No idea why Yelp removed tips because I don't have a serious review about a grocery store other than I love HEBs, found at least in the Houston and greater Houston area. Maybe it's because I don't live here and grocery shopping doesn't feel like a dreaded task on vacation. The stores I've been to are open and bright, this particular one is 6 minutes without traffic to my parents house. A couple employees were happy to remind us of a coupon for 25 percent off skin care products including sunscreen which we were there for. I love that they wanted to make sure customers were getting "savings". Also recently found their fresh squeezed lemonade which is the best tasting lemonade ever but this is a hot commodity and they were out of stock today! Texas is lucky to have HEB! read more

HEB has a convenient drive thru pharmacy and curbside pickup or delivery for groceries. They have a beautiful florist area that can make really nice arrangements and balloon bouquets as well. They have a nice deli, bakery & sushi area. They can make your sushi specific to your order too if you'd like. They have a vast produce section with a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Their ready made meals, salads & sandwiches are great for busy schedules. The drive thru pharmacy is convenient but can sometimes have long car lines. They have 2 lanes but only help out 1 person at a time so it can definitely get backed up depending on when you go. If you can, pay ahead on the HEB app. This saves time. HEB has great prices and excellent customer service. read more

H-E-B has semi-good products but now that I've been going to Trader Joe's I have noticed that Trader Joe's has a better selection of organic items and they accept Apple Pay. The other plus side of shopping at Trader Joe's is that it's much cheaper than H-E-B and the Trader Joe's items seem to be of superior quality. The only good thing of H-E-B is it's location which is more convenient since it's closer. read more

Just got a curbside order this morning! Adam, delivered our groceries to our car. Upon loading the groceries he noticed the pizza crusts we ordered were bent/broken. Always smiling, greeting you soon as you walk up and if you've been there a few times they have already learned your name. They ask how you are doing and notice improvements from surgeries. They'll answer any questions you may have and won't steer you wrong. They don't try to sell you extra stuff (vitamins, probiotics) if you are asking what to take for energy or certain concerns you may have. I love me some H‑E‑B I feel in love with H‑E‑B when I visited Texas a few years ago. The people that works there is super friendly my grandson was visiting me for his birthday and he had his birthday pin on a few of the workers stopped doing what they were doing to sing happy birthday to him. Some of the workers even pinned money on him. The produce is always fresh as well as their meats they are my to go store for everything and I always recommend them when my family visits. I love this store. Great wine selection, and very helpful staff will make sure you pick out the 6 bottles you need to save 10% off your purchase, but there are often additional 10% off sales. Usually free tastings on weekends!! There are often plenty of free tastings: the coconut shrimp always kills me, but I'm also a sucker for sushi and sausages. Great seafood selection and there's usually a special on shrimp. Wonderful olive bar and deli, and fresh tortillas. Bakery and Butcher are top notch! Trying to think of One Thing I'd change? North Woodlands HEB was my go to store for 13 years. The produce dept. is so bad that I am driving a distance to the Magnolia HEB to now shop. Between spoiled, rotten non- quality produce, pricing difference between signage and register and lack of quantity of sales ad product, I have given up on this store. Numerous complaints to customer service have fallen on deaf ears. For HEB to be Texas proud with this store is as humorous and insulting as Kroger's Fresher than fresh! I usually buy all of our flower arrangements from this location. They have been consistently beautiful. I call, give instructions, ask for no filler flowers, and provide a budget. I am not exaggerating when I say that I've easily spent $500 in arrangements from this location over the last 1.5 years. That's not including the days that I go and pick up bundles to arrange myself, that's another $200. My issue here is that I called once I left and got a good look at the arrangement we paid $73 after taxes for. In comparison to other arrangements, this one read as cheap. I then looked closer and realized that I could have built this arrangement from their bundles for under $30. I called back, explained that I wasn't intending on insulting anyone's work but the arrangement was just cheap. The florist came across as nicely combative-- I told her the name that I thought the flowers were, she corrected me. When I pointed out that the white flowers are fillers (you can grab a bundle in store for $3), she said that they weren't. When I said that I can could buy a bundle of white hydrangeas for $5, she said that that was all they had in white. Why not tell me before making the flowers? Call me and ask if that's okay. This is why you have my number. When it was suggested that I should have specified the type of flower I wanted, I explained that I never have had to. She said that I should in the future. I felt like I was the only one trying to come up with a solution and that's not the responsibility of the already dissatisfied customer. Update: I've called and spoken to the store manager. She seems helpful. I would never ask for a full refund. If just like to pay for something more comparable to the quality. Update 2: The manager Deborah is wonderful. She listened to me fully and provided a gift card for far more than I was ever looking for to begin with. Her tone, patience, empathy, and follow through were amazing!! That's how it's done! This is my closes H-E-B and I'm a fan. H-E-B is Texas proud! Currently though they are only getting 3 stars! A little significant history about H-E-B. It started originally in 1905 in Kerrville, TX (Texas Hill Country), by Florence Butts with $60. In the 1920's her youngest son Howard E Butts took over the operations of the company. In 1940 H-E-B opens its first air conditioned stores. In 1994 H-E-B continued to grow and added a higher end line of stores called Central Market. The first one was opened in Austin. In 1997 it open ed its first store in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2006 it opened its first Latino based store "Mi Tiendo" in Houston, TX. It's decorated like a Mexican village. In 2010 H-E-B opened Joe V's smart shop which has discounted meats, groceries and produce. In 2013 the company had total revenue more than 20 billion. In 2014 Forbes ranked it #15 on America's Largest Privately Owned Companies list. H-E-B has over 350 stores in Texas and N.E. and Central Mexico only. H-E-B also contributes 5% pre-tax dollars to charity. This is a large store sq ft wise. My favorite section is the deli with the Boarshead meats. The employees really understand when I say I want my Boarshead deli meat cut very thin but not shaved like .50 to .75 mm with their tissue paper between every half a dozen pieces approximately. When you make antipasto weekly or multiple meat roll up you need very thin cut meat and not sticking in one glob. It really is nice to hear no problem, many of our customers request the same also. Plus it's really nice to find friendly, educated and smiling employees who understand mm cut in a deli section. So many employees are clueless elsewhere and think everyone loves a big thick piece of lunch meat or are lazy and would like to cut a pound of lunch meat in 4 slices. There are actually times that real thick cuts of deli meat are required but it's never acceptable because an employee is too lazy or doesn't understand mm's in cutting meat or cheese. They have a huge produce section that always seems to have fresh produce. Also fresh made on premise orange juice is available. There is a tortilleria machine making fresh tortillas. I just don't understand why so many preservatives have to be used. The ingredient section is few inches long. The bread, premade deli food section and meat section is smaller than my other H-E-B fave location. Other than the above this store does have a different layout from most other H-E-B stores but seems to have the same items including some from Central Market. Oh I can't forget to mention during Hatch Chili time of the year usually in August for TX that H-E-B has an incredible selection of many Hatch Chile items. Hatch chili bread, cornbread, muffins, Mac & Cheese, Hatch chips and the list could go on.....Definitely Worth checking out! The parking lot is huge! I don't think it even fills up pre Thanksgiving. ---------------------------------------------- Currently during this Covid 19 Pandemic though I give them 3 stars. Price tags are missing on so many household paper products. I was clueless on how much I spent on many items 2 weeks ago. I saw $14 & $19 prices on my receipt from 2 weeks ago. Today I made a point of asking many prices at the checkout stand. Pet pieve today! I wanted to buy fresh made sushi with massago on the outside. Sushi guy said H-E-B is trying to not carry products with MSG. Massago has a natural MSG. I had the sushi guy make me a delicious 10 pack of uber fresh Philadelphia rolls. Next I head to the canned soup aisle where I find many soups with MSG :(!!! So why the double talk H-E-B??? Also the Boarshead Deli is closed :(. This used to be my favorite store. We actually moved away but still came to this store. I have never had anyone at the store be anything but nice until today. Our cashier Shelby, asked us to empty our "keep cool" bag so she could scan faster. When my husband objected, because he was trying to empty our grocery basket, she became very rude and proceeded to slam our groceries as she scanned them. She continued to mumble about how we needed to help her. We tried to talk to the manager, but only got "I'll talk to her". I feel that Shelby needs to realize that she works in customer service and she is there to serve the customers and not the other way around. She needs to learn to leave her attitude at home or find another job. read more

Curbside Pretty disappointed in the service for curbside. Although I surely appreciate having the option, it was not a good experience to receive a notice right at 3pm, which was my designated pick-up time, that items were missing from the order. Called to request an alternative option and the Curbside Manager Stephanie spent more time explaining that she could not accommodate, then to walk over to the deli section and grab a pre sliced deli option, located to the left of their curbside holding area. Really? In the past, I have added notes that were disregarded, so this option is not something I rely on. But I will easily make time to come earlier to pick up the one or two items not available, if I know ahead of time. Or ask if the items can be added with an extended pick up time. Understanding that it is very busy, I feel, if you're going to spend 10 minutes on the phone explaining to me that you are too busy, that time could have been well served by accommodating a five minute request. read more

I go to this store Before 7 am to safely shop. At every visit I come across the workers stocking the aisles while wearing their masks under their chins and noses. Not just one or two, but most of them. This is indicative of the culture in place for this location. You close early to stock yet are always stocking during opening hours , do not enforce mask wearing yet are receiving all these awards for what a great store you are. I now feel safer at Walmart, And, the rudeness of the checkout workers is accurate. One register open so I went to self checkout, which was empty by the way, and was told by the worker I needed to be in line for register checkout. I had a carry cart on my arm. read more

HEB is a good grocery store to shop at, but like any other person watching pennies, some things cost more than a major competitor. Their meat costs significantly more so I buy only a few packs there. This store is very convenient to my home, but it is large and sometimes it is hard to find products because they may have the same item, not brand though, all in different locations. The produce is always fresh and a great selection. Love their Blueberry Muffins from the bakery and Tortillas are freshly made in store. The take home food section never looks appealing because foodstuff is uncovered, therefore dried out. Just doesn't look appetizing to me. Checkout: There is an issue most every single time with my being overcharged for something, even if it has a code on it. I can't unload a basket and watch the items being scanned so inevitably I have to chase down a Manager to refund the difference. It is especially aggravating getting home to find out and have to go straight back to the store. I do like the store's diverse selections so I will continue shopping there while comparing prices at major competitor. read more

I do most of my grocery shopping at this H-E-B location. It's a large store with virtually everything you'd need. The produce section is particularly good: wide array and the freshest around. Head-and-shoulders above Whole Foods in Hughes Landing. The seafood counter has a good selection as well, but I always prefer seafood specialty markets. The big surprise is the wine and beer selection. The amount of craft beers and bombers available rivals the local spec's. The meat counter is where this place takes a hit. Good quality and great prices, but the selection is limited to the basics. Anything else and you have to go to the packaged meat. This is what I go to Whole Foods for. Don't bother with the H-E-B on woodlands parkway. It's crowded and nasty. Take the 10 minutes to come here. read more

I love HEB and their app. The app is a time saver and I like being able to see the prices. This helped when the app said the salads were 2 for 4, but there was no tag indicating. I love H-E-B, living in DFW for 7 years, I felt like I had legitimate H-E-B withdrawals! Their produce and meat department are phenomenal, and I love their store brand items more than the on brand choices! The reason this location gets 4 stars rather than 5, is because I quite often have issues at checkout. For example, I buy regular yellow onions for .68 cents/lb, but they get rung up as the sweet onions for more than $1/lb. Also, sometimes they'll have something (say a fun craft beer) marked down on sale, but they ring up full price! The same thing has happened several times with eggs, like they'll be marked $2.47, but ring up $2.87. The first several times I didn't even notice these discrepancies until I got home, because I was unloading my basket as the cashier scanned items. Now, I always watch the screen to double check. read more

This HEB is great. There is a difference from one HEB to another and with the exception of Market Street and The Stirling Ridge / Woodlands HEB this is the best I've shopped at and by far the biggest in the area. With a better selection than the competition I always find myself going back to HEB and this store is a winner for sure. read more

Coming from the city, I was used to having my selection of fresh produce, alternative foods, and a large "healthy market", so I was so relieved when this finally opened! Best Seafood Market for a Grocery Store. However, we only go there when we are in the market for seafood. I don't like how HEB has vegetables first. It should be protein first and then the accompanying vegetables, etc... We alway need to go back to vegetables once we pick a protein. In addition, we normally need to go to another store for beef or chicken. Their prices always seem to be high at this store. The market street location sometimes has some decent prices. We have shopped at this location about three times since it's opened, once when it was brand new and two times this past week, having mostly done our shopping at the new Conroe market and the Rayford location. I have to say that even though we have moved closer to this one that I will be going back to the new Conroe market, at least until the new 1488 location opens (hopefully on time this year). This store has higher prices than some other locations and the shoppers are, on average, EXTEMELY rude. It's like they need to run in and run out, literally run. I have been knocked into and almost run down every time. No one says excuse me, people shove past you and cut in front of you. It's like people are inconvenienced to have to wait a second while I chose an item off of a shelf. I'm not a slow lagging person, I'm not hemming and hawing away. So just flippin wait a second!! And the parking lot is too small. We do like the lending library though. That's super cute and my daughter loves it. For the most part, HEB can't change my biggest issues with this location, they can't make people less rude. But I'm going back to Conroe for the lower prices and larger parking lot. The employees at this location are equally as nice though, which I love about HEB in general. There's no way we would go to another chain, but we will location hop to get better experiences. read more

I wouldn't normally write a review about a HEB but this one is just the best. They make me look forward to go in and shop for food. And all of their employees are so helpful and easy to talk to. When you go there often, their employees start to recognize your face and begin to say hello to you every time you come and it makes you feel so welcomed. Especially one of their gentlemen who works in the fruit section, Badie I think his name is, always is so friendly and helpful with me. He even immediately knows the fruits I want and picks out the best ones for me. Now that's service that I can't say I've seen at other grocerys. read more

This is a great HEB!! Roomy, spacious aisles, light and bright store, and employees go out of their way to be helpful. Great sales on meat and good fish selections at the fish market. Love that the steaks usually are nice and thick--great for grilling! Wonderful produce selections, and regular sales on berries is a plus!! Missing the fresh jicama tortillas in the produce section---I hope they bring them back!! Busiest days are usually Saturday and Sunday--can be a crazy time to shop there!
