I have recently moved from Tennessee to Houston and I decided to take my time and walk through the store. Everyone that works at the store was so nice and helpful. I didn't feel like cooking especially since coming off of a long drive after the holidays. I grabbed a lemon pepper chicken and some other snacks to hold us through the weekend. I went home and my daughter and I ate EVERYTHING!!!! IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! We grabbed a few small bags of candied pecans...ohhhh goodness! Someone almost had to come and pick me up out of the floor! Everything is fresh, the store is clean and the salads tasted like someone's granny has been back there cooking. H.E.B is a store you can trust...well, I trust them. All H‑E‑B stores are the best. I only shop at H‑E‑B. The employees are always nice and helpful. If you have a home H‑E‑B they actually know you. Most grocery stores don't pay attention to the same people who come and go. My husband and I shop mainly at the one on 1488, but we will go to others just to see if they are bigger or have different things. H‑E‑B brand is just as good as the name brand things. Don't waste your money buying name brand when their brand taste the same if not better. They have the best prices compared to other grocery stores. Their sales are the best and they have good sales every week. H‑E‑B is a grocery store you should check out if you haven't and they have everything you need. read more

I gave this store 5 stars because for many years, they have consistently provided excellent service with a smile. On a derogatory note, the sushi counter-bar is a bit far,from par. The pieces of smoked Salmon were small enough to fit in a straw. H‑E‑B/Market Street's sushi offers significantly larger smoked Salmon pieces. read more

First time using their curbside service and it was a nightmare. My pickup time was 12:30 and I arrived at 1:00. After waiting 20 minutes an associate came out and said they accidentally gave my entire order to the wrong person so they were currently working on starting completely over on my order so it would be "a little bit of a wait" When I asked how long she said "ummm not too long..." so I sat and waited. About 10 minutes passed and another associate came out and said now they are waiting on the person who received my order to come back to the store and return my items. I told her I was confused because another employee just told me they were redoing my order and now I'm told we are waiting on people to bring my original order back so which is it. She said, "oh okay sorry they pushed me out here so yea I think we are repicking your order now...." She told me it would be about 10-15 more minutes so I sat and waited. I ended up waiting an hour from the time I arrived. The only compensation I got was, "sorry about that" from the store associate. First and last time using this HEB locations curbside. So disappointed. read more

Stay away from this heb there's others in the area, management is horrible and don't know what they are doing! I'm at another heb 20 minutes later which they allowed me to pay manually an order which was over $100, both manager and employee approved it. So I work as a contractor for instacart and found out that my card swipe doesn't fully read at heb's but my card swipes read and process every where else. Since it's only with heb, I imagine it's an issue with their system. This happened about a week ago or so. I found out with the help of a couple managers and employees that we had to enter my card manually. Every since then various employees as well as managers on occasion have helped me enter my card manually while I wait for a new card. I went to do an order at the heb at 10777 Kuykendahl Rd and paid at 8:03pm with Kristal as my cashier, I told her I had to enter my card manually since it's not working at heb as I have told other cashiers at other heb's Nd she said she couldn't do that and then went to ask her manager. Thee manager on duty annoyed said we don't do that at heb like if I just offended here somehow. I told her every heb I've gone to has allowed me to do this and she just kept repeating we don't do that as if I didn't understood her the first 5 times she said those exact words. I swiped the card so she can see the error for herself; when I swiped I would select credit then would go back to the initial screen and then I tried doing debit and it would prompt me to enter my pin and nothing would happen. I asked her why I couldn't enter my card manually and she said because we don't do that, when really shipping the cars takes the numbers from the card and process them, kind of like a human entering a card and processing those numbers. I asked for corporates number, but she refused to give it to me till she finally gave in and I also asked for the general manager and multiple times she said don't speak his name you can just mention my name as if to possibly protect him? But I wanted to talk to him about this situation since really I'm just trying to pay for my order and go as I have been doing. Well I would really advise to stay away from this heb there's others in the area, management is horrible and don't know what they are doing. 3.5 stars. This should be a nicer HEB than the more popular and organic/healthier Market Street one because it's newer and in Sterling Ridge but I was only averagely impressed overall. First off I must say Christine in the Boarshead deli was very professional and knew what a .5 slice meant (very very thin but in one piece). She said that was a common request from their customers. She also sliced my other two items perfectly and put the appropriate papers between. Five stars for her!!! The vegetable section was large but was out of several veggies I wanted. The blueberries were a great buy at $4.44 for 18 oz except that the cashier rung them up much higher along with at least 2 other items I caught. The cashier was very friendly and had no attitude. She just said they're not notified all the time on every sale item and adjusted the prices. I had my Yelp picture of the blueberries as proof but didn't need to show her. I still only rate this HEB meat section 3.5 stars. Not as impressed with the packaging and selection compared to HEB Market Street. The rest of the store is ok but the flow of food products is not good. The paper towels were not in the actual aisle that the signed said. This is my favorite grocery store in the area (other competitors include: Kroger, Walmart, Randalls) and I go here quite frequently with my wife....to keep her company and eat up all the free samples. First, it is clean and well stocked. The produce section, meat counter, seafood counter and deli meats counter are all above average with a good selection. The bakery is average but still very acceptable. I also like the HEB promotions where you buy one item and get a basket load of items free.....assuming you can find them all.....sometimes it is like a scavenger hunt to find all the items on the long, yellow list they give you. I have never bought anything from the pre-prepared food section but they have quite a selection. I am always amazed that they can have so much variety of one type of item.....take a look at all the BBQ sauces.....there must be 200 brands/types....same for olive oil......or salad dressing (even more). Besides enjoying sampling the food from the cooking station, we have actually came away with recipes we have used at home and enjoyed. This location also has a Wells Fargo bank, a RediClinic, a Pharmacy, and some type of ticket booth were you can buy tickets to everything. Beware of the Deli Counter. On Monday I went to purchase deli meat and the employee coughed on the scale while my food was on it. Yeah, that's what I thought. Celia should have never done that. I took the order to the cashier, Anais, and told her about it stating I didn't want them to "recycle" the order. She absentmindedly just threw it aside...didn't care one bit about my complaint. Pretty good store. But I don't understand the parking spaces near the front of the lot marked for "parents with children." People with children are in their 20's, 30's, 40's. Perfectly capable of walking even with kids. And little kids have even more energy than the parents. And I'll see older people, 70's, 80's, 90's walking far into the parking lot to their car. Why isn't there designated elderly parking at the front?? Even the pregnant women parking is odd - pregnant women aren't sick or weak! C'mon HEB, help those that really need the help! read more

What has happened to this store? It used to be consistent high quality. Just had second concerning experience that I need the management of this HEB aware of. I bought some cut up watermelon on Sunday evening. Brought it to work to east at lunch on Tuesday and it had gone bad! (In a day and a half - use by date was still two days later!). I thought this was a one off and counted it as my loss ($9 down the drain). Just now I opened a package of raw chicken wings that I bought yesterday and THEY TOO had gone bad and had not even passed the sell by date. Those could have made us sick! Another $7 dollars down the drain. I need to know that when I buy my groceries, they are going to be fresh - this is why I have always shopped there. This was my first time at this H-E-B. Market street is closer, but not as big as this one. This store reminds me of the old H-E-B s box stores. Big wide isles and actually found some products in opened boxes on the shelf! I prefer this store to the posh Market Street. I found a brand I use to buy around The Woodlands--Big Easy Louisiana style red beans &rice , gumbo,etc. It is so much better then Zaterrans ? I'll keep driving the extra miles to shop here! We visit a lot of establishments to acquire our food. Being high raw vegans, our family consumes mostly fresh fruits and veggies and quality is just as important as price to us. We travel a lot through the Houston area and have visited countless HEB locations including Kirby, both Katy locations, The Woodlands HEB (central market) and Sawdust location, 249 Cypress, Westhimer (both locations) and many more. As you can see, we are like HEB-holics, as this is our favorite grocery store and we frequent many locations often but this location is by far our favorite. What we like about this location? They have likely one of the largest organic food selections out of all the HEB's that I listed above, fresh squeezed (unpasteurized) fruit juices and a very well stocked bulk section offering dates, cashews, quinoa, chia seeds (white and black), raw almonds and much more. I would rate them a five if we could somehow do all of our shopping there but that would be almost impossible. Their food quality is great and their prices are very good as well. We also love how HEB does so much for the local communities around the whole city of Houston. They are one of the few if not the only store that we have seem do so many charity, educational, art and sustainability events around the city. So when you shop there, you are also supporting those causes. If you live in the area make sure to check out this location, you wont be disappointed. read more

and OH WOW in the bakery they have a dessert called a "coffee cup." it is a cup made entirely out of chocolate filled with coffee flavoured mousse with some chocolate cake in the bottom - I've been threatening myself with them since my first visit to this store nearly two years ago... This is one of the single most decadent, rich, delectable things I've ever put into my mouth....the cake was dry and not very chocolaty not cheap at almost $5 for the pastry but good grief! you want to indulge.... read more

This location is always on point with produce and other items. It is my go-to store, but unfortunately the cashiers and other employees look miserable. I can't tell you how many times I've come to this location and greeted someone with a "hello" and received literally ZERO acknowledgement. No one looks anyone in the eyes or really seems to care about customer service in the front area. The rest of the store is great. But there is always an awkward vibe when I go to check out. read more

The organic veggies and fruits section could probably be bigger, but it's solid. They tend to be out of basics a little too much, but I guess I need to shop at better times maybe. Well just like my review of the Summerwood HEB location, I have to say that while I absolutely loathe going to the grocery store, HEB is by far the best grocery store I've been to in the Houston area. It always has a wide variety of items (cutting down on the need to visit several stores just to purchase the items that I want) and just recently I was able to find a fresh organic turkey 2 days before Thanksgiving at the Kuykendahl HEB location. Does that happen at other stores? I have no idea, but they had quite the selection. As usual the fact that HEB has its employees at stations and on speakers is quite annoying for someone who hates the chaos associated with grocery shopping, but going late at night typically solves that problem. Parking is never a problem and the staff is typically pleasant - even if the same can't always be said for the customers. read more

Ordered a cake from bakery for a baptism, gave the baker a sketch of what I wanted. Ordered a white cake with strawberry filling., pastel blue roses with pale green leaves, an outline of a cross in white with filagree detail inside with rose in center., came out beautiful and was delicious!! Will definitely use the bakery again... however, I Bought some blue and white hydrangeas on Saturday at noon., came straight home and put in water., by 5 o'clock they were not looking so good, by 6 they were wilted... was having a party the next day.. I called the florist, Stephanie, very nice, she said to bring them back, which I did., got a full refund... did not buy anything else., went to heb in magnolia, bought some white flowers., stock and carnations, they held up great and still looking good.. poor review is that I believe the hydrangeas were old and should not have been sold to begin with read more

I love this grocery store. Great produce. Wonderful samples to try and recipes to go with. I love coming during the weekend and getting a great recipe idea and trying some new wines as well. You can't beat the HEB brand on quality. (Try the chipotle cheddar cheese slices on hamburgers; you won't regret it!) My only bad experience happened recently. I called ahead to see if they had flu shots and was told to come on in that they had them in stock. I arrive only to find out that I would have to come back two hours later because they failed to tell me that they only do it at certain times. Went across the street to Kroger and had my shot in less than 10 minutes. This is the first time that HEB has ever failed me on the customer service front. read more

I typically LOVE HEB. This one had a rude deli employee. He talked to me like I was stupid. I also noticed they charge more for products than my normal HEB charges. Ill keep shopping at HEB in Market Street. Their self check out also seems outdated. Half of them said cash only. The one I used had some type of disgusting food product smeared on it.
