Love Saar's. Renton location was my favorite years ago then shut down. The tukwila location is large, has a subway and chicken counter deli which is cool. This location seems much quieter and less busy but always has the products I'm looking for! I love getting nostalgic yummy snacks here before I go to the AMC movie theater next door :) read more

I'm being generous giving 3 instead of 2 stars. I don't know how they stay in business with their prices. Yes you can get some good deals on produce but 90% of everything else is overpriced. I'm guessing because they're in a "food desert" they can charge those prices. I would for sure recommend checking the expiration date on everything you buy. I will say the cashiers have all been friendly. Note: watch out how far you try to take a shopping cart in the parking lot because the wheels lock up if you try to take it too far. read more

I had visited the Saar's Super Saver Foods across the sound in Bremerton. I was amazed at the vast selection and competitive prices. I recalled being excited for the prospect of a site opening in Oak Tree/North Seattle, replacing the sketchy and shuttered HT Mart, back in November 2024 after a text thread with a district manager. This site opened in early December 2024, but I finally stopped by on 4/7/25. This will most likely be part of my shopping rotation. The best description for SSSF is that its an amalgam of various ethnic indie grocers as a convenient international destination for your shopping needs. The produce, meat, seafood, and baked goods are fresh. The displays and shelves are well stocked, organized, and provide variety. Decent hours of operation and pleasant checkout staff. Ample parking lot shared with other businesses and the AMC movie multiplex. Easy access via Metro bus on the Rapid Ride E along Aurora Ave N. read more

Pros of this place are that it's in close proximity of my house, the fried chicken is great and it has a good selection of food. Now the Cons I've been here multiple times but I know I have to check the expiration date of most of these items. Plus some of these prices are a lot higher on some items I've seen in other stores. I went to the store just recently and told the manager most of his pancake mix is expired from September and August. He acted like he was going to look but literally went there later and it was still on the shelf. Just be careful and check the dates. read more

Wow, a real grocery store! It has all the items you would expect at a typical grocery store, plus many different types of ethnic foods! The produce and meat are fresh, and it is super clean! When we went in, there were three employees coaching all the glass doors! The prices are good too! Night recommended! read more

Okay, we need to talk here. THIS. PLACE. IS. INCREDIBLE!!!! I've been to at least one other Saar's store (in Oak Harbor, possibly others) and it was a good experience... But this place.... This place takes the proverbial cake in amazingness! Wow! I just came in for some mundane items, and I was immediately impressed with the prices. Then, as I explored the store further, I was amazed by the sheer volume of cultural products they carry from all over the world! Asian, European, Middle Eastern, etc. Just about anything you're looking for, I think they might just have it. I don't think I'm exaggerating (much)... So I got the stuff I came for, and then I found the cold drinks aisle. It was like 50 feet long! It had everything, even some really old brands of sodas in bottles: Dad's brand, and literally hundreds of fruit drinks from all over the world! Listen, you can continue going to the boring standard grocery stores if you want to, but if you want a shopping EXPIERIENCE, you have got to come here. Excellent prices, cool store, friendly staff and probably almost every food item known to man. Things specifically I was impressed with: 1. Mexican spices AISLE. yes, a full aisle of Mexican spices (and separately they even had Mexican pastries! Don't believe me? I am attaching a picture of it!) 2. Japanese & Asian aisles: even included standard cookware, dishes, utensils, etc.! 3. Middle Eastern aisle(s): All the spices, all the sweets, all the stuff (they even sold whole goats in the freezer aisle!) I've never seen that! 4. European/German items: Coffee, sweets, spreads, breads, etc. Seriously, YOU (yes, you!) need to come check this place out. I bet you will come back again and again and again. Saar Super Save Foods is a great store with a huge selection, but their prices are not really "Super Saver". It has a convenient location, but missing are the combination deals that Fred Meyer has which is still my favorite go-to grocery. Egg prices are just as high as everyone else, and I don't consider $7.00 a dozen to be "super saver," but to be fair that is based on market prices. They do not have a lot (if any) BOGO specials that I have seen (buy one, get one free). Or, buy two get one free, like with soda or soft drinks. So although the store is only 350 feet away, I still order from Fred Meyer and Amazon Fresh, because they have specials that SSSF does not have. If I just need a gallon of milk or a frozen pizza I would definitely go here and not AM PM, for example and their hours are way beyond normal, going six AM to midnight seven days a week. Another point for SSSF is that it is never crowded and there is LOTS of room to move around, and they have six checkout aisles. The one thing that Saars does not have is a club membership for discounts, and that is a huge point off and another reason why I prefer Fred Meyer, Amazon Fresh or Safeway. read more

This. Effing. Place. I'm not sure where to begin, but this is the grocery store of my literal dreams. It's large, immaculately clean and bright. The produce is beautifully stocked with incredible variety (an entire aisle of at least dozen pepper varieties?? A pyramid of papayas!? Dried tamarind! Duros! Bags of collard greens! What they don't have fresh, they have frozen. Their frozen offerings are vast and sprawling, but well-organized by cuisine. Vegetables I've never heard of, and fruits I've never seen outside Brazil. Frozen Pelmeni, Khatchapuri, samosas. Ube, buco pandan and corn cheese ice creams. An. Entire. Goat. Or lamb! Do you want to cook an entire lamb? I don't! But now I could! Do they have more mundane stuff? Yes. Are the prices on those things basic? Also yes. I'm sure you can buy paper towels, cheerios and toothpaste, for Safeway prices here. Is their deli amazing? No! Is their bakery good for anything but Mexican breads and pastries and maybe a basic white loaf? No! But that's not what we're here for. We're here for everything else. read more

The variety of things here really is eye opening. It's hard to think of a staple ethnic ingredient that you couldn't get here. It's truly impressive and I've never seen anything like it. Worth it just to browse! That said, the claims of rock bottom prices or expectations of super low prices given the store's name are kind of overblown. The prices aren't high, by any measure, but for most things they're not lower than what you'd find at say, Fred Meyer. In fact if something is on sale that week at Fred Meyer or Grocery Outlet, it's probably cheaper there than it is here. That said, this is a great addition to the constellation of grocery stores we have here in North Seattle and I hope they attract enough business to stick around for a long time. read more

This store was great the first time I shopped here. My 2nd experience was very different. Firstly, when I walked into the store, the security guard absolutely insisted that I "leave my shopping bag in the front". I guess he assumed I was going to steal because I'm not white. Not surprising but still annoying and unnecessary. I would suggest having your security undergo a culture and diversity training because that was not okay with me. There was no reason for me to be singled out like that and it was rude and discriminatory. Do better! PS: Literally ALL of your international delight coffee creamer expired in February. Please consider restocking those with fresh ones. You're going to get people sick. read more

This store is amazing! After a long wait, they are finally open. When I walked in, the employee by the door was giving away a 6 pack of paper towels to everyone that walked in. There were a few more employees handing out snacks like frosted animal cookies and mini muffins. There were quite a few sample stations throughout the store with various products to try. The store was well stocked and very clean. The prices were very reasonable and some items were priced lower than other grocery stores. They have a deli selling fried chicken and other items. It looked and smelled good but I didn't try it this time. I will definitely come back to shop. read more

It's rare that my mind gets blown and even more rare that it gets blown by a supermarket. But this place is amazing. They have Bulgarian sheep milk cheese, nopales, all kinds of weird fruits and vegetables I'd never heard of before. And it's huge! And the prices are really good. There are pros and cons here. Nice store with lots of choices in different ethnic foods. Nice produce selection and yes the prices are fair. This is the 3rd time I have been here. What is NOT nice is the horrid attitude and rudeness of the staff and manager. Asked if the 4 pc chicken could be altered...didn't want drumsticks...wanted wings. The gal there "pretended" not to understand me. But when I asked for 2 wings and 2 thighs separately she immediately told me it's more expensive that way. I said I didn't care. She then laughed at me and told her co - worker in Spanish how stupid I was. Well I understood her. Won't be coming back to spend my money where I am disrespected. Then went to pay for my items. Manager opened up another lane so I joined that one. She was mad I stepped into the lane behind the person she brought over. I asked her a question about if they would be expanding the hot deli and her answer was " I dunno ask someone who knows". Ummm you are the manager so sorry to bother you. Again. Don't think I will be coming back....even though they are close to home. Don't like this attitude at all. I will drive to Edmonds to go to Winco, where all staff treat customers with respect and kindness...and the prices there are great. read more
