This store is a hidden gem. It has the best deals, when you don't want to buy bundles at wholesale stores. Kroger has good produce and good deals on orange juice. I have to say that this Kroger has really stepped up their game. Produce is looking better taken care of and staff, for the most part, have gotten a lot nicer. The Kroger brand milk is still expiring a week before the said expiration date but not a lot the actual store can do about it unless it's a storage issue? Not sure. I have been shopping at this store since it opened. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. Since the Sterling Ridge Kroger closed, the location has severe shortages of inventory. I used the shopping on line and found the employees bringing my groceries to my car to be rude and I would fire them if they worked for me. I do not recommend this service. I used to shop at Kroger for years. What drove me away. The 1/2 way things get done. From the parking area littered with carts to my latest issue. 12 pack of Diet Coke - well, the seal opened at the end. So how did someone secure it. A tiny piece cellophane tape. Yep, you guessed it. Loading it in the car and the tape breaks loose and 12 cans go rolling all over. Grrrr!! The sushi area. Salmon sliced so thin it's basically just rice. Aisles left with merchandise for you to navigate around with no one there stacking it. I could go on and on. read more

This store has gone WAY down hill over the last few years. You have to ALWAYS check the expiration dates, on all items (especially the protein bar section). The deli randomly shuts down during the week so the ONE employee can take a break. No issues with the breaks, but wouldn't you have a backup person so it's not shutdown for 20-30 minutes? They only have 1-2 check out lines open so it forces you to use the self checkout, which can have a line 10 deep at times. Only go here now for necessities, as H‑E‑B IS FAR SUPERIOR! read more

Back home Kroger was Smith's so being familiar with some of the goodies they offer I was happy to find a grocery store that had yummy familiar eats. The highlight on this visit was a Chef (who happens to be from New Orleans) cookin' up some Crawfish Étouffée and with Mardi Gras coming up it seemed apropos. Thank goodness some samples of the vittles were available and I was even more grateful that my discerning palate appreciated every bite. Having been to the Big Easy and eaten at some of the most celebrated eateries I was not going to let my experiences deter me from something that could potentially taste very good. I was not disappointed. I got an order to go for $9 and then added some yummy yellow sweet cornbread to my basket. Woo-hoo! my family had a delicious quick dinner and the best part was that I didn't have to cook a thing. On this visit they had a table decorated with Mardi Gras colors and offered boxes of King Cake, Cookies and "Mardi Gras" beer. Time to get ready for Fat Tuesday. This has been my main close grocery store but I've have had it!!! WTH is wrong with this store or is it just Kroger's in general in the Greater Houston area and The Woodlands. Every time I go shopping every week I find expired foods. This has been going on for the last few years but is getting worse all the time. Plus I've noticed less of a selection each last few years. What really got me to write this review is our shopping adventure today. It was a bigger one so I sent hubby to do the right side of the store mostly. Remember to always check dates. Well I guess we have have to check dates on Supposed fresh merchandise just being put out also. The grocery worker was putting out what we thought was fresh Synergy Kombucha a live probiotic drink product for $2.99 each. Hubby grabbed 4 for me. Not thinking to check the dates because the drinks were being freshly stocked. F*ck you low life Kroger's! I just went to get one of the bottles of supposed fresh live cultures and all four bottles expired 12/10/17!!! This is suppose to be a fresh non gmo Health Drink! The Kroger's in Alden Bridge has expired food also. I have found this problem in Houston also with expired food. You know what really is suspicious is earlier in the year when there was a sale on canned vegetables. I normally never buy canned vegetables accept for corn. I happened to notice the large 2 pallets of canned goods and tomato products All had double stamped expiration dates. The grocery person putting them out said he didn't even notice and had no idea why the cans had 2 dates stamped .....one date expired and one date in the future? What's the reason for this....Hu The only reason for 2 stars is that there are some nice employees but there are some mediocre ones also. 1/23/18 they were out of 10 items I needed. Shelves are empty. The stockers told me they've been told the warehouse is empty. Found more expired food today. Extremely rude lady in the voice of a true biatch was sticking up for their double stamped items, dented and undented cans with a double stamp plus a stamp from Canada on it. I have experienced can Goods within the last year with a Julian date and a young employee stamping the normal now a days dates on basic canned goods. I asked the employee why was he stamping a regular date and his response was he was told to. Tired of dented, Expired food and double stamped dates on regular American made can Goods. I feel like this is possibly salvaged goods. Kroger get your act together and sell quality food like the other grocery chains in The Woodlands! read more

Although the staff are very nice, I submitted a medical doctor's (MD) script written for a 90 days supply. Apparently due to a "shortage" (their words), they "changed" the doctor's script to conform to availability of the drug shipped from their supplier (convenient to blame the supplier; I'd accept an IOU). Instead, I received only 1/3 of the amount the script was written for; so you would think 2/3 would be refillable. But only 1.67 is refillable. 3/3's cost $x.xx and the 1/3 I received cost me 80% of the original $x.xx expense! In the end, I will have paid 240% of the original cost had I just received all 3/3 in one bottle the first time! Kroger is stealing!!!!!!! This is unethical. How can a PhD change the written prescription of a MD? Also, now Kroger is EXPOSING me to COVID with more frequent visits, since now they're forcing me to go each month to get a refill. This is corporate irresponsibility. From Kroger's own website: "As an employer, grocery provider and community partner, we have a responsibility to help keep our associates, customers and communities safe. According to the CDC, wearing a facial covering, combined with social distancing and frequent hand washing, has been scientifically proven to reduce the spread of COVID-19." The store is fine. I'm reviewing the pharmacy. My insurance dropped CVS, so I had to change. Tried a Walgreens which couldn't even get my first prescription right. I moved over to this pharmacy and couldn't be more pleased. They went overboard to help me & they are always cheery and helpful. I love this Kroger. I've been to some run down "hide your kids hide wife" kinda Kroger's and other big name grocery stores and this one is very nice comparatively. It's clean, has a nice wine and health(ier)/organic food selection, and all the staff has been super friendly. The princess parking is generous (which is important to me the hotter it gets) and its like 2 minutes from my house. Also if you shop here and don't have a Kroger Plus card, YOUR MISSING OUT MY FRIEND. The more you shop, the more points for gas you get at Shell stations, at least $0.10 a gallon. If you have a big family and spend like $300 every trip the store, you get around $0.40 a gallon off or maybe more. Berry NICE!! I would give it five stars, but I hail from Austin where HEB is king and it still is in my heart. read more

I have to say this was my first and only time I set foot in this grocery store. Visiting my in-laws for Thanksgiving, we realized at 3:15 PM we needed a few small items to complete the Turkey Day spread. Immediately, I went to yelp to check stores in the area. I called this store and HALLELUJAH the person who answered said they were open until 4:00PM! So my husband and I got in the car and RUSHED to get our few items. We screeched into the parking lot determining our game plan to get in and out ASAP only to be met at the door by a young punk kid (Kroger employee) who said they were CLOSED. I said, "No, you're open until 4:00pm--I just called. It is 3:35pm" His response "well, we are closing the store now." WTF? Seriously? Me: "May I speak to your manager please?" Young punk: "Do you just need a few things?" Seriously? So Boy Wonder allows us passage to the store only to receive the evil eye from every employee in the store like we are intruding on their day. We grabbed our few items then stopped to look at buying another couple bottles of wine. Literally for 2 minutes... The STORE MANAGER came up to me at 3:45 and curtly told me to make my final selection. Clearly, I had no cart, no basket so I'm not looking to do my weekly grocery shopping. Upon checking out with 5 Kroger Employees hovering around us, I again asked to speak to the store manager. The "pleasant" cashier referred me to the Assistant Manager. I told him I completely understood that it was Thanksgiving and everyone wanted to go home and spend time with their families. This Kroger ADVERTISED they were open until 4:00. In a snarky tone: "Well Ma'am, we need to be out of here by 4:00." Me: Really? Well, perhaps you should close at 3:30 if you plan to be out of there @ 4:00pm. Then I was dismissed in a very condescending tone... I think Kroger Corporate may want to seriously consider training their employees (especially management) on how to treat customers in a courteous manner, regardless if it is a holiday or not... This store is clean and well run and has a lot of stuff. My big complaint is the price of the wine is high. Even the cheapest buy 6 bottles price is still $4 more a bottle then the HEB on Market St. I looked at 10 different wines including the black box wines and all were $4 higher. I have been shopping at this store for over 20 years. Great selection of dry goods, produce, hot food, meats, pastries, flowers and cosmetics. They have a wonderful health food area including Paleo options. Employees are friendly and some have been there since I started shopping here. There is even a Starbucks inside. I like that they have a decent size seasonal section for holidays and common toys and games. The downside for me is that you can smell the seafood department when you walk in the store. Other than that, they are located in a varietal shopping center and there is plenty of parking. read more

Seafood...there are two types of fishy smells. Good and bad. This one has a bad fishy smell. Definitely not purchasing from here. I love the people at this store. The pharmacists are wonderful and helpful, the checkers, everyone. Especially an employee that goes by "HOOT". He is just the sweetest kindest man I have met in a long time. He actually stopped to help me and ended up telling me how pretty I was and gave me a dozen roses. How many times does that happen in a store. We need more people with actual outright joyful ness like Hoot. What a wonderful experience to to end a day spent looking for simple things like milk and water. My Sister and I ordered some Floral arrangements from this particular Store 4747 Research Forest Dr. The Woodlands TX. When we arrived the Florist employee was still on there scheduled lunchtime. We waited and we were speaking to the employee, when the Manager came out and rushed her to get back to work. She still had 10 minutes left on her scheduled time. I know that these employees are under Union by-laws. Management cannot and should not, belittle employees at anytime. Union officials should look into Management at this particular Store. This situation made all of us uncomfortable and we will never go back unless management is removed. read more

So I've been eating fried chicken from Krogers deli for years! From Atlanta to Houston. I've never been disappointed! Until I moved to the Woodlands!! The chicken has no flavor and tastes like nothing but grease. I've tried it twice and the first time I was coming off of a 21 day fast and I was still disappointed. BEWARE:DO NOT PURCHASE A KROGER GIFT CARD FROM THIS LOCATION! On September 11th, I purchased a Kroger gift card for a friend, who was a hurricane victim. The gift card was for $50. The card was given to her 2 weeks later. She tried to use it on November 13 and was told that the balance left on the card was $1.79. She tried to contact customer service # on the back of the gift card and was told the card was used in Houston on September 12th, when the card was with me the entire time. They told her there was nothing they could do. Since I purchased the card and shop at Kroger quite often, I called customer service to try to get things resolved. I was on hold for 30 minutes just to be told the same thing. I asked for other resolutions and they said there was nothing they could do. Kroger has no intention on helping customer who are victims of fraud. They can keep the $50 they allowed someone to get away with stealing. They just lost a customer who shops there 3-4 times a week. I will not be shopping at ANY Kroger store ever again. read more
