit early, as the restaurant closes near 7 pm, but the store is ready to serve you until closing. [As of this writing, July 1, 2024, the war in Ukraine is still waging. This market is smaller than its competitor in Tacoma, but we found it well-stocked and organized, as evidenced by its bright, airy, and friendly staffed atmosphere. Our biggest dissatisfaction was with their ready-made meals--unbeknownst to us until we reached the checkout area, we learned that à la carte items are priced by weight. Normally, in other Filipino markets that offer ready-made entrees, a la carte items are priced by container size (S, M, L) rather than by weight. In essence, they were expensive meals to swallow (no pun intended). Secondly, most of what we purchased lacked flavor and content. For example, the pork sinigang was not sour enough, and the pork belly lacked substance because most were very fatty rather than meaty. The large container also had more liquid/soup than meat and veggies. Moreover, the chicken and pork barbecue were subpar, again lacking taste--exactly the opposite of how they looked while cooking on the grill. The pork sisig was probably our 'good' buy at best, although at a whopping $32.00+ for a large a la carte. We also purchased empanadas, puto bong bong, and taho at the bakery. Price and taste-wise, they were okay, but nothing to write home about. Across the board, my next trip would be to try out Max Chicken and peruse other specialty items. Otherwise, I would probably return to the grocery section to buy ingredients, cook, and enjoy a more flavorful meal at home.
