This is the best HEBI have been to in San Antonio. They carry a large selection of seafood, meats, cheeses, beer and wine. They are always having some type of a tasting so you can always try their wares. I always seem to find what I am looking for in this particular HEB, unlike the ghetto HEB near my house that has a very limited selection of meat seafood and cheeses. Forget about finding a craft beer or a prime steak there. Lincoln Heights is worth the drive. read more

This HEB is one of the nicer stores. It is well organized and the staff is very helpful. It's no central market, but I like shopping here because it's much more pleasant that most other HEB's I've been to. They have a large variety of products here so you're sure to find what you need on a daily basis. read more

H-E-B - Grocery Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Back when I lived in '09, this was my go-to grocery store. Complete with giant cheese section, sushi, bakery, florist, butcher counter, and rather large pharmacy and wine/beer selection. And let's not forget the Redbox kiosk and bank branch up front, partnered with the exterior offerings of patio plants and plenty of outdoor seating options. Customer service was always top-notch here, even when they were undergoing renovations and the place got a little messy. Cashiers are good about asking for and double-checking coupons (ironic considering the area). I also love how you can request management to stock or order a particular item using a handy form available at nearly every register. Speaking of registers, this is one of the few locations where the lines really do go quickly and they typically have open a good amount to handle the existing traffic. read more

I've been going to this HEB for years. And it has everything you need without being fancy, shiny, or new store.

Restrooms are in the back by produce & seafood counter. They keep this store pretty cold but if you love HEB this one is not much different then any of the others. Was supposed to get a flower delivery for Valentine's Day. It is 3:47pm and my flowers still have not arrived and I go home soon. Called at 3pm and was told the flowers would be here in 30 minutes. The point of delivery is to be able to enjoy the flowers ON Valentine's Day. If I am getting them when I go home, would rather just not get them. Hire two drivers then on Valentine's day for flower delivery. I would not order flowers from here again. read more

I'm giving three stars because H-E-B is a good store, but this experience knocked off some points. This review by no means is critical of the actual location; it's critical of the delivery service. I was actually surprised at the mark up in ordering online and having the groceries delivered then it was to go to the actual store. I constructed a list to use for delivery and saved it; then I went to the H-E-B and bought the exact groceries that were on my online list for delivery. When I constructed the list for delivery it came to a total of $202.57 before adding the delivery fee. I went to H-E-B and bought the exact items off the list and it came to a total of $167.19 with tax. (No coupons used) That's a difference of $35.38 before adding a delivery fee. read more

I am extremely upset. I go to this store on a regular basis. I have had issues with the celery sticks and carrot sticks before with the tops coming off, but today I found SEVERAL HAIRS in my celery. Not my color or I would have gladly taken the blame. Get it together H-E-B. This is unacceptable. read more

H-E-B - Nothing like finding a clump of someone else's hair in your celery! - Grocery Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Not all HEBs are the same. Obviously. I think it's almost unfair how nice this one is compared to how desolate the one is close to my work. Anyway, that's not why you're reading this. It's a fantastic HEB. They have everything I need all the time. The produce is super fresh, the healthy living section is actually really good (I rarely need to go to GNC anymore), really good beer, and the cosmetics section works well when you need something. I don't eat meat and rarely eat cheese, so I can't tell you anything about the deli but the cheese section is HUGE. Furthermore, one time I came here to get a cupcake for my boo thang, but the bakery had just closed. One of the other employees offered to grab a cupcake from the case, and I asked if he could write "thanks for putting up with me," on it with icing. Although he was willing to, he said he didn't want to chance it, since it's not his forte. HOWEVER, he gave me an entire icing bag to do it myself! I thought that was really sweet. The pharmacy is pretty right on, too. There was a small misunderstanding with pickup times, but the pharmacy tech had it ready for me within a matter of 15 minutes. I'm still on my parent's health insurance (I'm not a scrub, just thankful for that little bit of the Affordable Care Act), and I'm not really sure how insurance works, cause the real world is scary, so he explained some of the process to me. I'm sure I looked dumb, but I appreciated his patience. Parking has never been a problem here. The cashiers need to take lessons from the dude who helped me at the bakery or the pharmacy tech. They're all really, really unfriendly. Tonight I bought almond milk, fake eyelashes, and a birthday card (whatev), and the almond milk was $2.88 and I had an in-store coupon making it $1.88. That's a really good deal! So the cashier said "that's a really good deal," and I was like "I know, right??" but she was actually talking to her coworker next to her about something unrelated to almond milk. That really annoys me. I've worked in retail before and I know how nice it is to have people talk to you like a person, so I'm always sure to say hello, but none of the cashiers here ever greet me or ask how I'm doing. So I ask them, but they give one word responses and then ignore me. Rude! However, I'll be back. I live closer to Central Market, which I love too, but sometimes I would rather save 30 cents on my cilantro, you know? read more

Ladies and gentlemen, the Gucci-B. The fanciest high-end HEB, next to Central Market, of course. I love that they offer specialty items and higher-end brands for when you want to entertain or need a nice hostess gift, and holy cow their cheese selection is massive! I've never had a hard time finding anything I need here, and I think it's a great middle ground between Central Market and other HEB's- you can still get quality stuff but you can also get freakin' regular Welch's grape jelly if you want. It's a solid grocery option choice, but cashier options are limited so lines sometimes take awhile. Recently I waited sooooooo long for my deli-sliced turkey while two other employees just stood there behind the counter looking at me. Kind of annoying. read more

Go to any other pharmacy in San Antonio. They have screwed up over and over. Losing prescriptions, sending them to central market saying they don't have something then calling days after saying to come pick it up there. Every time I go there seems to be at least 3 people standing around doing nothing yet it takes an hour to get one thing. Don't even ask them to call your doctor. Working a phone is still a mystery to them. To make things worst they are all rude and roll their eyes if you ask a simply question. read more

This is definitely the fanciest HEB in the area compared to my "staple" HEB on Blanco and West Avenue. What I absolutely love about this place is the fact that they have a nice fresh cafe at the front of the store with a quaint sitting area. The general tso's chicken and multiple types of pasta salad are phenomenal but pricey. I would highly recommend not going here on an empty stomach I also am in love with the craft beer section. I love when you can make your own six-packs of craft beer and they always have new ones for us to try. They also carry some nice craft beer staples in the refrigerated part. But the BEST part about this HEB is the CHEESE! I buy two or three blocks of their "artisan" cheese each time I come here and it is perfect sliced on a ritz cracker with a little salsa or with a dill pickle. Perfect for entertaining or for a midday snack. They've got everything the other HEB's have but the vegetables, fruit and meat always seem to be more fresh than the HEB's on Blanco and Potranco that we've visited. The selection is much more diverse. Customer service is always spot-on as well, even though this place can get absolutely packed after 5PM during the week and on weekends. I'll be back. read more

Went there today for last min Turkey rush. While there a partner by the name of Michael who is a cook. Was rude and crude and was upset because I was getting a taco at one another tasting sites he told me I was not a partner that I should wait my turn. In general most H-E-Bs are very similar with a couple of small things that make them better or worse than the others. this particular HEB is a long-standing tradition for me since it's in my area and affords me the convenience of being able to do fast grocery shopping close to home that I prefer over the other HEB s in this area just due to the fact of its options in shopping are more varied. examples to this would include frozen food section being quite large, potato chip selection, the fresh roasted Deli selection unlike some other stores, Etc. the most recent addition is what upgrades this experience to a four-star, as it now has self checkout for 10 items or less in place of the previous 15 item or less cash register check out. as somebody who frequently runs in for a quick item and hate standing in line behind 20 people who have shopping carts full of things and are in the 15 or less I'll anyway, I can appreciate the fast check out option for self-checkout that was previously unavailable in the Alamo Heights area but has been utilized in HEB s all over San Antonio that I have frequent it before. in the end it is the almost constant supply of Mexico cola, fresh baked breads, and assorted Bakery Goods that make it a great place for me personally to shop new options and when I get tired of my same old same old. the addition of the HEB curbside some months pass it also be counted as a plus for people who utilize that sort of thing, I personally am a browse Shopper and I like to check labels so I've never used this function due to my preferences. However that shouldn't let other unbiased persons from trying this option and let me know if it's great as a Time Saver or if it ends up being a bigger headache than it's worth to pay for someone to shop for you and do it all wrong. but alas I will in the rent here and go forward with the idea that anywhere that is looking for places to improve and acting on it seems like a good bet to me. now if only they would start carrying refrigerated Mexican Cola I would be in heaven. Also please know that I am using my phones mic to record this as I'm driving so that I don't crash and die, so please excuse any typos or weird phrased sentences. I will come back to edit all of that at a later date. read more

Best HEB I've been to. It has a great selection of food, especially cheese and wine. It's a great option over Central Market since this location also carries Hill Country Fare products. It's clean, lines are rarely long and parking is easy. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the deli employees are not friendly and are borderline rude. read more

I love Lincoln Heights HEB. It's sort of everything I love about Central Market - fancier brands, organic selection, bulk grains section - minus the loftier prices. Since the renovation a few years back, this location is always clean, well organized, and super easy to navigate. It's really the best of all worlds. They have samples-a-plenty all the time. There are cooking demos and classes, an awesome meat and seafood market, and a floral department that almost rivals straight up mom and pop florist shops. Oh! And any crazy vitamin, health food type of thing you're likely to find. And you know? If they don't have what you need, they'll almost always order it. How great is that? As my craft beer-obssessed roommate just reminded me, the beer selection here is really the only downside. It's mostly national brands, and there's very little craft beer to be found. For the IPA-minded like myself that's a bit of a bummer, but there's always the beer department at Central Market to make up for it! read more

Too many top selling products are turned into Hillcountry Fair or HEB only brand. Such as the Ballpark Turkey Franks they stopped selling (HEB ONLY NOW), Wylers fruit punch singles (HEB AGAIN) & Kraft Cheese squares sharp cheddar only found in the HEB Deli. Might as well go to Trader Joe's & Walmart. read more

I love this HEB! Definitely one of the best I have been to in San Antonio. I agree with everyone else it is a lot like Central Market and you can find a little bit of everything here. I have been going here for about 4 years and the employees they have, have always been very helpful. If I ever need help finding anything or ask questions, the people there are always willing to answer any questions! Parking can get crowded here especially with the other businesses in the shopping center and from Stone werks across the parking lot. Also, you really will have to wait in line to check out because of the limited number of registers they leave open. Other than that this is a great place to do your grocery shopping! read more

Why is HEB so horrible in San Antonio? I hate having to shop here because they are usually out of what I need or don't stock it at all. No matter when you shop the aisles are cluttered with people stocking items(haha) or the curb side employees with their enormous carts. Then when you finally make it to the check out they never have baggers and you end up bagging your own stuff or having to wait for the cashier do it for you. This usually happens with upper management standing around talking to each other and ignoring the need for employees to bag groceries. read more

When the COVID-19 first started, I bought the H.E.B. brand toilet paper and it was really good. It was comparable to Charmin. I recently bought the same toilet paper and it is terrible. It is very hard to tear the sheets apart and is not soft at all!!! What a rip-off. I used to really like this store, but not anymore. I think they took advantage of people who shop here. They sold the really good toilet paper when people needed something that reminded them of Charmin and now they are packaging their cheap crap toilet paper with the same label the good toilet paper had. Do Not buy H.E.B. toilet paper. I won't buy any of their paper products anymore. I think they dump the crap on stores where they know they have wealthier customers who aren't paying attention. I will only buy Charmin from now on. Shame on you H.E.B. read more

When arriving to bakery at 8:05 AM for a large birthday cake ordered the day before for an 8 AM pick up the 3 bakery personnel said it wasn't ready until 9 AM. The three ladies acted like I was an interruption. No offer to have it ready in a little bit; simply come back at 9 AM. This is my first experience at this particular H-E-B bakery having bought dozens of cakes for my staff at other H-E-B bakeries over the last four years. I don't think I will be back to Lincoln Heights H-E-B bakery. Rude! read more

I love this HEB curbside! This makes my life so much easier, especially with two kids and being on call, grocery shopping can be such a chore. Thank you to JJ and all the staff who do this. I greatly appreciate you all. read more

I really like this HEB, because of the employees, there are to many to list. All the departments are always stocked and clean. The Healthy living staff should / could improve, but all the other employees and departments are great. The Business center is the best. I like the self check out as well. Makes things go faster. It's a grocery store and seemed like all other stores that I've been to. The prices were average and the selection pretty typical. The location was okay and the service acceptable. They have almost everything here! From dry ice to sushi!! I once bought dry ice for my grandchildren's science project and it was very inexpensive and helpful to have that resource so close to home. on the other hand they have amazing sushi I always prefer to get my sushi from the fine establishment but I once found a tiny pebble in my food and almost cracked my tooth but that was a once in a lifetime experience that I'm thankful I got to get! I also love how they provide music but I would like it if they played some metal rock such as slipknot. Other than that I highly suggest shopping here if you have kids or just want food and other things! But the buddy buck machine is always broken so I do suggest fixing that so that I don't have to listen to children scream and whine to their lousy parents /:( read more

I love this HEB! Here's why: Health Section - I got some great protein and Clif Bars at 5/$5. The selection isn't superb, but it does the job I need. Produce - There is nothing but the freshest produce is here. I like how there are fresh samples out sometimes. Meat/Poultry - The selection is fantastic compared to my dumpy old Nogalitos HEB. I also am so so so happy that they cook meat and serve it to you as you shop. YUM. Specialty Items - I love finding special jams, interesting beverages, sauces, rare fruits... this HEB carries what many others don't. The best part is that it isn't an HEB Plus, so it's not overwhelming. Parking - easy parking due to the location within a shopping plaza read more

This H-E-B is pretty legit, although it seems like the meat section is smaller at this location for some reason??? The meats (chicken included) that they do have though are the best kind, the air-chilled, no antibiotics, free range ones. Some locations don't have those ones, believe it or not. Their ethnic foods aisle is quite extensive and features a couple of things I've never seen at my 2 or 3 local H-E-B's, so of course I had to buy them. I don't care for the weird layout, although it does seem very open and is very roomy. Staff members are nice and there's usually ample parking. read more

H-E-B has a nice variety of brands and regularly has awesome BOGO deals. Their customer service is usually better than most grocery stores nearby. I have to give this one 4 stars though, because on 2 recent trips in a row I have had to bag my own groceries while the manager on duty was less than 5 feet away, and clearly not busy. I have no problem bagging my own groceries from time to time, but when a manager is standing so close and you can see and hear from their conversation they are not busy, a little help would be nice. Plus I had heavy, bulky items (and am kinda small). It just showed a complete lack of customer service knowledge, which I usually don't encounter at HEB. Also that it happened 2 times in a row by managers was a little surprising. The cashiers and employees in the meat and cheese sections have always been helpful and friendly, nothing to complain about there. read more

This is my second favorite HEB, only second to Gucci B, or Central Market. This location is clean and has lots of variety. The staff is always super friendly.
