HEB AT Montgomery Street is very average or poor. The interior is very generic and not attractive. The produce is average. The ties for plastic bags are no longer available. The meat is very average. There is almost no premium meat cuts. There are times when staple food items will be unavailable. The shelf will be empty! The store did finally repair the roof so there are no more buckets in the aisles when it rains. The parking lot is at a pitch so if not parked close to the front door, be prepared to push cart uphill! The cashiers and baggers are friendly and the management does listen to questions or complaints. There is a security police officer patrolling the parking lot now. Overall, the store is very average. The deli is also very generic with mostly lower end brands for deli meat. This store caters to medium to lower income customers so the store reflects that reality. The location is very convenient for the North East area around Walzem Road. Overall, convenience for location is my top reason for shopping at this store. read more

Worst experience here will never go to this location again. 1st time here I didn't know the buggy's locked I normally go to New Braunfels Ave. location those do not lock. I didn't find what I wanted, made my way to the exit I did notice the buggy start to drag but figured I got one of the wheels stuck, then this lanky white guy with gray hair asked all hostile if I found would what I needed told him no and started walking to bus stop. When I got near the gas station there I noticed the security guard was eyeing me and made way to me I stopped asked how can I help you, was told by him my boss said you stole something very shocked I flip my pockets out and show him my empty backpack, he said sorry about that and we both went on about our day. That really upset me and ruined my whole day I felt horrible and I didn't even do anything. But yeah that one I'll never go back to. read more

Teach your cashiers HOW TO COUNT!!!!!! 15 items or less does NOT mean 16-100 items! Good God, this generation needs a do over and get some brains and manners!!! read more

Very small location. It shouldn't be hard to find what you need. What is hard though is finding a nice friendly smile. I don't think I've ever been to H‑E‑B where the people don't smile. They got awesome customer service but there's a reason why every has their "My H‑E‑B" and this one definitely doesn't feel like my H‑E‑B. read more

H-E-B - ows the inside of a grocery store - Grocery Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

In this HEB they have their own sushi area, deli area, and bakery. You can usually find everything on your own. It's usually crowed though. The other customers are usually rude and to busy to say excuse me as they pass by, or they are to busy in their own world jaw japping and taking up the isle! Lines for check out are usually LONG like Walmart!! Even the self check out gets long lines!! Womens restroom is usually decent, stalls are usually clean and stocked. Cashiers I've had in my experience so far have been mostly friendly and talkative. But you will have to bag your own groceries or at least the more than a dozen times I've went I had to bag my own. read more

I love this HEB ,They gave samples like Costco ,and great Coupon deals !!! BUT The bathrooms are the Nastiest thing I ever seen !!!!! People have children and need to be in the store more than 30 minutes most times ,the bathrooms should checked often! No paper towels, no air freshener!! Pee on the floor ,toilet seat was horrifying!!!! Gross Gross Gross Gross Gross !!!! read more

People who shop here are very impolite. A majority of customers are aggressive. I saw used needles inside the restrooms. There have been fights inside and outside the store within the customers. This would be the last store I would shop. I believe they need to close this location down and put a dollar general or dollar tree instead read more

I usually am not to satisfied with the workers as they do not help as much but a gentleman named Paul was helping me with a cart today. He even offered to help put my groceries away. He definitely needs a raise, his attitude is very positive. Thank you HEB for this young hire. read more

I arrived at H-E-B gas station today at 4:18 pm. It was supposed to be a quick, and easy stop.....but unfortunately, that did not happen! I went to purchase a pack of cigarettes, and was refused purchasing of the product because "H-E-B does not accept out of state drivers licenses (I have a Colorado state ID) on purchases tobacco products" I stepped back to check the window to see if the "H-E-B policy" was posted and visible for customers to see. Not one of the posters, nor printed forms tapped to window states such "policy". I advised the cashier Lelia that the "policy" was not posted, and visible to customers. Lelia's reply was, "I understand that it's not posted, but it's a policy here. I'm sorry!" I did ask for a manager, Lelia did pick a phone up (not quite to sure, who she called) waited a few minutes, as well as, a few customers later but left the gas station. **Update** A manager (Matthew) returned call asked a few questions, but also gave the feedback; that it is NOT a company "policy/ or rule" BUT if a cashier is unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or not sure the identification card is valid, it is okay for a cashier, to not accept the identification card. Question 1: Why is Lelia (cashier) working at the gas station as the only cashier, if she's not sure of what a valid, or invalid identification card looks like? According to their website heb.com a link titled 'Newsroom' shows that the company profits 26 billon dollars in annual income. Question 2: Out of the 26 billion dollar annual profit, none of the profit comes from the sales of visitors, or new residents on purchases of tobacco products? I feel as though, I was discriminated against. For lack of knowledge on the cashiers behalf which is not okay! This was not my first visit to H-E-B! read more

No problems with the people who work there. But come on... we need a new H-E-B in this area. I avoid going here at all cost as the checkout area has a terrible layout. Luckily they have a self checkout but that line gets so long. I wind up driving over to the Austin highway location but to be honest. They need a new store over there too. Come on H‑E‑B... you're forgetting about your loyal customers in SA while you focus on building brand new stores in other cities trying to gain new customers. Give us new stores!!! read more

Don't show up 11 think you can enter the store despite the posted sign saying open 6-12 you'll be greeted by a security guard with an attitude and calling will only have a manager hang up on you. read more

This HEB location is the closest to my house the only problem being they have lousy management. Half the time you go there and the floors are dirty there's not enough cashiers. I'm also handicapped in use electric carts the only problem with this being is there broken down pieces of junk half the time they are barely working seats are ripped and torn baskets are loose I realize that they're there as a convenience item but you think they'd actually take care of the maintenance and upkeep. read more

The worst heb in town. Numerous problems and a management team that could care less. In the past 3 years I have found rotten meat, expired meat and expired boxed/canned food. Front end management team makes no attempt to provide customer service and routinely make the excuses of, 'we are busy/short handed'. Meanwhile, they are laughing and having a good time with other associates. Tonight I bagged and loaded my own groceries while Travis just watched. When I complained he was indifferent and said he can't help because he is running the front end. Maria (claims to be a manager) said she would talk to him because he was in training. I have an idea... how about he be demoted. You can't tell me you value your customers when you put people like Travis on the front end in charge. I have no problems at any other H-E-B. Corporate needs to start over at this location. read more

this is my H-E-B it's about 2 minutes from where i live, it's also the worse i never go here unless it's for one or two items and i don't have my children with me. when i do my monthly grocery shopping i will drive 14-20mins away to a way better H-E-B. this one has a lot of criminals.... there's literally a cop there all the time. it's dirty, low staff and little supply/selection. read more

Convenient location and employees are friendly and helpful. They have tailored many selections to appeal to changes in local ethnic and cultural residents 1over the past 10 years. Tells me they are sensitive to needs of customers to make many business decisions. I miss some of the items I used to purchase but respect the decisions to appeal to the majority of their customers. They maintain a clean store which I genuinely appreciate. read more

Well they just got self check out going but the monitor female who was working the location told mei had 3bags of broccoli when I only had two.I was expected to pay anyway and then go through the hassle of showing her the mistake that SHE made and THEN wait for a refund at customer service.I don't know if this because of my race or what she probably felt that I was stealing and on food stamps which I am not! I will be extra careful from now on before I pay for my groceries!! read more

This location doesn't have any good craft beers. Parking lot is crowded. Employees are nice though.

This H-E-B was in a very good area the only thing is they need another management they need somebody that can get in there straight now at H-E-B out and do what it needs to be done where it can't be high on the list it is nice people the only thing is when you need help there isn't a Knouff of people there to help you that's because people think all it is is it in and out thing so they don't have the help that they need to get in there and do what needs to be done because that location is a good location there's a lot of residential that's in that area that needs that store if not you're going to lose your business to warm yeah I don't want to lose your business to Walmart do y'all because Walmart is a pain in the ass plus they do not help you out to your car so that's an upper hand so hey how about getting somebody in there doing their job good luck you need to talk to me to find out exactly what needs to be done or maybe get some education on how we feel contact me on my Facebook thanks read more
