there was this employee that went by the name of erubay he had brought me my groceries to the car and when he came to the car I had my window down and I guess he didn't realize and I heard him talking about my car and how ugly it looks and I remember he said "the car is as old and outdated as the driver" and it didn't just end there than he put the groceries in the car with such an attitude instead of laying the bags down he was practically throwing them in and I really didn't appreciate that I hope that it gets brought up and that he get told something about this situation cause he was very aggressive and had a very ugly attitude read more

When I was a kid, I remember the Food Court food being amazing: the pizza and the Chinese food. Now the Food Court options have changed, so I can't speak to it, but I love all the Grab N Go options like fresh pre-made salads. Service is good. HEB Marketplace! I'm not quite sure what makes a HEB Marketplace different from a HEB Plus! or any other HEB, but this one is BIG! They've got a dedicated bakery here, and even a chicken roaster in the store! My least favorite thing about this store is that it's currently under construction. Large sheets of black plastic hang from the ceiling covering certain parts of the store. Things are constantly being moved about. One time I went, there were more employees than customers moving merchandise around. The store lacks much of an outdoors area. Other HEBs have areas out front that sell everything from gardening supplies to bird baths. The outdoor selection here is pretty meager. There's a good sized Meal Simple area here with lots of pre-made options. The produce selection is larger than many of the neighboring stores. Parking is a mess here. It's on a real busy part of the freeway, set back by a parking lot that's simply huge. I prefer other HEBs over this one. read more

We come here at least three times a week for our weekly groceries. With the current supply chain bottleneck issues going on, this location has managed to always keep items fully stocked and prices low. You'll find everything you need here, as they have a varied selection of produce, meat, and standard snack items you'll find anywhere else. The employees at this location are also extremely friendly and helpful when you help with locating anything or have questions about a certain product. The thing I appreciate most about this HEB is that when they notice that the cashiers are getting backed up during busy hours, employees immediately start directing traffic to unopened registers to keep things flowing smoothly. Even if someone has more than 15 items, they will allow the customer to go through the express lane if it's not as full. And there's always 1-2 employees at the self checkout kiosks to help customers when they need any assistance. Overall, this HEB is the model for how most HEB are run, and how grocery stores in general should run. read more

This is the worst HEB in San Antonio without a doubt. I spent my time grabbing some food and other things. It was very comforting to be around a ton of Food that protects us from Covid-19. See the the must serve food in order for a bar to be open. Thanks Governor Abbot, the mayor of San Antonio and Judge Nelson Wolfe for your logical decision making. Anyways, I had digital coupons and three coupons I brought with me. The cashier saw that I bought the correct items for my coupons but called the manager for some reason. They had no problem taking the digital coupons. The manager refused to take the three other coupons. They were all valid and I was baffled. I questioned his decision in a calm and respectful manner. He decided to become rude to me. I was told to buy the stuff or not. Since he was very rude and he refused to take my coupons I left the store. I refuse to give his store money when you treat your customers in a disrespectful way. I went to a different H‑E‑B that evening and they were very friendly. I had no issues with my coupons. I will never shop at the H‑E‑B on Bandera road again. They don't deserve our money. read more

The HEB Floral Shop over charged me for a gift wrap this afternoon. They charged me $13.99, only for clear plastic wrap and a red bow to wrap up a six pack and a couple of snacks. I thought they would place the gift in a beer basket, due to the gift being IPA bottled beer to make it look nice. Also, I thought they would only charge me half of that and on the price tag it says "Beer/Wine Basket". It should have noted gift wrap purchase. This HEB is on my way home and while it is always busy and can be difficult to navigate the parking lot, I have to say they have some of the nicest staff. I went after work to the HEB bakery to get some hot French bread for dinner, and after checking a few loaves, found them to be warm but not hot from the oven. No more than a few seconds later one of the bakery ladies walked right up to me without a word and handed me a hot loaf and smiled. Oh and I wasn't planning on picking up sushi, but the selection was interesting and they were helpful and smiling. Can't say no to that and can't wait to try it. read more

Marketplace HEB is my go-to grocery store in the northwest 410 area. It's not an HEB plus but does have a decent variety of different products and good pricing. The produce area is normally fully stocked and easy to maneuver through. The same goes for the meat dept and dairy section. They dont have all.the specialty items found at central market or the HEB in Alon Market, but has all the basics and a little bit more. read more

I love HEB! This one is no different. A lot of stock of supplies and when I went the other day, they had hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol. Staff is is friendly and overall very clean and organized. This place does get crowded often though, so watch out! Prices are decent and fair. They have everything here and a great clearance isle. Cashiers here are quick and nice, so that's great. Awesome place to get groceries. Definitely recommend this place! read more

I've had to buy foods, and supplements I prefer online, or do without, because this place doesn't sell them. My various home health aides from the Southside have said that there's a lot of vegetables compared to their closest HEB. This makes me sad for them, because there's volume, but not variety. HEB should consider treating their customers better. They once labeled shallots "garlic." I mean, shallots are wonderful, but I needed my aide to buy garlic. The meat section is huge. I've been in smaller grocery markets than that one portion of the store. They don't sell bison, and I've compared most of the meat packs to the those brontosaurus ribs from The Flintstones. I eat more Boca than beef, but it'd be nice to be able to buy a roast that could fit in my 25 year old crockpot. Remember, back when crockpots weren't gigantic, because we all ate appropriate portion sizes? read more

HEB market place on Bandera is usually packed, especially on weekends. Today was not so bad considering it was the Sunday right before school. The parking lot was clean, and the store itself was organized and not chaotic like others. I wish they had more check out lines on both sides by entrances for 15 items or less, to make it easier for those types of transactions. HEB on Bandera is so much fun!!! It was just built in the 1980's and they once sold jewelry, specialty breads, homemade ice cream, had a Chinese kitchen, and had a very large garden center in the grass area by the ravine. Nowadays, it's just the regular store like others HEB's. It's pretty awesome!! HEB has a great phone app for all the stores except HEB Central Mkt on Broadway. This app is useful for knowing what the prices are currently before you go to the store. Saves gas and time. read more

This H-E-B is closest to my home so I always shop here. This location is always busy and you usually have to park far away from the store. Inside the store is clean and they have a wide variety of products. What I love best are all the products that have in-store coupons attached. The products with the coupons are usually useful so it's not a waste. Even though the store is always busy, the check out lines are fairly short and a customer service supervisor is always monitoring the lines and helping at the register. I tend to always find what I'm looking for and am in and out in just a few minutes. read more

All three of the stars are for the produce and prepared food sections. This HEB had a multitude of options: aguas frescas, fruit cups, deli sandwiches, fried fish, BBQ, and Chinese food. Its super convenient when I need a quick lunch I can bring back to to the office for a working lunch. The rest of the store is just meh. I find the layout strange, and the store is a bit dirtier than most HEBs. Also, I have been hassled in the parking lot, and a coworker's car was broken into here in the middle of the day. I love all HEBs! This one is particular is one of my faves! It is not close to home but I drive the distance for their great produce selection. All across the board I always find fresh and beautiful fruits and veggies. The cherry on top is the produce manager, Rudy! Not only is he always kind and cheery, but his knowledge on best times of year for each produce item is amazing. I find myself relying on him for the perfect time of year to get the most nutritious and delicious product. His 30+ years with the company I'm sure not only pleases the company itself, but pleases the costumer with a source and insight to shopping for a wide array of the best stuff from Earth. So be sure to stop in and chat with him. You will be sure to leave the store with a cart full of yummy produce and that much more useful information about it all! read more

This location has been on the decline over the past decade. They closed their Chinese food take-out stall/booth (hopefully it returns). On a positive note, they sell some beer-by-the-bottle. Interestingly they also group their wines by price. Maybe more grocery stores should do this since most people can't taste the difference between good wine and average wine?? read more
